I played both and thought 999 was better, it just had such a tense atmosphere through and through
Steins gate was amazing but started off slow.
For the first third of the game its just 3 people dicking around with a microwave and it doesnt really pick up until later
Nothing wrong with character development, I just thought it felt a little slow. 999 was all kills chills and thrills for me. Even the slow explanatory parts were still bone chilling and made you wrack your brain with theories.
First third of Steins Gate didn't have that effect, it felt like the uphil part of the roller coaster
I disliked it for the most parts.
Theres no reason to take THAT long to "develop" ur shitty ass characters.
But near the end when Kurisu and Okabe kiss won me.
I would never have something like that. I guess thats the reason I consume a lot of romanceslop
How would you even feel anything for their romance if you didn't care enough about everything that built up to it? You just sound shallow here if you can't care about anything but the end.
Their romance gets relegated to the background in a lot that "character development". I feel like the game focus too much on shitty characters like Moeka and Faris. Daru barely gets development and he's cool as frick
persona has an ok story but people play more for the anime highschool sim stuff. steins;gate has a meh story but it's a vn so it has literally nothing else to fall back on
Since this thread has some people who actually played SciAdv games, how was Anonymous Code? I saw several threads awhile ago mentioning Ganker is in the game, but other than that, is story on it's own any good?
I haven't played the game either but the discussion on it seems to have dried up pretty quickly. Not sure that's a good sign, but maybe it's just because they decided to ask full price for the game for some reason.
Wish this game more love outside of homosexual video essays. >everything you see is from the MC, Brad Armstrong's perspective >Joy is a drug that gives you intense strength but has intense withdrawls >other side effects include mutation >the first scene is literally Brad recalling his abuse and taking joy to cope > He mutates in the end and fricking eviscerates an entire army, only to die a failure > From the very beginning, you were watching a dead man's tale with no happy ending
I fricking loved playing this game and when I'm done making maps for it I will be contempt
>Visual Novel
They're barely even games you cheating homosexual
*posts literally any game*
Planetscape Torment
that's a book you moron
And OP's game is a book too, what's your point?
planetscape is literally a game. which is more than can be said about most of the other things getting posted,
>90s videogames
Not playing that.
homosexual.
Your time is over boomer. Your bones creak. Neoliberalism is failing. You need a colonoscopy.
90s shit isn't lit and bussin anymore.
These children will control our society in 20 years. We are not ready.
More like YOU are not ready boomer
In what world are you comparing a VN to a JRPG? That's not even the best VN. Not even the best sci-fi VN. Play more fricking games.
What is the best Sci-fi VN in your opinion?
999 Nonary game 1 is best for me
That anon is moronic, S;G is the best Sci fi VN. Nonary games are fairly mediocre in comparison, even 999.

Steins gate was amazing but started off slow.
For the first third of the game its just 3 people dicking around with a microwave and it doesnt really pick up until later
The first third is where the character development is, you don't get it if you can't see that.
Nothing wrong with character development, I just thought it felt a little slow. 999 was all kills chills and thrills for me. Even the slow explanatory parts were still bone chilling and made you wrack your brain with theories.

What would you recommend then?
Dude Sex.
Which Persona?
All of them.
Persona 3 has the best story in the series.
Well it's not like anyone has played Persona 1 or 2 to say this definitively anyways.
Not a game.
visual novels are games. The fact that they're allowed on Ganker is proof enough.
Catherine
Solid 10/10. What an absolute ride.
you start, Makise "Campus Cumdump Christina" Kurusu being the true end is the worst slice of hackshit writing to ever be produced
>Getting filtered by a popular highly rated VN
Many such cases.
I prefer Fate Stay Night
There is nothing wrong with Persona's story, frick off
At least Persona has gameplay which is something these story "games" are incapable of
I disliked it for the most parts.

>posts a visual novel instead of a game
Killer7. And yes, I suffer from severe schizophrenia and I am entirely unmedicated
Crazy that someone else still remembers this game
>Every game getting posted is old as frick
Not sure if this is telling or not
Modern games are actually terrible. I don't think there has been a good AAA game since around 2015.
>Steins Gate
>good story
It has no such thing.
Disco Elysium
persona has an ok story but people play more for the anime highschool sim stuff. steins;gate has a meh story but it's a vn so it has literally nothing else to fall back on
