are these failed shill threads or something? they always start with the same generic and vague praise while never actually saying anything specific about the game, then dying after 10 posts. and I say this as someone who liked this game too
>bosses melt down easily if you had basically any sort of progression on your build >random elites will just sponge up shittons of hits though
The frick did they mean by this? I hope they come out with a hard mode or something. I want to give it another playthrough, especially after seeing the speedrun movement
>no one talking about it >no one playing it >millions will only experience it through some troon's GDQ speedrun, showing 5% of the game and all the major spoilers
Grim.
we had one good thread on it on saturday. i think it lasted like 100 or so posts. Just enjoy it in isolation I guess. Even homosexuals like op who keep spamming these awful threads dont actually want to talk about it beyond surface level "xD le crab souls" shit
You definitely don't need to put any levels in MSG/Umami/whatever. Maybe a few here and there but thats it. The thing is, the skill tree gives you a good amount of "free" level for it and you will definitely end up filling out the entire skill tree before you even reach the last area (if youre exploring and fighting purple enemies at least) >is it good
A lot of shell spells are duds I won't lie, but theres 8 adaptations in the game and most of them are very good.
The best spell shells are probably Fizzle and the red cup that gives you an attack buff
wasnt sure if that kinda build was viable, but guess not.
also not sure how good defense is to upgrade. I guess there might be more things worth being resistant to. Its kinda hard to tell how good vitality is as a stat too since most bosses seem to have a 1 hit kill move even with a few points pumped into it
Resistance is very good because it acts like damage reduction not only for your worn shell but also for your hammer. Vitality is a meme, but you can survive the red attacks with enough HP.
Red cup is overtuned as frick. The debuff doesn't matter when you can block and full repair in one hit.
Hammers are undertuned for the speed loss especially with heavier shells.
I didn't bother and mostly used tentacle for the crazy stagger.
I only played the demo (It was a pretty long demo) and I'd say the demo itself was better than Hellpoint just from the direction of it having fluid controls, enjoyable enemy movesets, and good combos. Why not try the demo?
>I mean pretty much all nonfrom souls games are shit tier garbage
No, they really aren't. Unless you get to Dolmen or Lords of the Fallen (The OG)-tier you're doing pretty decently as a game. Sure, they have issues, but they're all negligible, and they're all at varying levels of budgets which you have to factor into games like Thymesia or Mortal Shell for instance. The Jedi games are basically just easy Sekiro and they're both great. I'd also play Steelrising, Hellpoint, and The Surge 2 before I played another run of Dark Souls 2 and I have.
I feel like the voice actor for inkerton was way overqualified for this game. He was probably my favorite as well. Roland was also cool but died fast for me
>yfw you realize that the Xs on the ground can be dug up with the grapple skill on the skilltree and aren't a lategame ability that you get during the treasure hunt
Is it true that this is more of an introduction to souls likes for those who couldn't get into the genre through FS games? Or is this also great if you went through all the FS stuff and hungry for more?
It's not particularly complex nor difficult but the bosses would be fairly punishing for someone not experienced with the genre. Trying to block every hit is punished severely and there aren't many ways for forcing it to be your turn.
Kind of. It still has the same sort of general structure as a FS game but it's more lenient in general exploration, but bosses expect you to parry or dodge well like in any other Soulslike. It's a bit more action oriented but still mostly relies on the usual structure of the genre. The only thing that I can think that would be a decent introduction to the genre outside of Fromsoft games would be the Jedi games on lower difficulties (Since they have the same design principles minus stamina and more platforming), Code Vein (It's more action oriented but has stamina), or maybe The Surge 2 (It's more parry oriented but has stamina). Hellpoint would also work I guess but it's way clunkier than a Fromsoft game and you have to work around that.

this entire discussion is moronic. even normalgays can beat dark souls 1. just play that if you want to get into dark souls
They can, but some people can't get past the O&S hump or still have trouble with the controls even deep into it and find the genre hard to get into. I have a relative who died like eight times to Pinwheel (Not in early game by the way) but beat O&S first try without really understanding how to properly dodge anything or learning their movesets with a melee build. DaS1 and DeS are fairly easy game and easy to get into, but for some people they can't get into the genre through them and I get what he means by being unable to get into the genre through Fromsoft games because I've seen someone experience it firsthand.
I like the game, it's got a lot of cool little mechanics. Just beat the mantis shrimp boss. Probably the only thing I've found genuinely hard so far.
It's really buggy though, and pretty ugly in places. I also think the story is really preachy and annoying. Like, I didn't want these cute little crab guys to go on a speech about how capitalism is bad and communism is good. It really took me out of the experience. Just let me kill sea creatures.
I beat him after the cove. From New Carcina to expired Grove I didnt stray from the lifesavers at all, but when I left I explored a bit, he showed up, and he seemed totally beatable
Not particularly, but difficult to beat until after the grove. Once you have some slightly better shells and a couple levels he's tricky but doable, but trying to do him immediately is more trouble than its worth and I say that as someone that beat the guillotine crab before getting shells.
Its a fun game but you could feel some of the lack of polish you get in bigger studios. The movement/dodging didn't feel smooth. Same for the attacks.
I don't hate the platforming sections and it helps stand apart from the other games, but I wish there was more backtracking to old areas with mantis punch/the shock to find entire new other areas or bosses.
Because the map is mostly used for getting your immediate landmarks and there's enough unique geometry for you to be able to navigate off of that alone.
i like it, but you can stop making threads now
Ganker will never talk about it
I never made a single thread about this game till now. The game's crazy good lol
Prove it
Ok... Look at this thing. LOL looks ridiculous what's even this a snake?
go back tourist
I love animals. This is an Ganker game. You're the one who needs to go back.
yeah yeah im sorry your parents left you with a craving for attention. just frick off back to redit already
are these failed shill threads or something? they always start with the same generic and vague praise while never actually saying anything specific about the game, then dying after 10 posts. and I say this as someone who liked this game too
ydbtg
You don't booty tag girls?

