Eh, it's harsh at first but when you gain some tools and knowledge the game becomes putty in your hands. It's comically easy to completely lock down basically any enemy, be borderline unkillable, chew through health bars like candy and so on. It's a game with a tough outer shell, but a gooey creamy center. A filter.
The music's not bad.
The levels are mostly meh rather than outright bad. I do remember a lot of them, which is something.
The exploration and atmosphere is total crap though I agree.
The game is basically just a combat-focused looter. It's pretty good at that, not so much at anything else.
>dogshit levels
The levels are fine. >muh exploration
It doesn't need to have exploration.
Atmoshpere and music are fine too, sorry it doesn't resonate with you.
In terms of gameplay it shits all over fromshit.
The worst part about souls games is the bullshit “exploration.” Which mostly just consists of hiding entire areas around bullshit that no one would find without a guide or message. I’m more than happy with Nioh 2’s style.
i actually completely disagree with this. i love niohs creepy twisted old nippon yokai cursed atmosphere and music. i can remember the levels which means they arent dogshit. though truthfully some of them are not the best. also nobody talks about the co-op but this is one the best co-op experiences you can have. you can play the entire game with friends and it has a revive system too.
Bullshit, the game forces you to understand and use all the mechanics, otherwise you're fricked. Most people wont even use ninjutsu and onmyo until they give up.
Even the authors say it's its own genre, masocore. They know it's fricked up difficulty wise.
>inb4 lol I used some cheese by accident so its easy
burst hit detection is fricking janky most of the time, and confusion is another cryptic mechanic for a new player
it takes dedication unlike most other games
>Bullshit, the game forces you to understand and use all the mechanics
Not really
I struggled against the first boss because I wasn't used to the controls and rhythm of the game but after that the game is a piece of cake
Beaten the game by mostly spamming high stance strong attack axe/hammer
>stuck in the section in the beginning where you are engulfed by the evil fog thing and you have to fight a monkey boss while surronded with the balding pregnant midgets
help me out bros
>he got filtered by a fricking enki
Please and I mean PLEASE make a thread when you encounter No-Kami
As for the Enki, just learn it's moveset and punish, kill the bald gaki's first
Don't worry i feel like the monkey kills a lot of people in the beginning. He pretty much only has 3 moves or so. Make sure to always block when he does his two spear swipes into the thrust or wait for the red flash to burst counter him for free damage. Also get the barrier talisman from the onmyo tree, it helps out massively in the dark realm.
I went back to the game after elden ring came out and I was fricking up and barely able to complete the first level. My mindset was just completely fricked up by the change in gameplay.
Katsuie is definitely 100% the most bullshit. That grab is completely ridiculous.
Non-DLC i'd say Lady Osakabe gave me the most resistance
I've heard people have difficulty with her but I never understood why. She's been a complete pushover every time for me, you can just brainlessly wail on the noodles. One of the easiest bosses IMO. Basically all the human bosses are harder to me.
Every enemy feels like chopping down a fricking tree in this game.
The game gives you chainsaws, you just gotta learn to use them.
>Katsuie is definitely 100% the most bullshit. That grab is completely ridiculous.
Let me correct myself: the most bullshit mandatory boss. The fricking odachi mage guy is a million times worse.
I don't understand the trouble people have with this boss. He is extremely easy to read, his attacks are simple, and is straightforward to punish. Also a fricking huge arena. I had way more trouble with Azai Nagamasa.
I just picked fist and spammed the heavy stance poise breaking move the whole game through
game was pretty easy honestly
only the dlc boss with pants on made me struggle
burst hit detection is fricking janky most of the time, and confusion is another cryptic mechanic for a new player
it takes dedication unlike most other games
>burst hit detection is fricking janky most of the time
It's really not.
Probably because TN isn't as independent as we believe, they release games way to often instead of focusing on one game for 2-3 yrs and they're no aaa studio with different team
This game is cocaine of video games, the more you play the more you crave
I really don't under why I'm so addicted with this game even though i hate reskin bosses but here i love fighting bosses back to back and the amount of combat expression you can fo here is insane
Nioh2 ruined me and now i can't enjoy games with slow combat like those of souls games
It's a shame Wo Long kinda sucked.
I can't believe how mid it is following Nioh 2.
How did they manage to downgrade everything from the visual to the music to the gameplay while making it run even worse.
I haven't played RotR but I imagine it's not too much better.
>I haven't played RotR but I imagine it's not too much better.
I loved Nioh 2 to death.
Wo Long demo was so boring I never bought the game.
Absolutely loving Rise of the Ronin currently.
Souls games fricking suck as action games.
Having to wait 2 hours for an opening to get a light attack in is boring as frick.
They're nice enough to explore, but I'd rather replay Nioh any day of the week.
What do I have to be into for Nioh 1
bugchasing
Eh, it's harsh at first but when you gain some tools and knowledge the game becomes putty in your hands. I don't get it, Nioh 2's an easy game with lots of options to make it enjoyable.
The only problem with this game is dogshit levels, exploration, atmosphere, music, etc.
The music's not bad.
The levels are mostly meh rather than outright bad. I do remember a lot of them, which is something.
The exploration and atmosphere is total crap though I agree.
The game is basically just a combat-focused looter. It's pretty good at that, not so much at anything else.
Frick off, the music is one of the most underrated things about Nioh.

