I must've gotten Pokemon Silver around the time. That game was the best. Not just quality-wise but for all the then-novel gimmicks, too. Even just the idea of a videogame being able to tell the time and date, and have like weekly events and shit, like an actual world parallel to yours, seemed really mind-blowing to me.
Wind Waker came out around the time. I distinctly remember her getting annoyed at the art style before it was released. She thought that shit was fricking gay; she would've rather played kino next-gen griity OoT instead. I have fond memories watching her play WW as it came out: though.
