yeah but if you already know that the game has pacifist and genocide runs, it's impossible to experience the game as intended. Undertale plays on your expectations and that's simply not possible if you already know how it works and what you're "supposed" to do
That's the whole narrative point of Asgore. Even if you understand the premise, you're forced to acknowledge that some people don't want to be saved.
I know more than enough people who sat there trying to figure how to get their spare button back. The real funny ones were the ones who were totally at a loss on how to handle equipment and combat since they never engaged with it.
Sort of, anyways. Genocide is really the only unique path. Pacifist and neutral are the same except you only get the full ending in pacifist. If you don't get spoiled about the no kill rule, you just end up having to do the whole game over again with no new content.
The most killing ever does to change the story outside of genocide is prevent you from getting some extra scenes with Papyrus and Undyne. Nothing ever acknowledges your murders otherwise. Sparing anyone during genocide also puts the game back in neutral mode, and everyone acts like your murder spree never happened.
>you just end up having to do the whole game over again with no new content
Nah, IIRC you just go back to Hotland after loading a first-run-pacifist save and you'll get the new content
That's why I said "if you didn't get spoiled". If you killed anyone on your first run, you gotta do the whole game again and nothing is different. That's why I think it's honestly better if you're spoiled to Undertale's gimmick
this is me playing vamprie masquerade. It made me actually hate this kind of system because there IS an outcome I desire but it's achieved through strange means or very specific lines of dialogue.
Isn't your .gif the opposite of that? I wouldn't know, I smoked a lot of weed.
Undertale. I've never played it, nor will I ever, but I've read that your decisions matter, such as pacifist or genocide runs.
