Paizo does diversity for the sake of lack of sameness, and to show off what's possible. They basically run down a list of what's possible and cross out shit they've already done. "Have we done a crippled gnome troony with 6 feet? No? That's our next character." They're not pozzed, though some of the novel writers are gay/lesbo/etc. Novels don't affect the world, so it's not a big deal. Owlcat is VERY pozzed, though.

Everything about The Frontier's writing is just embarrassing. It's sophomoric, which is a pretentious word to use, but it really, truly is. My point is just that having a character literally called "America" (literally literally, not colloquially literally) as a metaphor for the United States of America is really embarrassing. They didn't even call her "Columbia" or "Virginia" or something, just... "America".
