GAME FREAK
Would you rather have Gold and Silver's battery problem where if it dies it just wipes out your entire save game? at least in gen 3 it just fucks you over slightly with clock based events not working and you can still replace the battery without losing your entire save game.
Sadly, yes. Radio shack is gone, tech companies WANT people to be afraid to open up and fix things so they'll buy new things instead, and nobody but niche hobbyists are learning these skills these days.
the irony is I did play ruby when it came out and was furious at the complete lack of postgame after the elite 4 as my previous games were gold and crystal. I remember that moment of realization, anger, and disappointment to this very day. I remember wandering around aimlessly looking for the trigger to go back to johto or kanto or to the next plot point. nothing. and then I didn't touch another pokemon game until my mid 20s.
I remember being mad at how there was nothing but Battle Tower but didn't get too pissed because I didn't play Gen 2 and only played Gen 1. Kek I think I would have actually been mad if I'd played Gen 2 honestly, but never read this perspective before to realise it. I was pissed with Emerald though, since that shit didn't have anything to do for Post Game either. In the end I loved FRLG so much more in Gen 3 since the remakes were a brand new thing and seeing Bill after beating Blaine blew my mind kek. Being a dumb kid made it extremely annoying to figure out how to trade with RS though.
>I remember wandering around aimlessly looking for the trigger to go back to johto or kanto or to the next plot point
Same. I was absolutely convinced there was a way to get the SS Tidal to go back to Johto. Or if I only I could find the right room somewhere in Hoenn, I could unlock the time machine and trade up my bros.
Fans who weren't around in those days have no recollection that the Gen2-3 transition was every bit as hated and railed against as SwSh's dexit
I was never bothered by being cut off from Kanto or Johto to be honest. Hoenn had a crapton of optional and hidden areas to find and side content to keep me busy, it never felt like I needed to take a boat to go some place to fight another 8 gym leaders to have something to do.
So I have to buy a Gamecube to collect the old Pokemon? This a business strategy for Nintendo’s weak console?
How exactly is buying Colosseum for Ho-Oh any different from buying a copy of Gold for Ho-Oh?
>How exactly is buying Colosseum for Ho-Oh any different from buying a copy of Gold for Ho-Oh?
Gold was on handheld, and Colosseum had insane completion requirements.

>How exactly is buying Colosseum for Ho-Oh any different from buying a copy of Gold for Ho-Oh?
You didn't, because Ho-oh is in all 3 games.
>Colosseum had insane completion requirements.
Having more content with a good reward behind is fun.
>How exactly is buying Colosseum for Ho-Oh any different from buying a copy of Gold for Ho-Oh? >Hoennfag is larping as a pokeboomer to defend his shit games
Gamecube objectively had better specs and most third party games ran at 60fps vs. the PS2 which struggled 30, the retarded mini disk is what scared devs away

zoomers projecting their anachronistic priorities onto the past, no one knew what a frameskip was nor gave a flipping fuck
I had a gamecube and not a ps2 or xbox, loved it. your post is just abhorrent and I'm letting you know. but if you're going to bring up stats gamecube sold pretty poorly compared to competitors and other nintento consoles.
Damn epically owned by saying hte gamecube flopped which i already said because of those retarded disk

epically owned because not a single person back then paid attention to things like "frames per second". these are people that grew up playing 16 bit games and a fully 3D game at 15fps looked incredible to them. I remember the first time I saw a demo of wind waker at a store I thought the future was here. you're projecting anachronistic criticisms onto the past.
zoomers being obsessed with graphics and performance ruined video games. so much development resources are required to make games pretty and run well that the average game is a soulless husk with very little content meant to sell on looks alone. they bitch endlessly about games too even when they are pretty and run well due to the lack of content they demanded in redirecting development resources into performance and graphics. people that grew up playing fucking yellow version do not care at all that there are frame skips in SV, and were not discussing FPS when comparing PS2 and gamecube with their friends, and if they did they'd get blank stares.
What the fuck? I beat the game and there's only 1 place to go to now. The last games let you go to Kanto but they couldn't work something in for the next generation handheld?
WTF is shit? It looks way worse than the other GBA games. >Where are the day and night cycles? >Why is the music such shit? >why can't I transfer my old pokemon? >wtf is a nature? >WHY THE FUCK ARE N64 MODELS BEING USED ON THE GAMECUBE?!
What the fuck is this overdesigned garbage, looks like Digimon. Can't wait to ditch them and go back to Johto.
digimon have anatomy this piece of shit doesn't
I just played arc the lad last year, it's leagues better than this trash. Go play some real rpgs dudes. You are hurting yourselves.

I played other rpgs during the gen2-gen3 gap, I took one look the shit in toysr'us stapled on GBA's, said "yeah, fuck no", and bought megaman battlenetwork 1&2 instead.
Sorry kids, I just entered freshman year of high school. I had fun but there's no way you'll catch me playing this series again. They don't even look like pokemon anymore.
What the FUCK do you mean I have to wait for them to add Qwilfish to the game? Not just that, but I have to buy another game to get some of these forgettable Pokemon? This Dexit shit is ruining pokemon forever.
wtf happend to the animated sprites?
wtf where's johto?
wtf why are these new pokemon so ugly?
wtf why can't i transfer my old pokemon up?
>wtf why can't i transfer my old pokemon up?
According to people 16 years from now on, you didn't actually complain about this.
This game sucks, I don't wanna play Pokemon anymore...

Imagine.

Do DIYlets really?
Sadly, yes. Radio shack is gone, tech companies WANT people to be afraid to open up and fix things so they'll buy new things instead, and nobody but niche hobbyists are learning these skills these days.
.... Radio Shack isn't gone. I was just in one yesterday to look at the newest MP3s
Why aren't the sprites animated?

the people who defend gen 3 today are the ones who started with it because everybody else dipped

You actually had to do so to get Ho-Oh for starters.

Xbox didn’t do that much better than GameCube
PS2 won the sales race by a landslide

i owned that strategy guide
Pass, I'll wait for the third version. What's it going to be called, anyways? Pokemon Diamond?
this ugly chicken looks like a digimon

another handheld game? What a bummer
WHY IS GHOST PHYSICAL AAAAAAAAAAAA
if you beat the elite 4 100 times and complete the pokedex, you can go into may's bedroom and a sex scene will start
Half the Pokedex is missing! If I can't import my Stantler over then I'm not buying it!
I think Ruby and Sapphire are okay. I dig the atmosphere and Torchic is cute. People need to chill on the water.
Sex with Gardevoir
I want to have rough sex with Steven Stone
itt: zoomers seething about what is objectively the best gen.
They aren't seething about Gen 4 in this thread, are you lost?
gen 3 will always be the zoomer gen and gets extra defense from ORASS
Hoenn is that awkward middle ground between millennials and zoomers
What the FUCK do you mean I have to wait for them to add Qwilfish to the game? Not just that, but I have to buy another game to get some of these forgettable Pokemon? This Dexit shit is ruining pokemon forever.
i can trade you a quilfish my brother got an action replay for christmas
Literately unplayable unless they add everyone's favorite pokemon, Granbull
