Malkavian relies heavily on ranged since obfuscate is wortless in the endgame.
Gangrel, nosferatu, brujah or ventrue. Those are good clans with melee or unarmed.
If find obfuscate to be better in the end game. Doesn't help you with the bosses but it doesn't matter anyway. I did a melee malkavian recently and had no issues.

for melee playthrough go either gangrel for protean, ventrue for fortitude+prsence for tanking hits, or brujah/toreador with celerity for high velocity sledgehammer hits

If you can't do it as a Toreador, you are shit or it isn't worth doing

Ventrue. Fortitude + Presence + Melee. Fights will be slow but easy as you shrug basically every attack off. Dominate can get you through conversations if you don't wanna persuasionmax. Your clan curse means that Seduction isn't completely wasted, as you have slightly more of a reason to acquire blood dolls.
Alternatively, go Brujah and Potence + Celerity ungabungamaxx.

Toreador with Celerity and guns and the eye skill and you'll be Neo dodging bullets and shooting vampire in the face with a shotgun while using fire shells.
Gangrel is absolutely monstrous in melee, even if you don't meta 100%, just pick the Anda Gangrel history and max out Fortitude and Protean.
I always thought melee is op as frick, but maybe thats because I played Tremere melee and Blood Shield just made me feel super tanky

Caine wasn't really that involved. It's just more of an Easter egg/symbol of how he affects every vampire because they all have his blood. To say he was personally involved and hated LaCroix and powered you up and everything else is mostly just headcanon.

If Caine appeared in the time when VTMB takes place, it'd be an apocalyptic event. I mean, he's a grunting, all-powerful troglodyte with a blood hangover the size of a planet. I would recommend guns simply because as a Malk you'll be uber squishy. Just spec into dodge + wits and max out Auspex to get as much defense as possible without gimping yourself. Additionally spec into Int and Research to get free skill ups and try to max out Hysteria. Obfuscate is good as well ofc but 99% of the time stealth is optional, even in stuff like the museum quest you just have to be somewhat competent at not being seen.
Gangrels are either cavemen or intellectuals free from cammy homosexualree or the sabbot they do their own thing. Once they have trained their childe they are set free on the world to do wtv the want they are not bound but do keep in touch and do come to their call out of respect and all that. They're more than just furries, a lot of them are indeed very smart researchers and scholars

That being said, it's also theorized that if Malks were as powerful as they once were, or if they somehow congregated that their voices would stop being crazy and would be the concentrated voice of Malkav talking to them and it would somewhat "cure" their madness in the sense that they would no longer be completely confused or utterly demented.

I looked through the game files and found it was originally an email from Arthur Kilpatrick, the bail bondsman in Santa Monica. That's why the email coming from Fat Larry didn't seem fitting because Fat Larry doesn't talk like that. For some reason, Wesp changed the email to be from Fat Larry instead. Larry and Venus have a connection even email aside (if you're a nossie the only way to do Venus's mission as far as I know is to do Larry's first, and then he recommends you to her), so I guess he just changed the email based on that relationship.

Every generation of vampire is weaker than the last, so unless some 13th gen vampires start diablerizing their elders, they'll just stay weak. Well they dont like fire and incendiary ammo is a thing, maybe he had a particular anti-vamp round chambered where a point blank headshot is enough to take one out.
Also the sabbat in general arent especially picky when it comes to who they embrace and how, so he could have been a particularly feeble gen and not too far off from a thinblood.

GAY. But understandable I guess. I prefer the old school disciplines that some clans get but I do understand the necessity. My main fear is that PDX normie-fies it with trying to bind the game up with the TT a little more, and in the process sacrifice the originality we got in the original game.
Malk and Nos should really be played by people who already have a deep grasp on the game due to their vastly different playstyles. They're both "different playthroughs" for differing reasons, though a Nos playthrough is really more of a chore than anything else. You can't really walk around in any of the hubs, so you need to get familliar with the sewers, some quests will be unavailable to you IIRC, etc. They're not super super different but for a returning playthrough I'm not sure I'd recommend them because the gameplay changes might make it a bit of a drag.
Malkavians have confusing dialogue that might make story progress a bit difficult to come by, but overall both of these clans are super weak in combat which makes them a hassle to play.

Is it confirmed whether or not VTMB2 will take place in the "new" WoD? From the small amount of reading I've done, the original game took place in the "old" WoD that has since been officially ended, as in, Gehenna has happened and all the other supernatural people of the WoD have experienced their respective ends. What's a part of the game that you guys think could have been expanded on? Stuff like the politics of the factions, the relation the main character had to their clan(No one really acknowledges your clan outside of Malk, Tremere, and Ventrue as far as I know and it often doesn't given you knew Roleplay options), or characters your interact with.
For me, it's the humanity of the main character. The game doesn't really treat you as someone who was just turned a lot of the time, you're treat more as someone who just arrived in the city as a vampire. This is mainly reflected in the dialogue choices were you seem to take to being a bloodsucking monster almost instantly, even though just 24 or less hours ago you were just some b***h dancing in a nightclub. My favorite quest in the game is the Samantha quest, which you meet a woman from your past who's been looking for you since you vanished. And that really stung as it put your situation in perspective. Your character knew people who they'll never see again now and those people think you're dead.
They may have had parents, a lover, and they obviously had friends who are worried about them. But none of that really factors into who you play as, or at least, you're not given the option for that to factor into who you play as. I wish that you were allowed to be more shocked, horrified, or happy with who they've become, with a focus on the fact you're slowly becoming this monster, rather than starting out as one.

There are already a bunch of tools that work like that irl, like phantom glasses. Realistically speaking, a Lasombra character would be at an advantage when it comes to avoiding cameras. It's things like touchscreens and motion-sensitive doors that would be the real issue
