I eventually gave up on The Witness, Baba is You, and Shenzhen I/O. They're all clever games, but they just take too much time/concentration for my taste. I'd probably enjoy them more if I were smarter and didn't have to spend so long on each puzzle.
If you haven't heard of it yet, you should try The Looker. It's a free parody of The Witness. I think it took me 1-2h to beat it, and it had a lot of genuinely funny moments.
Literally just had an almost god tier run. I was taking basically zero damage with a Shiv build, tons of block, tons of damage with three Shiv buff cards and Finishers to top them off. But then I fought that slug fricker on Floor 2 or 3 and he full countered my build with the stupid turn skip if after 12 cards used. It would've been fine if he didn't heal 100+ fricking HP, what the hell is up with that boss?
I have to admit, it doesn't feel good going through 3 elite fights while barely taking any damage at all only to get completely raped by the slug boss. Maybe I could've had better potions? A card that is just heavy frontloaded damage but I have no idea what card does that as the Silent. Poison might've helped out a ton there but I took no Poison that run.
Forget to mention how completely busted my opener was. Since I have that relic that reduces the cost of a random card to 0 if using a power card, I could potentially get my Shiv's fully buffed and have 3-4 0 cost cards on my opener. It was completely insane. Clearly not insane enough.
i had a run yesterday with 4 upgraded wraith form and snecko eyes
do you know how busted is to have 12 turns of invincibility? it's very fricking busted
All I can see is you ending every fight before 12 turns. Pretty busted.
Time eater notoriously fricks a lot of decks.
It felt pretty punishing. Was really enjoying the run only to get fully countered by a slug. Maybe packing him full of poison and block spamming would've worked.
>It would've been fine if he didn't heal 100+ fricking HP, what the hell is up with that boss?
He always heals to half health once he gets below half health. Use that turn to set up your cards played timer, maybe use some powers, but don't burst him unless you can kill him that turn.
That's good to know, I'll play around that next time and try to kill him before the heal.
Generally it's more reliable to just let him waste his turn healing for ~10, but if you have a lot of burst and you can do 51% of his HP in two turns (easy with Catalyst for example), it's possible to kill him before he gets it off.

