I beat that game multiple times, it's really great.
And I did it on the Famicom version, which does not have zoomer trash "features" such as running.

Yeah I can't think of anything more trash than cutting down on the non-gameplay between points A and B

The NES version was made in the early 90s and has improvements such as having an actual ending and better dungeon layouts. Not to mention you don't actually have to press the run button. The only "zoomer trash" version is the romhack.

They're not really better, just different for no good reason. Also too much of the story is rewritten including the confession scene. Just play the original it's not that hard

NTA, but running unironically ruins the pacing of the game, because it is also the source of the "too many random battles" moron complaint.

Your argument is essentially that the battles are such uninteresting gameplay that a slower walking speed full of non-gameplay is necessary. Considering no one complains about having to fight enemies in literally any other genre, I think the facts speak for themselves

Your own argument betrays that you got filtered by them, hence wanting slower walking speeds to increase the downtime inbetween them

That's not my argument, moron. That's the argument of literal homosexuals who can't beat the game without the gay "Easy Ring"/"Double XP" cheats hacks, such as

You actually waste more time if you run in this game, ironically.

what is the best way to do so in English?

The original English "prototype". Just make sure to assign the Run button to a button other than B to avoid ruining the (intended) pacing.

          >Just make sure to assign the Run button to a button other than B to avoid ruining the (intended) pacing.
I don't think the creators of the NES intended for you to be able to switch buttons like that.

If you play strategically you can end battles quicker and avoid walking around and getting into battles too much in the first place. Once you get PSI Teleport you can also use it for running around without getting into battles (provided you crash into something to not actually teleport).

        >mashing through its random battles

You didn't even play the game. "Mashing" does not work in Mother and any other good Famicom RPG. Maybe the "QOL" romhack allows it however, wouldn't be surprising.

So this is why your argument is flawed to begin with, you have a completely wrong idea of what the battles are like in the game

this c**t just chases you and youll need to perform completely blind jumps while running sometimes with multiple platforms in a row and then you have to redo the last 3 stages after your lives are quickly stolen from you. this is such complete trash and takes a steaming hot shit on the player especially when you already know the real final boss will be a pushover and you were looking forward to beating the game, instead they threw in this blind jumping dogshit to make their game look hard. i could have farmed for lives in the waterfall level but i stopped giving a frick. just play the snes or nes game instead. maybe someone else got it first try but its because hes a homosexual

The Amazing Spider-Man 3: Invasion of the Spider-Slayers (1993/Game Boy)
I gave this one a shot because I genuinely liked the 2nd one, it was a simply MetroidVania title on the Game Boy, short, but fun to figure out, it also felt good enough to control Spider-Man and use his powers, but this? It's rough... the whole MetroidVania structure was dropped, though its fine, despite the fact I liked it, but the main issue here is that the level design is horrible and the control is 10x worse, the end cutscene (I saw it on YouTube because I couldn't be bothered) just sums it up perfectly how I felt playing this, and how most players must feel beating it, it's a good ending, appropriate at least.
