>wow it's morrowind but stuck in a shit game
damn.... what a loss bros.....
>wow it's morrowind but stuck in a shit game
That's just OG morrowind though
That's cool. Who's gonna play it?
me
kys Black person
Why tho? It's not like Oblivion was a great game. New graphics won't make it better.
All fricking moronic. I hope morons never donated to these
Skyblivion looks to be a straight up improvement over the original game in every way. The landscape and exploration areas are being completely reworked by hand, while quests, cities, and towns are unchanged. It’ll have the best of both oblivion and Skyrim gameplay. It already works in an alpha state and they have shown consistent progress with competent project management. I’m looking forward to it.
>Skyblivion looks to be a straight up improvement over the original game in every way.
Did they implement spellmaking? Can I cast spells without needing to have a free hand like in Skyrim? Can I boost my attributes so I can zip around at super speeds and bound fifty yards at a time?
If not then they failed. Elder Scrolls games are only fun when you abuse the magic system in creative ways, which is something Skyrim felt really limited on outside alchemy abuse, I guess.
If they managed it then I'm curious to see the outcome.
Honestly Bethesda games would benefit more from open source engine ports/recreations like openmw instead of the fanbase engaging in the endless loop of shoving each game into its respective sequel.
Yes to the first two, no to attributes.
>Elder Scrolls games are only fun when you abuse the magic system in creative ways,
It's fun ONE time. Alchemy intelligence stacking is not some great mystery to solve.
TES games are fun because of exploration. Oblivion is hampered by having the worst world design. Not talking about choice of environment, but the fact you can mostly run straight ahead with nothing you need to get around. Also very few hand placed points of interest. Morrowind and Skyrim were much better at terrain being an obstacle and environment detailing. Oblivion also had the worst levelled lists and dungeons, so there's little interesting to discover in the wild.
If Skyblivion improves on the world design and dungeons, that will be an upgrade.
I love how morons like you always bring up donations, it establishes how you have no idea what you're talking about

Amazing, it took you two (2) hours to reply and didn't even get what I was talking about. That desperate for (You)s?
Just admit you donated to a dead project bro
>no argument
I'll accept the concession
Good.
This one was fricking awful
>haha we couldn't code AI behavior
>so just placed a bunch of bedrolls on every floor in every building
That was the last time I tried it.
These "remakes" are really stupid and uncreative. Give me more Beyond Skyrim or TR content instead.
Fug I remember joining the skywind discord probably about 6 years ago now and saw this argument about textures
I suggested using the Skyrim recommended hardware as a benchmark (it was still 32-bit back then) and getting everything to 1k resolution before moving on with the higher res texture options
I was told to get a better pc and banned from the discord
Skywind never had any hope. All the intelligent morrowind fans were working on OpenMW and mods for it like normal map textures and more advanced gameplay mods. Anyone who is both chained to morrowind but too dumb to work on OpenMW wound up in Skywind. The worst of both worlds: pseudo intellectual faux nerds incapable of learning, critical thinking, or growing in any way.
>average Morrowind fan when someone hasn't talked about their favorite game for 0.5 seconds
i can see skyblivion being released but i have a hard time believing two big community remakes can be pulled off and im not sure if skywind has a team lead as good as skyblivion's (rebelzize, i thought the project was going to fall apart when his gf died and he seemed like he was going to drop out but didnt)
the VA i've heard so far seem really good so this post is a bit strange
Anon, this picture is from almost a decade ago
Almost a decade, and Skywind still hasn't been released.
Sure, but most of those problems are fixed by now
They powered their way through bad management by just being stubborn and autistic enough to not quit
they wasted an extra 8 or so years because they were stubborn. thats not a success
>Sure, but most of those problems are fixed by now
How would you know, it’s fricking vaporware
>Sure, but most of those problems are fixed by now
If it were fixed it would be out, moron. You're making up anecdotes of success despite there being zero evidence of success and ample evidence to the contrary. It will never be finished, and even if it ever DOES come out it will be in another decade. Which, by the way, Elder Scrolls 6 will be out by then and people won't even care about Skyrim's obsolete bullshit engine anymore anyway. Even Bethesda is moving faster than the Skywind team and we're on like year 8 of no games. (76 doesn't count as a game, obviously.).
>Months-old gameplay isn't evidence
>But an anonymous anecdote from fricking 2015 is
lol
>Don't expect it to come out 2016.
Kek this aged well
>Dude trust me
>10/12/15
>wont come out in 2016
Guess he was right. Seems like all the good modders left a long time ago, these days im hearing more about some modder drama, rather than the mods themselves
>Skywind dev actually posts Unlisted videos here showing off his dev test room and talking about the project and how they're organized
>ignored
>random dude in 2015 posts how he totally is part of the project (source: dude trust me)
>infallible proof
I remember when the devs used to astroturf here and throw tantrums whenever someone criticized it. TES is a cancer and people who like it need to stay as far away from me as possible.
tamriel rebuilt still going strong and dropping amazing updates, morrowind chads will never be defeated
What has more progress, FO4 New Vegas or Capital Wasteland?
