I know that he claimed to crack denuvo as a full-time job and got sponsored by paypigs for it. No idea if he makes any money with AI images but at this point his followers are a cult so I wouldn't put it past them to pay money for that too.

          Anonymous

Cracking denuvo is finding the one line they keep moving around that makes it call home, denuvo is basically a huge bloaty malware
It's extremely tedious and uninteresting which is why nobody does it anymore and also why an AI could probably do it more easily than a human

            Anonymous

That's what I'm saying. If cracking Denuvo is all tedious work that can't be automated traditionally, why can't an AI be trained to find this stuff heuristically?

        Anonymous

What does that have to do with cracking?

Why can't we use AI to crack?

AI is a great tool for identifying patterns and analyzing data, so it could be used as an aid for reverse engineering. There are just two issues:
1 - You need a shitload of data to properly train the AI. An alternative could be unsupervised learning, but I don't see how you'd implement that in a feasible manner.
2 - There's this thing called adversarial AI. You can manipulate data, in this case code, in order to make it particularly effective at fooling AI models. And since we're talking about DRM, it's obviously the first thing they're gonna do when they learn that machine learning is being used to crack their shit. Then it's back to a game of cat and mouse.

Humans don't actually make things off of a similarity algorithm the way AIs do and arguing that they do is intensely reductionist and an attempt to compare human creativity directly to AIs working off of a prompt. Please keep the meat-flaps on your hands from typing anything further.

But we already are living in it.
Earth is a prison planet created by the Demiurge otherwise known as Yahweh.
When you die "Spirit Guides" guide you into a light and show you a "Life Review" as well as claim that you have a "Soul Contract" with them in order to convince you to reincarnate so they can suck more of your soul energy from your fear/hatred/unhappiness. These "Spirit Guides" are in reality what's known as "Archons". They are Malevolent entities who will read your mind, take the shape of your Earthly loved ones to fool you, try to erase your memory(which they do prior to forced reincarnation) etc.
            Don't fall for their tricks.

When you die, DO NOT GO TOWARDS THE LIGHT/TUNNEL
Remember to be AWARE, turn your back against the Light and say "I want to go back Home" this will automatically teleport you to your original soul family away from the reincarnation trap.

From there, remember that you are part of God and you decide things for yourself. If you wish you can create your own afterlife/heaven or you can even escape the loop(Samsara) but the escaping the loop will probably not be easy

Most people that push for AI don't understand it, and pretty much every crypto-bro that couldn't shut the frick up about meme coins being the future has shifted gears and attached themselves to AI. Don't think too hard about text-based AI essentially being a phone's autocorrect working in overdrive, or image-based AI being a complicated version of photobashing based off of prompt similarities. The US copyright office prevents you from doing so. You are not legally recognized as owning anything an AI generates in the US because it was not made by a human. Text input is not human creation, but Stephen Thaler will argue otherwise since he really wants to copyright what his AI made.

Because the reality is that, AI is a fricking tech hype that was blown up a little bit too much because it can actually do a few neat things, unlike the other recent tech hype, and because of this, moronic people who doesn't know jack shit about "AI" nor the field that they point at and say "you are going to be replaced". But the reality is, even the two fields that were doomposted to go first like art and programming haven't even seen any actual sign of getting replaced at all anytime soon, despite all the AI slop spammings, controlnet doompostings and chat gpt ERP and shillings, AI still doesnt know what the frick that it is doing, it can't create new thing, can only scrape the current data, swap it around and if you look hard enough, you can trace it back to the source that it scraped and best cases of "AI" usage that AI shills like to point at are just existed tools and filters that got hollowly renamed as AI for marketing purposes.

art isn't going anywhere unless STEMcels manage to put a consciousness into a machine

Exactly. I never understood why people fell for the doomposting, if you understood even slightly how the tech works it was obvious it was never going to replace anything. Even in terms of image generation it's become completely stagnant over the last 1.5-2 years, the best thing shills could do is pretend img2img rotoscoping was this new innovation even though it could literally do that from the very start and was not new at all. They only started hyping it up when they realized there was nothing new to show to trick normies.
These people have financial incentive to get people to invest in the technology and that is where a hell of a lot of doomposting is coming from, it would be good for people to keep that in mind when they see posts/content hyping this tech up.