You have terrible taste
>dogshit levels
The levels are fine.
>muh exploration
It doesn't need to have exploration.
Atmoshpere and music are fine too, sorry it doesn't resonate with you.
In terms of gameplay it shits all over fromshit.
>music
Are you moronic? The music in nioh 2 had some really good tracks.
True.
There is some good music here and there but it's too repetitive.
The worst part about souls games is the bullshit “exploration.” Which mostly just consists of hiding entire areas around bullshit that no one would find without a guide or message. I’m more than happy with Nioh 2’s style.

Game is not difficult until like Dream of the Wise.
Which is also not that difficult if you actually have a build
Dream of the Nioh is where you need to optimize to not struggle
Bullshit, the game forces you to understand and use all the mechanics, otherwise you're fricked. Most people wont even use ninjutsu and onmyo until they give up.
Even the authors say it's its own genre, masocore. They know it's fricked up difficulty wise.
>inb4 lol I used some cheese by accident so its easy
Bro, just learn how to use Burst counter and Salt
holy frick
burst hit detection is fricking janky most of the time, and confusion is another cryptic mechanic for a new player
it takes dedication unlike most other games

Not really
I struggled against the first boss because I wasn't used to the controls and rhythm of the game but after that the game is a piece of cake
Beaten the game by mostly spamming high stance strong attack axe/hammer
wow it's literally pressing one button, now I see
thanks man
Nah they definitely didn’t frick up lol. It’s like the best action game of all time.
>stuck in the section in the beginning where you are engulfed by the evil fog thing and you have to fight a monkey boss while surronded with the balding pregnant midgets
help me out bros

they added easy mode for morons like you
I went back to the game after elden ring came out and I was fricking up and barely able to complete the first level. My mindset was just completely fricked up by the change in gameplay.
pic rel was the hardest boss for me so far. this game takes forever to finish
Non-DLC i'd say Lady Osakabe gave me the most resistance
yea she was annoying i just beat her, on tokichiro 2nd fight now and the aquaman guy in the cave fricking me up
Katsuie is definitely 100% the most bullshit. That grab is completely ridiculous.
I've heard people have difficulty with her but I never understood why. She's been a complete pushover every time for me, you can just brainlessly wail on the noodles. One of the easiest bosses IMO. Basically all the human bosses are harder to me.

Let me correct myself: the most bullshit mandatory boss. The fricking odachi mage guy is a million times worse.
Yeah but he straightup animation cancels in ways that no other enemy can. Well maybe Hayabusa but Hayabusa doesn't have all that other unfair shit.
I don't understand the trouble people have with this boss. He is extremely easy to read, his attacks are simple, and is straightforward to punish. Also a fricking huge arena. I had way more trouble with Azai Nagamasa.
I started a new play through yesterday. I’m gonna finish it tonight. Shit’s easy.
Poison him
Final boss for me. Had to summon randoms
Every enemy feels like chopping down a fricking tree in this game.
>every enemies in game can one shot you no matter how much you level up
trash level design I have ever seen
that's actually very cool, the problem is many attacks are non-reactable so defense is memory based
More like games to play if you like fast food over high quality 5star steak
>tfw know ballbusting is bad to me but I'm too addicted to it to stop
if balls weren't meant to be hit they wouldn't be so exposed
I just picked fist and spammed the heavy stance poise breaking move the whole game through
game was pretty easy honestly
only the dlc boss with pants on made me struggle
Spamming Tiger Claws combos is better
>burst hit detection is fricking janky most of the time
It's really not.
I just want more of Nioh 2
Why did they have to make SOP and Wo Long such a huge disappointment
Probably because TN isn't as independent as we believe, they release games way to often instead of focusing on one game for 2-3 yrs and they're no aaa studio with different team
This game is cocaine of video games, the more you play the more you crave
I really don't under why I'm so addicted with this game even though i hate reskin bosses but here i love fighting bosses back to back and the amount of combat expression you can fo here is insane
Nioh2 ruined me and now i can't enjoy games with slow combat like those of souls games
if you spammed strong attacks you didn't beat the game
It's a shame Wo Long kinda sucked.
I can't believe how mid it is following Nioh 2.
How did they manage to downgrade everything from the visual to the music to the gameplay while making it run even worse.
I haven't played RotR but I imagine it's not too much better.

I loved Nioh 2 to death.
Wo Long demo was so boring I never bought the game.
Absolutely loving Rise of the Ronin currently.
I'll probably give it a shot when it comes out on PC, then.
I just hope there's a bit of a modding scene. Wo Long's is fricking barren, but that's to be expected, I guess.
I only wish they also put some time on dlc and bring back underworld
Rotr is good, i like its story and combat is fun
every level feels exactly the same in this game, what the frick
Correct answer
Nioh 2 is overrated on Ganker
I'll take ball sex over busting.
I don't get why anyone would play this slop when masterpiece exists already
Because I already have 200+ hours in each of those.
The combat is just so shit compared to Nioh 2. Like embarrassingly so.
Souls games fricking suck as action games.
Having to wait 2 hours for an opening to get a light attack in is boring as frick.
They're nice enough to explore, but I'd rather replay Nioh any day of the week.
>Roll, hit, roll, hit, roll, hit, roll, hit, roll, hit
Great game, fromdrones
I can like more than one thing, thankfully.
I love both. Though only Bloodborne has comparable combat.
