The entire Kalos soundtrack sucks. All the other ones are either amazing or at least somewhat good. I don't understand why Kalos sounds so different and worse than any other generation.
I feel like they had no idea what to do with the sound quality the 3DS offered so they got all weird and experimental with XY's soundtrack.
To be honest I don't really like most of the music after the DS games. The series' music had a much stronger identity when it was all chiptune stuff, the music since Gen 6 just sounds like any generic anime music.

I remember hearing lots of praise for gen 7's ost. I agree with you regarding gen 8 and the vast majority of gen 9. I'm just biased towards gen 9 because I really liked Area Zero's themes more than anything I've heard in any of the OSTs of the few previous games.
