It looks really good compared to the Wii version, and everything about it feels more well put together compared to Fatal Frame 5. The controls have multiple bindings possible for KB+M, and there's no model errors so far such as the Camera not actually being held in your hand like in 5 if you look at a mirror.
I HATED the wagglan, and I'm already enjoying the PC version. The sound effects are really good in this one, too.

Fighting the final boss and having all of his phase changes being a hard cut to Alma riding the absolute frick out of your comatose body in first person was a formative experience. I haven't seen the cutscenes in years, but I still remember them vividly. Alma is trying to break the fricking chair with her hips alone. She is bucking and writhing on your lap like she's breaking in a horse, tearing at herself and moaning like even SHE can't believe how hot this is, like she's trying to ascend to an even purer state of energy into a being of pure pleasure.
Ehhhh IMO SH1 had the most generic monsters (pterosaurs and monkey and maggots??) compared to the horrific shit the sequels throw at you, even if they are less difficult to fight from a gameplay perspective.

I played Amnesia the Bunker, pretty fantastic but normal was too easy. Waiting for the Shell Shocked difficulty to drop before I do a second playthrough. Question for those who've played it, do torches burn through their durability when you don't have them out? Or are they constantly burning, even when you're not holding it? Also is it possible to kill Toussaint with one grenade or should I bring two?
I'm also replaying Condemned, just as great as I remember. Gonna play Condemned 2 for the first time after I finish it.

The only bad time is when a demon catches you sleeping and paralyzes you. I had one crawl up my bed and scream in my ear. It was truly horrifying.

Not when falling asleep, but I've rarely had auditory hallucinations when I've been up for longer than 24 hours. It's always the waking dreams I start getting at that point which start leaking when my focus lapses. What's more common is the jittery silhouettes lurking in the shadows or random objects being utterly menacing for no reason.
I do see the occasional flash when going to sleep while not utterly exhausted. I'm sure these are hallucinatory, given that they almost look like a flashlight sweeping past a window but happen in a completely dark room while I'm facing a wall.
I had a simillar experience but instead of scream it was like someone was loudly slamming the desk that was next to my bed. Funny thing is that i have frog phobia so at that same night after that woke me up i was not even that scared but i loudly yelled after i went to the kitchen and there was a frog inside my cupboard. Scariest night of my life.

the ideas in it are good but its just janky and half finished because these kinds of games are never designed to actually be finished
there's also at least a dozen other copycats out there that put their own spin on things or just have pieces that are better than their counterparts in phasmophobia

I recommend My Friendly Neighborhood if you want a "kid friendly" survival horror. And I mean actually kid friendly, there's not a secret dead children storyline or anything like that.
I say kid friendly but I wouldn't say the game is "for kids", not exclusively, I got a good bit of enjoyment out of it. It kind of lost it's way in the last couple areas though imo.
Also it's way too easy. Playing on the highest available difficulty from the start felt like playing easy mode. There are 2 more difficulties you can unlock that are probably more ideal, you could probably just use a trainer or something to unlock them.

It looks really good compared to the Wii version, and everything about it feels more well put together compared to Fatal Frame 5. The controls have multiple bindings possible for KB+M, and there's no model errors so far such as the Camera not actually being held in your hand like in 5 if you look at a mirror.
I HATED the wagglan, and I'm already enjoying the PC version. The sound effects are really good in this one, too.

You didn't play the game. Fighting the final boss and having all of his phase changes being a hard cut to Alma riding the absolute frick out of your comatose body in first person was a formative experience. I haven't seen the cutscenes in years, but I still remember them vividly. Alma is trying to break the fricking chair with her hips alone. She is bucking and writhing on your lap like she's breaking in a horse, tearing at herself and moaning like even SHE can't believe how hot this is, like she's trying to ascend to an even purer state of energy into a being of pure pleasure.

Ehhhh IMO SH1 had the most generic monsters (pterosaurs and monkey and maggots??) compared to the horrific shit the sequels throw at you, even if they are less difficult to fight from a gameplay perspective.

I played Amnesia the Bunker, pretty fantastic but normal was too easy. Waiting for the Shell Shocked difficulty to drop before I do a second playthrough. Question for those who've played it, do torches burn through their durability when you don't have them out? Or are they constantly burning, even when you're not holding it? Also is it possible to kill Toussaint with one grenade or should I bring two?
I'm also replaying Condemned, just as great as I remember. Gonna play Condemned 2 for the first time after I finish it.

the ideas in it are good but its just janky and half finished because these kinds of games are never designed to actually be finished
there's also at least a dozen other copycats out there that put their own spin on things or just have pieces that are better than their counterparts in phasmophobia

I recommend My Friendly Neighborhood if you want a "kid friendly" survival horror. And I mean actually kid friendly, there's not a secret dead children storyline or anything like that.
I say kid friendly but I wouldn't say the game is "for kids", not exclusively, I got a good bit of enjoyment out of it. It kind of lost it's way in the last couple areas though imo.
Also it's way too easy. Playing on the highest available difficulty from the start felt like playing easy mode. There are 2 more difficulties you can unlock that are probably more ideal, you could probably just use a trainer or something to unlock them.
