I’ve been playing the shit out of Grim Dawn and have been having a lot of fun. What are some other good ARPG games?
I was thinking a out trying Path of Exile but I’ve heard it’s a dumpster fire at the moment.

Apart from Grim Dawn, I'd say Titan Quest. It's old, but holds up pretty well.
I've been playing through Last Epoch.
Not bad for 35$
titan quest, last epoch(stuck in EA hell), incredible adventures of van helsing
The good and bad news is that grim dawn is already one of the best.
Torchlight 1 and 2 are solid but fairly simple APRGS. Tons of mod support, and good for mindless fun. 3 is dogshit, they tried to make it a freemium mobile game and hastily removed the payment parts but left it stilted and devoid of content.
Chronicon looks like ass but has insane build complexity where most things are viable well into endgame.
Diablo III is fine and has some interesting ideas but everything past midgame requires milking set bonuses for all they're worth so there's not much build diversity and the game is pretty stale at this point.
Last Epoch is promising and has a cool crafting system but is still in early access and they've gotten venture capital from some questionable sources so the odds the game remains unaffected are low.
>venture capital from some questionable sources
but tencent did so much good for path of exile
titan quest
If you're a whale, you'll love Path of Exile. If you love video games, you'll love Grim Dawn.
How can this game be this ugly
Its fun but I swear they witch hunted everyone in their office with taste
one might even say the artstyle is.. Grim
What ARPGs have good controller support?
d2 remastered is built for it
Victor Vran. Fun game. Hugely underrated.
Dark Alliance 1 and 2. Old games with recent PC ports. 2 is by far the best, and only tenuously held to the story of the first. Honestly, start there. Great game.
Van Helsing was jank but at least had big ghost tiddy. Victor Vran had all your attacks locked to your weapon choice and quite possibly the worst-feeling walljump in any game I've ever played.
The idea with it is switching on the fly. You can do it mid-animation, and it adjusts for it. And that's pretty much it. There is nothing particularly deep or daunting about it. What it is, is a simple, straightforward game with a melee/ranged switch. I liked it for its simplicity.
Fair enough. It could be it never clicked for me but it was a little shallower than my personal taste.
I don't know how the controller support is on PC, but I've heard really good things about Diablo 3's console ports. Diablo 2 Resurrected has great controller support, also.
Always thought that this is a really underrated gem
Comfy game, dlc sucks don't get them
If you can stomach Grim Dawn then PoE is fine. People just chapped over D/Rs.
Titan Quest is literally the base for Grim Dawn. They just added a grimdark coat of paint and cleaned it up a lil.
I found Grim Dawn to have a bit more heft to the attacks than Titan Quest. I never felt like I was actually doing damage in that game and all the skills felt anemic. Could be that Avenger (Hunter/Earth) just isn't very good
>I found Grim Dawn to have a bit more heft to the attacks than Titan Quest. I never felt like I was actually doing damage
please try titan quest again but make a shield slam/shield charge build with the warrior guy n whatever else
you'll be ragdolling goatmen off the screen with loud ass impacts
Diablo 3 and 2
Grim dawn
Last epoch...that's about all the good ones
>getting locked out of a skeleton key dungeon after dying to the boss and his AoE environment fire bullshit unable to go back in until I quit and restart making all enemies respawn
What pisses me off even more is that this is for a fricking quest and not just an optional dungeon.
assuming you mean the one in that mesa/plateau area with the lil spooky ghosts and skellies before it, that's definitely optional. i think i did it on one character in ~800 hours and never went back
Port Valbury? When I hear
>AoE environment fire bullshit
that's the one I think of. I didn't enjoy any of the skeleton key dungeons, but that one was the worst.
you won't know what's wrong with pooe if you hadnt played it before so might as well try, not like youll get anywhere on your first league (or a couple) anyway, there's too much to learn, and the dumpster fire state is all about them nerfing the player power, loot and extending the grind, all of which you have no point to reference it to if you get what I mean, and without some decent experience with the game all of those would still be insurmountable hurdles even before this pain train started.
i honestly think its good they are nerfing player power. ARPG fans are a cancer for the genre for wanting the games to be about right clicking to clear entire screens then shift through the loot.
>I was thinking a out trying Path of Exile but I’ve heard it’s a dumpster fire at the moment.
only minmax morons who fully immerse themselves in the skinner box aspect think this. Its one of the best arpgs for playing once through the story content
I'm partial to Sacred 1 and 2.
