Back when I was a kid, before I learned that Natures affected stats, I headcanoned that their Nature was the Pokemon's personality.
I mean, it is?
>be child
>cool it says my Pokémon is “Brave”
>what if that’s supposed to mean that it’s brave?? Omg my headcanon is so autistic, I’m basically schizomaxxing rn fr
I mean I still believe this lol even with mints, I just think it's a fusion of the 2 nature's.
>used to decorate all of my PC boxes to look like different environments
>when I put one of my pokemon in the PC, think about what environment he might wanna be in and put him in the appropriate box so he's comfortable
Extremely unbased that they don't let you do that anymore
Kinda variation on a theme, I always name my box 1 “Home” or “Home Base” or “Squad” or something and in older games I’d give it a cozy or aesthetically-pleasing bg like the Pokémon Center themed ones or whatever
My main team if I ever had to store them, and other beloved fellas go in that one
i give to all my team members a personality
that's being normal, girly looking mons are girls, and male looking mons are male
My trainer ID always has to end in 5 or 0, it really bothers me otherwise
And, whatever I catch must have 10 IVs minimum in their best respective stats, and a nature that doesn't inhibit said stats
That's about it, I think
Some things I've done multiple times in different runs:
>catch everything in Pokeballs. nothing else.
>ev train as early as possible, even if the mon your using sucks and/or the grind takes forever.
>there must be a theme to the team (share a color, type, a letter, the team was caught on the same day, etc.)
>BST of each mon on the team must be 500+. No weaklings allowed.
>no legendaries/mythicals. i'm not carried.
>mons must not share any type. so no charizard and dragonite on the same team because that's two flying types bozo.
>do not nickname ever, for this devalues your Pokemon.
Things I used to do but no longer do:
>must always have a fire, water, and grass type on the team.
>must have a pseudo on the team.
>nature must be neutral bc i'd rather neutral than sucky. (docile, serious, hardy, bashful, quirky.)
>don't use TMs. your pokemon are strong enough to never use them.
XY was awesome for EV autists because you could do super training the second you caught your Pokémon. I had a blast with those games because I could play without worrying my Pokémon were suboptimal
Yeah, I just don't understand why they stopped this. Also, it was an enjoyable minigame
>enjoyable
Now you know why Game Freak removed it.
And you were able to get a ribbon if you completed all the mini game stages
>>do not nickname ever, for this devalues your Pokemon.
Eww, you're a soulless Boomer.
>>do not nickname ever, for this devalues your Pokemon.
?
>>do not nickname ever, for this devalues your Pokemon.
Wtf???? Nicknaming makes the pokemon feel more special, without a nickname it just feels like yet another copy of the same pkmn, but with the nickname it gives it more of its own identity.
>Oh, so you're confused ? I don't care, you'll die if you don't want to use your move
>Legendaries are made for BPB (Big Premier Ball)
>Pokemon MUST have a good nature. If it's a unique one (starter, legendary), I'll reset
>EV train as soon as possible
>If I struggle to capture one, give him a humiliating name
>Male Ralts are named "Trapdevoir"
my team HAS to be arranged in the order i caught them, if i have to swap a pokemon to the lead of my party for a battle, the team has to be rearranged as normal after
I never nickname my mons because I just end up thinking of them as their species anyhow
My team is full female except for pokemon that look like females (ex. Gardevoir)
When i replay one of the games, i always choose the first starter i choosed for that game again.
I can replace the rest of my previous team mons, just not the starter
kind of an alternative of this, I always try to have my teams have 3 females, 3 males. I prefer that kinda balance.
I do the same thing. Often it happens by chance since I guess that is the most likely outcome with 50/50 odds (not always the case though)
I swap my starter Pokemon out once it evolves. I go out of my way to use shitmons and/or mediocre mons (unless it is irredeemable like Unknown)
I don't have a favorite Pokemon, or don't know it.
(me)
Turns out it's Gastrodon, nice
As for actual autism
>nickname every Pokemon I intend to use
>names will be the first thing that comes to mind, can be literally whatever if it fits the alloted text slots/passes filters ("crackpipe", "ay eie", reference to another game, pronouncable gibberish etc)
More of a bad habit, but
>skip as many trainers as possible to get to destination
>get slightly frustrated when I'm inevitably underleveled for the next major battle
must have 1:1 ratio of males to females in party
My starter is always female no matter what.
Ever since my first romhack in 2013 I've been keeping a graphic that I update every run with new Pokemon I've used, encouraging me to almost always use new shit. I have virtually nothing in gens 1-3 left, and a handful of gen 4, gen 5+ still has a lot though.
And yet the most dreaded form of poketism is yet to rear its head...
Not being able to use the same pokemon as your rival/important NPCs.
That seems more like an OCD thing than autism, wanting everything to be “correct”. I’d reset for female Delphox just because it looks like a woman
My team:
Can't have repeating types.
Must have EVERY type represented by at least 1 damage-dealing move.
Must have 3 physical attackers and 3 special attackers.
Cannot have 2 pokemon holding the same item.
I nickname my Pokemon after yuri characters
if Im leveling something up just to evolve it and I plan to release it, I make sure it has the best moves it can at the level it evolves at, so that when I release it it will have good moves to defend itself with in the wild. sometimes Ill even teach it a good TM or two
