Speaking of E;R, I'd recommend his videos, but not even so much his gaming streams as his review videos, they're a lot more entertaining and he's a funny guy but how gaming vids are less fun

Someone can be really funny if using a script but not so much when free-balling, hell that's most people. I love this guy but like a lot of streamers he uses his audience as half of the content and his audience just isn't fricking funny. I'm glad he plays the games he wants to though.
to me his streams seem less like 'content' and more like his excuse to just sit around and play games he wants to play and have someone listen to his quips now and then, which is fun

This is unbelievably sad and idk why... Does the fame or belief that they're now a "celebrity" of sorts change them, or does it simply reveal who they were all along? If it's the latter, then surely some people would still remain nice n humble after, but I guess most of those who are inclined not to be twats just don't make it that big in the first place, like a weird universal filter of sorts
Only guy I can think of who's fairly big and we've seen his face yet he's still the same old fun guy is Poofesure but maybe it's because he's fricking autistic. Seriously you have to have at least a bit of SPED in you in order to sit there and repeat cartoon quotes 12 times in a row while staring at some wood in Minecraft. Still love that guy
It's just a different mindset. Like even if well intentioned, the difference between just making videos because you like a game, and making videos because you are an entertainer is just entirely different. Ones just pleasure, the other starts taking on business concerns and other stresses/considerations.
For me when it comes to the kind of games I like to watch and think about and play are rts. I don't know if it's a real rule, but I just find the lower view count range has people who are just playing the game because they like it.
Obviously this is a bit different if you get like a huge game with pro players and stuff, but that feels different too.

I can't get into the games myself. He just does a great job at showing of how cool it could be if I did.
Northernlion went downhill after he started focusing on Twitch / had a kid / started putting his face in videos, but his old videos are mega comfy, especially the hundreds of hours of Isaac. Peak background banter, no other streamer could ever come close to NL in his prime.
He still makes good videos now and again, but only when they're made for youtube and not a stream VOD.
NL is still fun to watch. His banter can drag on for too long though. I want him to play the game, not pause for ten minutes to rant about soda flavours or whatever.
I truly believe Dunkeys old league videos are great.
