You can technically get around that by getting a Steam Deck
But if you're going to get a separate device to play games in bed, you might not even see a point if it's just for the exact same games you're playing on PC already. At least that's why I got a Switch. You can technically stream your PC games to your mobile phone and play like that, but I can't use mobile touch controls for shit. I've finally reached an age where there are some game controls that I can't adjust to, and kids have no problem with.
Steam Deck is a meme. Like if you're gonna get a switch-esque console to emulate switch games just get the fricking switch. Like at this point in time the switch is much cheaper than the deck and the deck can't even upgrade or anything so it's just doing the worst of both worlds.
Like why try to do the job of the switch in a mediocre fashion for much more expense? Don't force the square peg into the round hole. Push come to shove if what you want is to pirate, because that's what people want out of games coming to the Pirate Cave, you can just get a hackable switch.

P3 Reload is a big deal and they can a lot of extra publicity "announcing" it with a new trailer or something
Persona 5 was built to run on the PS3, this is made to look good and run well on modern hardware which the Switch isn't
If the game is meant to run at 60 it makes sense that they couldn't make that happen on the Switch without serious compromises they weren't willing to make
Besides, they can always just port it (or a "Complete" version with DLC included) to the Switch 2 which is maybe two years out tops
Yeah, and in two successive patches they had to lower SMT5's base rendering resolution (feels like 480p at times on handheld) to make it hold 24fps instead of 15-20fps. Not to mention the five foot shadow rendering distance.
Still runs on the system, still playable on the system. Meaning? The engine is not an issue. "b-but it will run worse!" yeah no shit, it's an almost 7 year old tablet. One that's a couple million units away from becoming the best selling console of all time, and also the only system that is selling hardware and software in Japan. Point is there's no excuse unless they simply say "We didn't feel like putting it on the Switch because Microsoft paid so much we kinda made all the money back lol", which to be fair would be pretty based of them.
The excuse is what they've shown of the game so far already looks like an ugly mid-gen PS3 title. If it looks like that on a PS5, then odds are it's going to be perform like a heap of crap also, meaning Switch would be a slideshow.

Just look at the situation right now, the PS5 is never gonna reach 100 million like the PS4, PS2 or PS1. Take MHW for instance, if capcom had put that one switch it would be the definitive version for one reason, local multiplayer almost all of those games you listed would benefit greatly from it but it would also mean two things

Soul Hackers 2 just feels weird. It's like they wanted to make a DDS game or a Tokyo Mirage 2, but they felt that neither name had weight and they chose... a series that has been dead outside of a handheld re-release for 25 years, while also retaining none of the themes
It ranked in Da Poll and Soul Hackers is popular with Japanese oldgays (which make most of the Japanese fanbase). Now why did they think making a game that looks nothing like the original, pissing the one niche audience they had and failed to capture the interest of everyone else would be a giga hit is another topic.
My theory is that they were trying to test the waters to see if they could get a third flagship series rolling, there's a reason the game is called Soul Hackers 2 and doesn't have the smt title or anything of the sort. It also explains why it's so, for lack of a better term, "Persona"lized.
Clearly it didn't work, now they'll try again with Metaphor. Which really, that's what they should have done from the getgo

Royal's multiplatform release sold over 1 million copies in five weeks (compared to 2.3 million lifetime sales on PS4, and around 5 million for vanilla P5)

The PS4 was originally my Bloodborne and Disgaea device. But now all the Disgaea games have been ported to PC (except D3 and DD2). So... now it's just a Bloodborne device.

How do you all fail to notice that if Nintendo is getting a port of P3R, they want to save it for their own showcase to show the footage of a switch version? It would be insane to announce the switch version while showing footage of the high spec version to be called out for false marketing. It is better to show a 30 FPS and lower quality whatever trailer but be real about your product, so that people goes "oh so this is how it will look on the switch".
I own a switch and well it is true that Soul Hackers 2 never made it to the console, but it is easier to fake out and say that Tactica will look the same across all versions than a game like P3R that is more "realistic".

Just hitting the series S benchmarks gets them access to 99% of games until 10th gen, unlike the Wii U where the gen ended a year after it came out. The reason they haven't announced DQ 12 consoles is because they're waiting for FF 16 to come out, they're giving that game as much space and shilling as possible so it can sell. Couple of months after you'll start hearing rumors about a possible DQ 12 date and consoles, and Nintendo won't be one of them. There will 100% be a Switch 2 version. Also leaks in the MS Activison case show that Squeenix doesn't sell "exclusivity" they sell putting games on consoles period. Nintendo has paid up for every single title that is able to make it to switch, so I have no doubts we'll see DQ12, FF7R, and FF7Rebirth (just a resolution upgrade on FF7R) all come to the switch 2. FFXVI is the question mark given it was designed with the PS5 as the minimum specs in mind.

No one is paying $560+tax for one game their favorite streamer plays, especially an EXTREMELY story heavy game where 80% of it is cutscenes, interactive cutscenes (ifrit vs phoenix), and walking from point A to point B. MS gave Nintendo a hell of an "in" for their successor. Just hitting the series S benchmarks gets them access to 99% of games until 10th gen, unlike the Wii U where the gen ended a year after it came out. There wasn't faith in switch because of how bad the Wii U was on top of the declining handheld market. The Switch was exactly what they needed to establish faith from publishers.

The reason they haven't announced DQ 12 consoles is because they're waiting for FF 16 to come out, they're giving that game as much space and shilling as possible so it can sell. Couple of months after you'll start hearing rumors about a possible DQ 12 date and consoles, and Nintendo won't be one of them. Won't even surprise me if Sony bought exclusivity since that's the one game that could make people buy some PS5s in Japan. As for the Series S, good point. Here's the thing, developers don't care. Every single PS2 game would have been on the Gamecube, but they used the install base excuse.
They literally put DQ11 on 3DS, creating an entirely separate game just to coincide with the ps4 version, then scrambled to make a Switch version when sales were high.
There will 100% be a Switch 2 version. Also leaks in the MS Activison case show that Squeenix doesn't sell "exclusivity" they sell putting games on consoles period. Nintendo has paid up for every single title that is able to make it to switch, so I have no doubts we'll see DQ12, FF7R, and FF7Rebirth (just a resolution upgrade on FF7R) all come to the switch 2. FFXVI is the question mark given it was designed with the PS5 as the minimum specs in mind.

It would make more sense to get Tactica out of the way and then announce Metaphor and Reload on the same Direct as this gigantic "omg" moment at the end, simply because the difference between it and the other two is so jarring that the only one that would show all three together is Microsoft to show people that after 20 years they are finally getting the niche Japanese games. Since Metaphor is not coming to Switch and I won't even bother arguing about it, they just show the remake of the game with prestige attached to it and that's that, people will talk about it for months and some will seethe as well because it happened.
Look at it this way, what else does Nintendo even have to show? We all know they won't show Prime 4 until the Switch 2 reveal. They already got Pikmin and that one two switch sequel out of the way. All they have for a potential direct by the end of the month is whatever surprise 3rd party games they secured and Persona 3 as the big surprise moment.