You're not wrong, I'm an artist myself and people definitely overreacted and fed in to the doomposting which was insanely annoying to watch. They acted like art was ending and that just emboldened trolls and shills. That being said, outrage is reasonable on some levels, in the ways

It's just a giant cope. People have been drawing on walls and on canvases for a whole bunch of millenias and you have these ignorant fricktards thinking that the human creative and artistic spirit and the desire to express ideas through art is just going to dissapear overnight bevause you have fancy tools that allow you to get auto generated "high quality" drawings at the push of a button. It's like these fools think that artists don't enjoy the process of creation and only want results the easy way.

The funniest thing is that, so far, the only places I've seen AI being applied is in ads for coomer gacha and I feel that this really represent the current AI hype. So far, in the "artistic" context, AI art is mostly lewd waifus ans Anime porn and the public for such content is obvious ans those pushing this content have a clear purpose.

    >denuvo and any other henious 3rd party DRM the publisher/developer wishes to force upon the customer
    >piracy actually being killed off if denuvo is involved

It's the future that the PC community chose a decade ago.

It wasn't really a choice, a lot of retail shops stopped selling PC games or had a copy of WoW and a few other outdated games, and that was it.

And ultimately it's a significantly better option than having physical PC releases stuffed to the gills with DRM like we had with SecuROM back in the day.

Wasn't Nintendo talking about working with denuvo to make their games non-emulatable?
Might have been a false flag in an attempt to scare emulator devs but maybe they can actually do it and not even emulation is safe.

If Nintendo goes through with this, they will have to seriously focus on putting out modern hardware. If their first party games run at 15-20 FPS on the actual hardware now, they wouldn't run at all with Denuvo in the mix. I think Nintendo is way too cheap to invest in robust specs.

          Anonymous

their games can't even run at 30 fps
adding denuvo will net you a whopping 10 instead

No Nintendo has never talked about putting Denuvo into anything. You're thinking of Denuvo announcing they had a Switch version operating/in development as bait for Nintendo to pick them up.

Nintendo is 100% going to implement Denuvo onto their next console. They have been absolutely seething at the Switch hacking scene for years.

No they aren't. Nintendo games play bad enough as is. Denuvo would just kill it completely.

              Anonymous

That's why I said on the next Nintendo console. Obviously it would kill the performance of Switch games. But they are probably making their next console from the ground up with this DRM so it doesn't affect performance too much but it still will because it's Denuvo and it's shit but it will be playable enough where Nintendo shills will still defend it

Drop the blackpills anon, Nintendo isn't going to make consoles as reletively strong as Xbox or Playstation. The hardware required to make a denuvo game tollerable isn't even common to most gamer PCs, yet alone a console which would just set itself on fire.

Denuvo games are free real estate, and you could make a living off of cracking them, as seen with empress and non-denuvo cracking groups

On the other hand, Denuvo is a subscription based service now
    https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-x443idlstvufi

    $25k per month + $0.5 per copy

$300k per year + $500k for a game that sells a million copy. This will discourage devs from keeping denuvo forever apart from big greedy publishers that have special budgets dedicated to maintaining denuvo ad vitam aeternam.

Same for the anti-cheat, albeit this is cheaper

Is it retroactive? Or just for upcoming games?

        Anonymous

I believe it's been like that for at least a year. This is why I wouldn't be too worried about denuvo, indie and smaller game devs will never use it because of the pricing. None of them can afford $300k per year + taxes, let alone giving them a cut of their revenue.

      Anonymous

Its a big financial commitment to spend that much for even a year of protection. A million isn't a huge amount for the biggest publishers but continually paying that, in addition to other games will rack up quite quick. Imagine something like SEGA having ten or so subscriptions per year for titles that have their sales basically die after a month. If they make 100 million from those games, ten percent of the earnings/profit is immediately sunk into their DRM protection. At what point do they say "frick it" and end the subscription?

It's sega, they cut off their nose to spite their face. ass backwards decisions fricking EVERYWHERE with sega. Probably the only reason that sonic mania actually had denuvo removed was because the dev who made it cared, while in other cases they probably just pay ongoing fees because they''ve fired the dev team and nobody knows how to remove it.

          Anonymous

Well as I understand it, Denuvo is now a subscription service. Before they could probably put down a million for eternal protection now they'll need to spend that yearly.

            Anonymous

yes, and sega are such spiteful c**ts that they'd rather pay 350-400k a year a per title than remove it.
