it will be the same as every bethshit game >hilarious bugs >hilarious npc pathfinding >wait for the ck
the only difference is that bethshit games have self service bug fixing by just using the console to reset npcs, advance quest stages, etc.
all the game has to do at launch is run well and not do something beyond hilarious like tying loading speed to framerate like fallout 4 did.
I planned on getting a month of gamepass for it, I know mods won't be available immediately but I'm guessing microsoft store games are unmoddable right?
Never played skyrim
any pc version of a game is moddable, regardless of if it's gamepass or ea play or whatever, because you still download the .exe and other necessary files used to run the game locally. they've started pushing for cloud gaming on pc, but provided you don't get suckered in to that you can 100% mod a pc gamespass game
they're trying to, believe me. I successfully modded my gamespass copy of DA:O but it made me download it through EA play. it shouldn't matter but not sure. I replaced the .exe with a crack and it still ran no problem. It kept offering me to play thru the cloud and I had to decline like 5 or 6 times.
I was going to grab it for PS5 but then Microsoft swooped in and bought the whole company so I guess I'll just watch. No idea what their game plan is giving a colossal fricking game like this away for free though. I really do believe Microsoft is run by morons.
It probably will be good game, even great. But it cannot beat BG3 and they know it. They didnt't care about BG3, think that will be small niche. Now when everybody plays in Baldur, Starfield is fricked
theyre two completely different types of games, comparing them would be like comparing nba 2k to like, idk NBA Jam or something, the appeal is different even though theyre both ostensibly basketball games
Gonna get it on gamepass and then buy it down the line when it's cheaper like all Bethesda games do. If the mods community is wild and does crazy shit, then I'll have to get it on steam sooner.
It's the #1 wishlisted game on steam and stayed the top seller for a long while after the showcase, and is likely to stay that way closer to and after release.
What's with this game and anons having schizophrenic delusions?

If your definition of a flop is that it doesn't meet overblown expectations and is rife with bugs then Starfield being a flop is a foregone conclusion
My standards are a bit more stringent for a flop, the game looks to be shaping up to be a better game than Skyrim at launch, there's no way Beth is going to be made destitute from no-one buying it.
By my standard it likely won't be flop tier
it can't flop if it's free. todd cracked the code, he escaped the matrix
Haven't seen any marketing or hype. Either it's getting delayed or they know they have another Fallout 76 in their hands.
They're focusing on shilling against BG3 (notice all the inorganic hate threads here) to clear a space for their own marketing
Not critically or commercially, but it'll flop with anyone who has more taste than the average soibeard
Maybe critically, probably not financially. There are a lot of normies I’ve talked to that are really hyped about it.

Ok thats cool. I'll never use cloud gaming either. I just expected Microsoft to be the sort of company to block any attempts for "security" reasons.

XVI proved that PS5 is irrelevant, MS is losing nothing by not dedicating dev cycles to it
XVI proved that FF is irrelevant, mainly because XVI sucked. PS5 itself is doing fine.
They spent too much on marketing for it to possibly flop.
It's going to be a terrible fricking game though. But still make money.
What marketing?
well i can assure you that i most certainly am not going to buy it
Oh go on you might like it

Bro not even Fallout 76 flopped
You're in hell now and there's plenty more circles to descend
As a longtime Playstation player I will play Starfield on day 1 on gamepass. I'm sorry snoybros Todd won

It's legitimately snoys who spam these "no hype" threads.
It's organized raids from various groups on discord including snoys (I'm in multiple of these discords)
