TOTK is a glorified DLC expansion. The core mechanics were better used in a 20 year old game (Garry's Mod).
The map is a whole copy paste and still has nothing in it. Sky islands are copy pasted and have nothing in them.
The Underground is also a copy paste with nothing on it.
Dungeons are just "new" shit in the same vein as the beasts.
The abilities are a better fit for any other game that isn't Zelda.
The only thing TOTK has over BOTW are a bit of the side quests and Purah but granted, I can visit any porn or hentai site like Danbooru and there I can get everything I want from this game anyway which is Purah porn.

The cycle has only ever applied to the dynamic between WW and TP. SS is STILL, to this day, considered a bit disappointing. If anything it seems more like time is quickly harming ToTK's reputation while further elevating BotW, which was NEVER, at any point, considered disappointing by core fans. Its haters have always been seen as blithering idiots, which is why ToTK changes nearly nothing of what people complained with BotW, and instead takes a bizarre crack at fixing things that weren't really broken.
I don't like BOTW but TOTK made me appreciate it more.
Going from the Great Plateau, one of the greatest intro segments of a Zelda game, to the the Great Sky Island was such a massive downgrade that I question how they actually made BOTW in the first place.
botw is more balanced and more coherent, totk is just botw with a bunch of (sometimes literal) rubbish piled on top

Probably because it has shrine puzzles that are actually kind of fun instead of another tutorial on how to use ultrahand in a way you will never bother with. It also has intuitive powers to use instead of the straight trash Tears gives you, which are just developer tools implemented in a way that makes them laborious to use.

Absolutely fricking not. I don't care about shitting on either game but this is some revisionist history bullshit. BotW is a tech demo, everything of worth is islanded ideas. TotK is an actual Zelda game, it's the game BotW should have been. All the ideas BotW had that exist in a vacuum are now actually part of the game in TotK. Dungeons don't exist in the void of reality but are part of the game world. The champions aren't characters that only exist to give exposition in optional cutscenes but your actual companions that fight alongside you throughout the game. The quest lines of different locations actually relate to each other and things happen in the game rather than scenarios all being one offs.
TOTK took six years to invent glue and fellate Fujibayashi's Skyward Sword dick again.