FO4 New Vegas for sure
FO4 NV isn’t dead?
Capital Wasteland released Point Lookout last year
F4Nv released... a crutch, literally
>F4Nv released... a crutch, literally
Doesn't that team regularly release mods for F4 featuring stuff specifically made for F4NV.
Five years ago, they did. But they haven't released anything in years, and in response to Point Lookout they literally released a model of a crutch from cgtrader as a weapon and nothing else.
>in response to Point Lookout
Don't both teams have a heavy overlap of the same devs. Can't imagine one group releasing something "in response" to another project that has a lot of the same group involved.
>Don't both teams have a heavy overlap of the same devs.
Five years ago, they did, but internal discord troony drama made them separate the projects. In response to the complete separation that happened right around the Point Lookout release, a small group of Capital Wasteland devs made Project Mojave as a flex, a short adventure with several locations from New Vegas.
In general, Capital Wasteland team collaborates with other F4 projects such as London, Miami, Cascadia, etc, while F4NV got coopted by discord trannies and cucked out in a complete echo-chamber. They promised to release London by the end of this year, by the way.
capital wasteland because they are trying to make fo3, not how they can implement jetpack in the game like F4nv.
Capital Wasteland mogs the shit out F4NV
>OP doesn't know the definition of the words 'dead project'
why do they limit these recreations to the same series? lets get fallout 3 in skyrim or lets get gothic 2 in skyrim
I did once think about the Mojave being ported to Skyrim. No quests, just the map and interior cells all populated with a shitton of Skyrim bandits and call it a day; would be worth a 'playthrough'
i dont really get why some people get so worked up about these projects
I don't get why these recreation projects even exist in the first place. All they do is siphon talent from new, original adventure projects.
>All they do is siphon talent from new, original adventure projects.
that's a narrow way of looking at it, a lot of these would have no interest in modding outside of it, a lot would use it as practice, a lot will start off with this project (who might not bother otherwise) and go on to make mods in general
>I don't get why these recreation projects even exist in the first place.
They're portfolio stuffers for amateur devs/artists. I don't understand why so many people have trouble grasping this.
If people work on these mods because they grew up with Morrowind/Oblivion and would like to see them recreated in higher fidelity, they wouldn't go and join another random team if these projects were to not exist. And those that do want to create new stuff not already established are working on Beyond Skyrim
Which one of these Morroskyblivionwind mods had the devs hiding a bunch of unironic gay and troony shit in there? Like one of them had a barrel with 'be gay' in the daedric alphabet plastered on it.
beyond skyrim
Pretty much any bloody Stargate mod for any game imaginable.
>Skywind got an engine wizard to add cool new mechanics
>They're not releasing any of it for wider use until the mod is done
Frick those guys
See: Xilandro still not having released The Frontier's cars separate from that turd of a mod
>MOGS every Beyond Goyrim in your path
>muh heckin giant map
There is no way they can create enough interesting content to make this worth exploring
Does it have content or is it just explorable area?
the main release has content but it's just a small cut out area they polished the shit out of
the big wip map is mostly barren
I see. Is the content that’s there any good?
I don't get that. Why would you keep creating a huge amount of terrain instead of adding content worth playing for the already existing one?
Because the mod's whole point is adding mainland Morrowind to the game
I see, they just want to do a theme park walk simulator
Not sure what the other anon is talking about, but everything including just recently 1a and 1b that isn't darkened or has a number beside it (with the exception of 2b which is just a planned rework of said area) is basically feature complete with fully fleshed out questlines, NPC's, interiors, etc. I think the actual quest count for the mod is now around 400-500 quests including guild questlines and some house questlines. Even though the mod still has a ways to go there's a shit ton to do in the mod, it's definitely a lot more than walk around and look at pretty places. There's enough content to do an entire playthrough there without ever going to Vfardenfell.
They did what is essentially a neat draft of all the terrain years ago so the incomplete areas are explorable, but any actual release will redo and neaten up most of that landscape and include new assets. They'll start touching up the next area to be released at the same time but they never release an update which is literally just
>here's a bunch of empty landscape with no towns or quests, enjoy
Very, imo. Quest and npc writing isn't always the best but that's mroe obvious in the older areas, some of which they're now redoing. The scale of the mod is so big it's fairly nice just to walk around and see things (I still find random towns and villages I haven't seen before), and the larger towns and cities are fantastic - though some areas are real FPS hogs.
Can't wait to play the whole mod in 2043.
If only we got Morrowind shipped that way. Yes I know it would have taken at least 3 times longer to load and have had issues. I don't care I still would liked to have seen a Morrowind that was the whole land not just the island.
