I have beaten this game. How tf did you come to the conclusion that it's like Hot line Miami? Its far from it.

      >it's basically Hotline Miami
      so you've never played it

      >small arenas with a set number of enemies you have to kill to proceed
      >have to strategize which enemies to focus on first
      >one hit kill
      >instant restart at the start of the arena when you die
how is it not like HM?

he's right, dumbasses. The formula is the same

Because there is nothing to talk about. It is a very simple game with no strategy involved.

      >it's basically Hotline Miami
      so you've never played it

      Same principle as hotline miami.

from only having watched a minute or so of hotline miami gameplay I can kind of see where you are coming from. The quick deaths and kills on (what I assume are) fixed stages as you put together a combination of who to kill in what order and how.

Either way Ghostrunner was a fantastic game though the fight with that lady at the end was underwhelming

Is the DLC any good? Just bought it, so I guess it doesn't matter. I'll play it anyway.

Did the devs make a dlc? Heard about it but never went back to the game after finishing it

Yeah there’s DLC. I haven’t played it though

DLC kind of mediocre, they went in a weird direction where they tried to focus more on combat. Your jump and dash are both fricking huge compared to base game and makes the parkour kind of stupid proof. However it also makes movement less precise because your only two options are both massive leaps.

For some reason they made another boss similar to HEL from the base game where you parry when the sword flashes, why they decided to make another copy of the shittiest and worst part of the base game is mind boggling. The other two bosses are better, and feel almost like an MMO boss in a wayin how they play.

Naturally it looked great because its Ghostrunner, and the story was alright. Don't really like Mara as a character and her voice actor is complete trash, sounds like she's an idiot or something.

One indefensible aspect of the DLC is just how buggy it is. NONSTOP glitching through terrain and random annoying buggy stuff like having an animation for pulling yourself up an object play, except you don't actually pull yourself up meaning you just fall down and probably die. Really annoying honestly, and this isn't day one release complaints, it is STILL like this even now.

Overall its not worth a the price at all, nor is it really worth playing. I don't regret getting it that much simply because I really loved Ghostrunner and I want the studio to make more games. I think they just listened to the wrong complaints about the base game and ended up making a shitty action focused Ghostrunner.

pic related. It's a solo/co-op jank RPG with open world exploration, dungeons and survival elements. It's probably the most fun I've had playing co-op since fricking around with custom co-op maps in Portal 2

Loads of dungeons and places of interest to go to. Also loads of empty spaces and walking too. And loads of jank. Still the most fun I've had playing co-op in years

any recommendation for first time players? It will be a long time before I play it with a friend but I want to be ready lest he gives up 5 minutes into it.

          Is the narrative good?

            Anonymous

The narrative is barely there. The start of the game puts you into a tough situation and there may be consequences if you don't find a way out of your predicament, so work towards the goal you're presented and finish it quickly. The environment outside settlements is harsh especially if you're unprepared, make sure you have a torch, a tent, items like potions or food etc. and be very careful of any enemies at the beginning of the game. The combat is very janky and stiff so don't hesitate to find ways to cheese and gank enemies together. When possible, try to get better backpacks as you want to be able to carry as much as possible. Also be careful with which skilltrees you begin learning as the game doesn't warn you that you cannot learn them all (I think you can only fully learn three iirc)

thank you kindly, I'll screencap this and hopefully remember this in a while.....I bought that game on my friend's xbox in 2020.

                Anonymous

Oh and at the end of the game the main story forces you to do back and forth between settlements, if you have already explored everything and value your sanity like me and my friend you can use cheats to teleport with a clear conscience (if xbox has that option)
You're not going to miss much even if you ignore the main story and just explore. The exploration is the meat of the game anyways

not only for HP anon. In Outward you need food and potions to restore stamina because as you traverse you get a permanent debuff until you rest or use stamina consumables. Also snowy areas frick you over if you're not warm, and for hot areas you'll want heat resistance

People don't talk about it on this board for a few reasons.
            >They haven't played it
            >They have played it and they got filtered cause they're shit at the game
And don't say "I finished the game so I didn't get filtered and I thought it was shit!" ahahah, no, if you struggled a lot / raged at all that means you got filtered which is why you think the game is bad. Anyway OP yeah, if you ever see a game that's not popular + difficult for shitters then you can bet your ass it won't be talked about much here.

i've known about it since the steam next fest, it's very ok, it's like playing genji without the queue times

Cool, hope you have fun it's pretty unique so enjoy it while you can. I should have mentioned, if anyone has a complaint about the game that is tied to how much they suck, then they shouldn't have an opinion. If someone doesn't like the game for valid reasons then it's okay, but most of the complaints I've seen comes from shitters.
