This, however, the trailer is one of the worst examples of a "bullshot" of all time. The game is good. The marketing and practices are actual poison.
DS2 being a bad game aside (FRICK ADP) I still consider this to be straight up false advertising. They literally took out the lighting they advertised as one of the main selling points of the game. That and I was in the Closed network beta that ran from like 2-5am my time and the graphics in THAT were even better than they were in the final release. It's crazy that I even bought another FromSoft game after that in all honesty.
I was 11 or something when I saw this. I remember thinking "Wow we are really in the future now, all my hopes and dreams are coming true" and then was so dissapointed that I ended up hating Killzone forever.
But it wasn't all bad, it taught me a lesson that I will never forget, cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from YHWH he is like a shrub in the desert and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited saltland
>I'm sure the old gamer mags were a gold mine for this shit.
Not really because not only was it unfathomable to misrepresent the graphics, they didn't have the resources to do it. The hardware people had at home especially for consoles was pretty much the hardware that the developers were working with.
Unfathomable to misrepresent the graphics? Did you actually read the gamer mags back in the day. The Ads were nothing but bullshitting you on how good the graphics were. Lol
You mean marketing lingo boasting about how great the graphics were? That's not even the same thing and for a lot of games it really was the best for the time.
>so big it needs the expansion pack
They honestly couldn't figure out what was going on as to why it wouldn't work on the 64, but with the pack it was 100% fine. They had no choice but to package it with the game.
I remember how mgs 3 and gta San Andreas would have all these features that were either cut or never going to be in the game at all and were pure fantasy. When the mgs 3 demo finally came out in magazines I remember spending like 2 hours trying to figure out how to use the enemy radio to call off alerts and never figuring out how until I realized it was bs.
>using the codec to call off enemy alerts
I remember doing that, had to take one hostage to get the code and it only worked once in a particular area. Plus healing radio and shit.
websites were the bad ones
there is STILL a 'cheat' on a few websites about using the transfer pak on the N64 to transfer banjo-tooie save data to banjo-kazooie
people still play and defend cyber punk and that other game, I can't remmeber the name of it but it was about flying to different planets or something. But these companies actively lied and charged the foolish consumer full price for unfinished slop. And they bought it and complained, but they still bought it. This is why video games are bad, because the consumers are seriously idiots. I'm not even trying to be mean, but you can just about sell them anything and they will buy it. Things are starting to change a little bit but the fact that people even gave Cyberpunk enough of a chance for the devs to update it enough to be playable means that gamers are less like consumers and more like addicts. When you sell a junkie a sack that is 1/5 drugs, they will still come and buy from you when there is nowhere else to get it from. Not to mention GTA and Skyrim selling the same game for ten years
cyberpunk is an odd one, originally thought it was disgusting soulless shit, the type of aaa dreck you see western studios shit out, disgusting nonsense like far cry or assassin's creed
started 2077 two days ago and it does have some strong artistic merits, alongside a lot of the jank and hacky shit like gutter rap music and hamfisted symbolism
but i would not say this game was a total failure or a disgrace
talking about bullshots. I remember reading on old mags (and probably online too) in the mid 2000's that screenshots were ever a bit better when released by devs because they worked on pc and devkits are slighty more powerful compared to the user counterpart (xbox is an example) and that was acknowledged by the journalists themselves in previews and news. obvslly it was marketing too
i think they were acting so that their body perfectly matched the character they were playing with. never bothered to look at what was going on in that presentation.
but there is no way it tracks your body that well with the hands occluded, that thing barely even worked at all
molyneux still swears to this day that this entire demo was 100% real and the kinect consumers got was absolutely nothing like the prototype they were working with; it was completely stripped down because of pricing
KEK you had to have mental problems to fall for that video
they didn't even bother making it "believable" like the autocomplete that supposedly passes the turing test that we have now. it was a literal skit from beginning to end.
>molyneux
love how they used whatever "credibility" this shill had to push their scam
would people believe the video if it was presented by that braindead brazilian that worked at microsoft
He didnt learn a thing from the Milo scam, a few years later he started working on Godus, another scam that never delivered the promised price to the winner of the contest. I wonder what hes up to this day.
Curiosity was the contest. playing 4 hrs of unfinished Godus and earning money from that game in some fashion (pending) was his reward for winning curiosity
I would sort of believe that, given the original Kinect was the used much of the precursor technology that became HoloLens. Not the consumer version, but for sure the Microsoft internal Kinect hardware was a lot more capable.
Better picture. Both this and Active Enterprises were Florida based fly by night software companies in 1980s Miami. Almost certainly coke money involved
>Do these people still work in the industry?
yes the holomeme was "developed" by the same moron >Did the get blacklisted after the fact?
he was recently fired for sexually harassing women
That whole gen was really egregious with bullshots
I still found KZ2 to be one of the better looking games during early-mid PS3 era, it was so fricking atmospheric too.

