I love him but Square will never let him do another proper/full scale title on a console ever again.
A nog stole it.
Sure, but what does that have to do with the game's position on a timeline?
Anon.....
After Inafune and Yuji Naka showed what hacks they really are, I gained a lot of respect for Igarashi. He was the only one of those people saying, "I want to make more [classic game] but [big company] won't let me!" that could put his money where his mouth is and make a decent fricking game.
Igarashi never directed a single game in his life except for one called Elder Gate on the ps1.
He had absolutely NOTHING to do with castlevania.
SOTN was Directed, Produced and Programmed by Toru Hagihara.
Igarashi is as big if not a bigger fraud than Inafune, Koshiro, Naka etc combined.
It kinda picks and chooses from multiple different endings. It's been too long so I don't know the specifics, but none of DG1's endings neatly line up with DG2.
I just want another Drakenier. I don't understand how they finally had a big success story and proceeded not to follow it up with anything but mobile games.
He'd probably have a better chance at making another Nier game. Automata threw the series in the limelight, and the Replicant remaster apparently sold well, but Drakengard has always been pretty niche.

Mark Rubin and the other homies making xDefiant. There hasn't been a good movement-rewarding FPS since Black Ops 2. If they frick it up, I'm never touching shooters again
The only really difficult part is the string of inputs starting when there's like thirty seconds left. At that point, you basically just pause, look at the next few rings, unpause, input them as fast as you can, then repeat. I thought Giant Manah was a lot more annoying to fight because she has so much health and her attacks all deal a ton of damage - it becomes an exercise in tedium whittling down her healthbar, with any mistake being severely punished. Resurrected Furiae at least involved some fun dogfighting.
>makes a game >it's irredeemable garbage >makes another game >it's actually pretty good (ending is great) >makes another game >it's great, but the combat is too easy (ending is great) >makes a free DLC with new areas and story stuff for his latest game >it fixes the combat and the story additions are as good as the base game (ending is great)
He's the first Jap I've seen, apart from maybe Yoko Taro, who can consistently write satisfying endings. Jap vidya/anime/manga writers tend to fumble on this part. Narahara Ittetsu also did well in this regard, but he only wrote 2 VNs
The guy scatters a frickton of foreshadowing throughout the game, which makes the twist he employs seem 'legitimate', rather than coming out of nowhere. The endings themselves are dramatic and engaging, leaving the players satisfied. They often reveal new information which recontextualise the events that happened previously in the story. And he doesn't employ any cheap 'it was all a dream/simulation' twists
It may sound simple to do, but so many stories fail to accomplish this it's insane
(Don't) ignore FGO
Big respect for Todd and Mister Zaki.
Big poopoo doodoo extra corn turd in mouth for Kojimbus.
Thank you for reading my thesis.
> One hit wonder.

Absolute homosexual.
Once again but with more buzzwords, please.
Phone games, and putting 2b in random ass games for money. Not a bad strategy, but I want more nier.
Did he really lose the Emil mask? It was so iconic.
He was already on his second mask anyway

I can't believe that homosexual Toby Fox shamelessly stole his mask shtick.
Toby Fox wears a mask? I thought he wears a ballcap and sunglasses when he's not using the Annoying Dog for animated stuff.
>tells the best overarching narrative in the history of video games in your path
Nothin’ personnel kid
But OP already posted Yoko Taro
Why is Drakengard 2 disconnected from Drakengard? Isn't it a direct follow-up to Ending A?
Taro had no involvement in it.
Sure, but what does that have to do with the game's position on a timeline?
Think harder
That's how it was in the DOD3 Complete Guide with the introduction of DOD1.3
>Taro had no involvement in it.
He worked on the cutscenes and the majority of people who worked on it worked on the first game.

I respect him for his love of shotas and twinks

Because mobage is where the money's at. Sadly.
At least we have the anime to look forward to each week, right?

I would love a new Taro game but it's been so long since Automata that I kind of fear his writing may have degraded
There's probably room for a game based on the war against Legion / Red-Eye, but that's pretty much it.
>his writing may have degraded
More like him stopped giving a shit really.
Miyazaki
Kojima
Zachary Barth
Arvi Teikari

I don’t respect insecure losers who hide their faces to create fake personas

Havent played any, but what in particular makes this guys endings so good?
