The previous 2 big console releases of the game were OoT and MM, 2 games that were more "classically" designed with mostly traditional fantasy designs, except for maybe gorons. Then, when the gamecube was revealed, Nintendo showcased a tech demo featuring an even more realistic and "dark" zelda with incredible high res graphics for the time, so when nintendo said they were working on a new zelda, they expected that type of art direction. Wind Waker's initial backlash was one of the first big examples of subverted expectations in a detrimental way that generation.
I didn't mind, always loved toon link's design, but I understoos where some of the fan outrage came from.
I know, it also didn't help that insecure console war kids got even more "kiddy console" stuff thrown at them.
Can't remember if Paper Mario got the same backlash from people who grew up with SMRPG, then again, I don't remember the game being that talked about back then as it is today.
The original games still exist. If you don't like it, don't play it, and if the series goes down the shitter, then so be it. It's not like you expected another Monkey Island anyway.

it is a guilty pleasure of mine but the game is indeed shit., it is incredibly short, most guns are garbage and the ending just comes out of nowhere. if you want to play it just remember to disable the weird camera in the options menu.

Yeah. It always struck me as weird that people would resort to rotoscoping when animation is perhaps the only place where you can not only get away with exaggerated movements, but where exaggeration can thrive, but can be played into. "Forced animation" is soulful.
Rotoscoping is just a technique, it can be utilized well or poorly just like anything else. Fleisher Superman is a highly influential piece of animated media that still looks fantastic to this day and it heavily utilized rotoscoping.

HL:A is 80 gigs, not including whatever S&box would need. Mounting it isn't as easy as keeping CS:S on the hard drive.

I just played bought and finished this game recently. I think it's interesting how when you start playing, the nonsense menus, giant life bar and border, and music are so distracting but eventually you just get used to it and it becomes normal.

it is a guilty pleasure of mine but the game is indeed shit., it is incredibly short, most guns are garbage and the ending just comes out of nowhere. if you want to play it just remember to disable the weird camera in the options menu.
It's the only game I have ever played that made me physically nauseous because of how it looks. The camera bob and blur fricked me up. It's also only 2 hours long. The idea of it, the mood, is good. However, the actual game is basically a fart that drifts away as quickly as it arrived.
By far the most asshurt I've seen over a zelda title.

Rotoscoping is just a technique, it can be utilized well or poorly just like anything else. Fleisher Superman is a highly influential piece of animated media that still looks fantastic to this day and it heavily utilized rotoscoping.

Well to be fair I haven't watched that many sports animes, I watched and read Eyeshield 21, which was good but I don't know that much about american football to be honest, I liked that the one guys super power was being black, kek. I really liked Giant Killing and Ganbare! Kickers, I also enjoyed that one badminton anime with the muscular tomboy, great art. I think I liked Ping Pong the Animation so much because it was in large about the friendship between Peco and Smiles and how Smiles wanted Peco to use his full potential, stop being a gay and become the hero again.
One Outs is really good if you like Kaiji or Akagi.
