I dont think the remakes are better, but they are not any worse, it seems a bit silly to me now going back and playing most of the original resident evils, like OG, RE2, RE3, and RE4.
System shock, dead space, the last of us, the remaster of metroid prime are the same, just seems a little redudant going back and playing the originals now.
debatable. the cracks were showing even in re2r, smashing a and b routes together and cutting corners to minimize how much shit they would have to make. the game is GOOD and sound but you can tell it's just a product to them.
This.
I love RE2make, but it doesn't supercede the original, it introduces too many issues that the original didn't have.
I dream of an alternate reality where they took even just two more months of development time to make scenario A and B actually more distinct like the originals -- not two characters fighting the same boss fights in the same areas on seemingly completely separate timelines because it doesn't make sense to be happening at the same time.
>better
It's different. A good kind of different, I actually really like most of it, but it's no "so good it practically replaces the original" like RE1make was. The story in particular is all sorts of weird shit chopped up, like Mr. X arriving off-screen, the chopper crash happening for no seeming reason, the Leon and Claire interactions massively cut down, and the entire paradox of Annette's fate given she dies two separate ways at two separate points that don't make sense.
Besides the first meeting outside the RPD building, they don't talk to each other at all through the game. They "fixed" this by adding notes left by the other character in Scenario B. It's clear from the beginning that they had no intention of faithfully remaking the entire story and instead half-assed it. Scenario B wasn't even in the game originally. They added it back when people complained about them axing Scenario B. This is why the remake will never be above the original for me. Even if it's more "playable," you can clearly see that they cut corners for the game.
I think everyone who got to play the original Trials of Mana agrees that it was more of a Super Mario 2 "dodge a bullet" situation
You can literally softlock yourself if you don't pick the right combination of heroes
Demon's Souls
Metal Gear Solid Delta
Unreleased nu-Konami garbage? Were you dropped as a child?

Mostly yeah but then there's shit like GTA trilogy, fogless Silent Hill and FFVII: time ghost edition

RE4
Thank God they got rid of the DreamWorks grin
Clueless zoommie
I agree, i played the original trilogy and they are balanced like utter trash. And the gameplay does not encourage grinding
Both amazing but the og is still the best
SMRPG, RE1-3, MGS:TS

>the Leon and Claire interactions massively cut down,
They basically just talk like four or five times how do you cut that down?

These people pour milk first before cereal

The ONLY good remake.
But enough about YOUR dick
This and Trials of Mana are how remakes should be made.