Anoria is that you?
>You didn't become the Guy
>can't even customize the crab at the start
that's like 1/4th of the fun of souls games.
Wut. You're thinking of Dragon Dogma.
JUST LET ME MAKE A GREEN CRAB
homosexual
Bro, the character editor in Souls games is fricking garbage. Just go play DD2 and be happy.
It is garbage, that's why it's fun.
jesus christ dont tell me you whiny b***hes are back after you ruined sekiro and lies of P threads
>no one talking about it
>no one playing it

well it sold like 300,000 copies on top of gamepass so I think some people played it
It's selling well on Steam. Tf are you talking about
This game is actually more closely related to BotW than it is to Souls games.
Fork has no durability though. And the hammers don't have different movesets. Feels more like picking up weapons in a beat em up.
There's an LGBTroon flag cosmetic but that's about it.
does this shit really have troonshit in it?
You can wear a gay flag as a neckerchief. Pretty much 0 sexuality in the game besides that.
there's a couple of gay crabs in the main city
also
It's fine, but nowhere near as good as Lies of P. Crab game has way too many areas that are huge and empty and/or look the same
troony game
It's a game about crabs and fish. What's so troony about it? lol
is umami good or should I just keep dumping everything into strength?
You definitely don't need to put any levels in MSG/Umami/whatever. Maybe a few here and there but thats it. maybe you should play the game instead of trying to minmax your levels 5 minutes into the game
The grab moves have a different animation if they wouldn't deal enough damage to kill you, so having a high def shell/more vit will let you live.
Resistance is very good because it acts like damage reduction not only for your worn shell but also for your hammer. Vitality is a meme, but you can survive the red attacks with enough HP.

Have you considered double or triple clockie though
Then I would have to put away my dog
I love Hellpoint and hate Mortal Shell. Where would this game lie?
I only played the demo (It was a pretty long demo) and I'd say the demo itself was better than Hellpoint just from the direction of it having fluid controls, enjoyable enemy movesets, and good combos. Why not try the demo?
I mean pretty much all nonfrom souls games are shit tier garbage besides lies of P. I would put this game under Lies of P but still good
>I mean pretty much all nonfrom souls games are shit tier garbage

But is it woke or not?
I heard this shit has a rainbow flag in it.
is every boss a crab?
best boss fight?
I beat every boss after him first try I blew all my healing on first phase camtscha but that doesn't count and his design is great.
I feel like the voice actor for inkerton was way overqualified for this game. He was probably my favorite as well. Roland was also cool but died fast for me
>Barely customizable
>No NG+
>Quickly gets way too easy
>Not a lot of different playstyles
>yfw you realize that the Xs on the ground can be dug up with the grapple skill on the skilltree and aren't a lategame ability that you get during the treasure hunt
kek yeah. Forgot when I discovered this, but it was at least as far as shell corp (first half before you get in the factory)
I discovered it after beating the game because I looked up what the frick I missed
Stop shilling.

this game is for diehard soul fans
And die hard BotW fans
It's about as hard as a standard souls game except for the bosses, which are easier to brute force without learning the fight.
Just let me kill sea creatures.
how hard is it to kill the guy who patrols the open ocean?
I beat him after the cove. From New Carcina to expired Grove I didnt stray from the lifesavers at all, but when I left I explored a bit, he showed up, and he seemed totally beatable
Not particularly, but difficult to beat until after the grove. Once you have some slightly better shells and a couple levels he's tricky but doable, but trying to do him immediately is more trouble than its worth and I say that as someone that beat the guillotine crab before getting shells.
I avoided him before the grove but then I had a bathroom thought that hiding in your shell would counter the fear move. Beat him after that.
No stamina
Bosses are either overtuned or im shit
Use hammers
YOURE SHIT. LOL
always knew i didn't had it in me
I put him in the maid costume
Post it
his tail thing has a sock on it too
God damn..

Buy an ad
so true we need to make space on the catalog for thread #10000 about the helldivers 2 sony twitter drama
I know this is that stupid "silence" meme, but what is the laser supposed to be? What's the relation to the telephone?
Its not stupid btw. theyre cool enemies
minor annoyance, but why the FRICK isn't there a dedicated map button. and WHY can't you scroll around the map?
I dont know. Shit is moronic. The map is basically useless despite actually being a good but abstracted representation of the areas.
Because the map is mostly used for getting your immediate landmarks and there's enough unique geometry for you to be able to navigate off of that alone.
Ongbal isn't playing it so it's shit
homosexual
I just grabbed my second old world whorl and didn't get another umami charge. what the hell gives?
is this your first video game dumbass? read the fricking text that pops up
You need one, then two, then three, etc. Same as the stainless relics.