Pros regularly have 25-30+ cards in their deck. The only reason you would have a small deck is if you are doing some infinite shit. Removing your base strikes or defends so you can get to your better cards is what people mean by having a smaller deck is better.
Bruh skipping shitty cards is obvious. The size of your deck doesn't fricking matter it's the quality of the cards. Xecnar the best silent player regularly has big decks that win. It's up to the player and what they want their deck to do.
yeah that's true, it even helps certain fights that add curses to your deck, but the biggest mistake beginners make is always taking the card rewards, many times it decreases the quality of your deck
>offers you multiple options so you can work on making a specific build >complains about it even though you can just skip them if they don't fit your deck
I hope the game does makes you feel stupid, because you are.
30 hours with just those 2 characters? I'd ask what ascension, but even the last 2 ascensions shouldn't take that long. So Black person tier IQ (85) at most, definitely.
so I pirated the game on switch, reached the end with all characters and unlocked the increasingly difficult shit, Im at like lvl 6-8, the game is quite fun.
worth getting it on PC? I hear there are cool mods.
any way to port my switch save?
Controller is actually quicker and more comfy than playing with a mouse. and you're gonna take 300 hours to 100% it, so you definitely don't need to frick with mods anytime soon.
I recently got my first clears with the first three characters. I have no idea what to do with the Watcher though. Also I get that fricking knight boss every time I try to do a poison build and he fricks that one hard.
Watcher is the most overpowered character but also the one that's easiest to frick up and have a nice day with. Gotta figure out that stance dancing and not frick up your math in your head
>Swap tge starting relic to a boss one >Pick EVERY SINGLE tranquility you find, NO MATTER WHAT >Avoid meme shit like mantra (blasphemy excluded) or pressure points >Priority on calm and scry, you only need a couple of wrath triggers, or just tantrum >Win
It's like Claw. If it works, it REALLY works, but most of the time it sucks. But I'm still gonna pick it if I see it in act 1 because I want to believe in the dream.
>Swap tge starting relic to a boss one >Pick EVERY SINGLE tranquility you find, NO MATTER WHAT >Avoid meme shit like mantra (blasphemy excluded) or pressure points >Priority on calm and scry, you only need a couple of wrath triggers, or just tantrum >Win
pressure points is the most braindead build, but requires more luck so you can get at least a few of them. anyone who shits on pressure points is a moron. I beat the last 10 ascensions with just pressure point builds, and it was much still much faster than the other characters.
I've never attempted to make a build that makes it easy to make this card your only card, so I don't know how easy it is to do it. what's a good strategy?
I just don't understand. No matter what I do I just instantly die from a mini boss that just decides "I think I'll do 50 damage now". I literally have no idea how to plan for that, I can't get enough defense in hand to avoid it
>beat final boss >you didn't beat the game lol
Does this thing have an actual ending? I got my first win by just doubling my str and taking some dex potions but he ended up having a stroke because he couldn't punch a heart.
You can kill the heart once you've beaten Act 3 with Ironclad, Silent and Defect
But it's not really meant to be a beat it and you're done kinda game, the Ascension climb is the real progression
I'm currently tearing through the city with the rogue guy because shivs are free damage and I got lucky with my treasure so now they do double that damage. FRICK that stabby hand though holy frick why does it do so much damage without ever stopping.
I'm usually fine with puzzle games, and I'm fine if they get difficult over time. This game though, it was filtering me pretty soon into the game. Maybe I just need to figure out the mechanics more.
>been playing this stupid ass game for fricking years
>yesterday i finally got everybody to A19
i'm gonna make it bros
read a guide or at least challenge your current heuristics
Also The Witness. Frick that game

dropped

nah Lifecoach regularly skips cards completely if they aren't strong enough

that's pretty much every card game ever, especially one that reshuffles.

I hope the game does makes you feel stupid, because you are.
then go full stupid
>whirlwind + strength + ungabunga
Any game by picrel
i beat most of them except only got halfway in tis-100, zhenzhen was too hard for me.
>30 hours
>2 victories (?) with Defect and Watcher
Rate my IQ

Watcher is my absolute favourite. The key is changing stances

but Pressure Points is so fun
drawing dead cards isn't fun. You need shit that pushes the needle, not a million moronic buffs
It's like Claw. If it works, it REALLY works, but most of the time it sucks. But I'm still gonna pick it if I see it in act 1 because I want to believe in the dream.

Post cards brainlets think are bad.
Starting from the obvious one
I've never attempted to make a build that makes it easy to make this card your only card, so I don't know how easy it is to do it. what's a good strategy?
get pyramid
oh shit there's an android version too? cool
I got it on my tablet which plays pretty well.
I just don't understand. No matter what I do I just instantly die from a mini boss that just decides "I think I'll do 50 damage now". I literally have no idea how to plan for that, I can't get enough defense in hand to avoid it
umm block it d00d
Do I still need new block cards if I just want to go full unga strength?
Taking 8 or less damage every combat is a tall ask
At least get some Iron Waves or somethnig
You DID light all the lasers without looking it up, right anon?
>RNG games are le SMART
Worst meme ever
slay the spire is brilliant/ A real "RNG" game is something like Path of Exile which is essentially a slot machine, fused with a game.
Winning with the hand you've been dealt with is the epitome of smart
In a multiplayer game against skilled opponents and bluffing mechanics, sure.
Intelligence is dealing with abstractions not other apes
>beat final boss

Against the book, neutralize is great.
>rogue guy
Anon...
Oh shit I didn't notice.
Just beat the headless armor boss after he hyper beamed to to like 2 damage. God damn I'm glad I picked up a dex card.
a decknbuilder is simply not enjoyable if you have a new hand every turn