mods?
2005 was 18 years ago anon... I'm so sorry to have to let you know like this
i was 15
Tell me you’re a moron without telling me you’re a moron.
Fricking spore. That was a valuable life lesson for little me.
My first experience with watching something turn to shit before my very eyes. I followed back in 2005 and saw all the downgrades that kept coming in.
>Also Spore
it was still fun at least
>obviously fake CG trailer
>the release product looked better
PS5 doesn't even look this good. Wonder how many more generations it'll take.
the final game ended up looking way better
I don't have any. Shame this thread is dying. This looks pretty funny.
I'm sure the old gamer mags were a gold mine for this shit.

The game still took advantage of the extra power, but yes it needed to be packed with the game in order to work.
That's an rumor npc's like to say over and over again. It's not at all true and they intended it to ship with the expansion.
God it was so based tho
HE

that's not a thing
it's a total fabrication
The legend...
Jewbisoft
Is it really bullshit if you can actually enable this version of Watch Dogs on PC?
people still play and defend cyber punk and that other game, I can't remmeber the name of it but it was about flying to different planets or something. literally mods keep the game alive, it's new elder scrolls lol
The bones are there, but they fricked so much of it and just taped together the unfinished shit.
you are thinking of No Man's Sky
this trailer made me not want the game, it just seemed off, the van chase part seemed so false that it repulsed me
It's not a fabrication. This is a game before they downgraded the graphics because of the Xbox One and PS4.
No, I'm sure they said it was a fabrication.
>because of the Xbox One and PS4
cope till you die, Cyberpunk 2077 denier
>2008 lies
>TV will chat with you
>will carry over saves from the previous games
>can enter/destroy anything
>you can race ANYWHERE

Even the lies were better back in the day, mhmm..
Total shit

Total kino
Fify
utterly braindead fanboy response
I've met mudcrabs more fearsome than you
Stop talking already!
The best thing to come out of this was the panty peek.
The what?
At 2:49
goddamn you really need to get laid
Is that it?
talking about bullshots. They were 15 years too early to have convos with AI.
i actually miss bullshots, i know ubisoft still does them anyways
>i actually miss bullshots,
morons get nostalgic over anything. There are literally people here that miss the brown bloom generation of shooters.
i look like that
PS4 vs Switch
My god, it's so advanced it knows what moves the players will do
i think they were acting so that their body perfectly matched the character they were playing with. never bothered to look at what was going on in that presentation.

>i think they were acting so that their body perfectly matched the character they were playing with
UH HURR DURR DO YA THINK SO?
Lmao moron
i meant that the animations weren't 100% in the control of the player at all times but they were pretending that they were
>Lmao moron
that is an actual game that has actually released. it is not like milo dumb dumb
He's just reacting on stage right?? There's no way they're actually showing off motion controls like this??
?t=103
what the hell was their problem?
Kinect was literally sold as your own private holodeck and people believed it.
nobody believed it, it was a laughing stock
it sold 35 million units
lots of people bought that paperweight
No lies, Molyneux never lied, his tech was too powerful and was suppressed by the powers that be
molyneux still swears to this day that this entire demo was 100% real and the kinect consumers got was absolutely nothing like the prototype they were working with; it was completely stripped down because of pricing
molyneux is also a notorious liar so his word isn't really worth much
KEK you had to have mental problems to fall for that video
they didn't even bother making it "believable" like the autocomplete that supposedly passes the turing test that we have now. it was a literal skit from beginning to end.

Molyneux could tell me the sky is blue and I wouldn't believe him

Stand back.
that's just despicable, something the lonely fat kids would make up in class.
A lot of these things came from drug money
Better picture. Both this and Active Enterprises were Florida based fly by night software companies in 1980s Miami. Almost certainly coke money involved
Uktravision has no games
90% of kickstarter projects
Starfield's bout to come out
I wonder what it's like to be involved in a farce like this? Do these people still work in the industry? Did the get blacklisted after the fact?
>Do these people still work in the industry?
yes the holomeme was "developed" by the same moron
>Did the get blacklisted after the fact?
he was recently fired for sexually harassing women
I want to live in a world where people like these are executed for their fabrications and deceit.
The should be alive and miserable instead. That sends a way better message.
Kinect was the first major time I learned to never trust a companys promises ever again. I was an still am moronic for thinking Milo was real
Who was even the target audience? Lonely 50-70yo single women?
boy lovers
barren spinsters
everyone
The Wii audience
