I've been replaying cyberpunk for the first time since launch and its crazy how different the maelstrom deal is from the rest of the game. it has actual RPG shit. choices branching paths the works. and then right after that you have the heist quest where basically none of your choices matter.
did they just give up after this quest and streamline everything or did they specifically and maliciously only make this quest good because its what got demo'd by the press?
Probably it was a vertical slice segment they made specifically for an E3 and pre-release playthroughs.
Play Phantom Liberty, it's basically all Maelstrom tier gigs and main quest. They'll prob do it proper in their next game, the expansion showed what they can pull off when they're not constrained to shitty consoles and a shareholder deadline
I got the dlc which is why I'm replaying. looking forward to it if the quests are as good as you say
lmao no it isn't. The DLC has next to no choices and when you finally have a choice, Reed vs So Mi, reed's path has 9999 quests and is the canon super long path with the choice to let Hansen live and get a medal, while So Mi path is 5 minutes long.
You pathetic shills trying to pretend that garbage non cyberpunk DLC is good should be doxxed and killed.
SIRfield paid shill post.
>it's basically all Maelstrom tier gigs and main quest
Really? I've done 2 gigs and both were just "kill your way to the end, person at the end asks you do the opposite of what you're supposed to do, get paid anyway"
No it’s not you lying shill
lmao bullshit theres only 2 meaningful choices in the entire dlc
They probably worked on the game from 2013 up to 2017 and the only thing they were able to work on as a tech demo was this quest. Thats why its so incredibly polished. If the game had a normal dev cycle, all quests would've been like this.
I always take a puff
yeah, mechanically, that's probably the best quest in the game. CDPR most likely realized it was just unfeasible for all quests in the game to have the same amount of depth. Instead, most other main quests are cinematic, but shallow
I love how if you have the depth of field turned on. when royce shoves his gun in your face it will become super detailed and the background will become less detailed as the camera adjusts
This quest and the tutorial one with Trauma Team feel like they were given the most polish.
trauma team was pretty early on too. it had a bunch of stuff in it that got scrapped like the drug they show off in that demo and the steal kills they do that never happen in the full game. also made it seem like trauma team was going to have a more important role
iirc, the maelstrom quest was made to sell people on the idea of the game and existed as a vertical slice for e3 or something like that before being put in the actual game. So the reason it's so good is because they only needed high quality for one level to get people onboard.
why the frick would you install something like that into your head?
they've lost their mind due to cybernetic usage so it probably seemed like a good idea to them
>they've lost their mind due to cybernetic usage
is that a thing in cp2077?
yeah, cyber-pyschosis. basically since tech has to sync with your nervous system. people can only take on so much tech without risking becoming mentally unhinged. they're also hooked on brain stimulant drugs for this reason
cyberpsychosis is when you turn into a monster after you chrome yourself too much, what the maelstrom have is the thing car guys have that makes them spend millions of dollars on after market parts for theoretical performance gains. And a culture that is both violent, and doesnt' care about the human form.
They're basically the Adeptus Mechanicus only high on pcp and enamored with 20th century inner city gang culture.
Losing your mind? yes
Yes but no
Cyberpsychosis isn't real
He didn't lose his mind nor is under the effects of cyberspsychosis. He's just a hoodlum rat that most likely got cajoled into using that augmentation for his shitty gang.
Ayy V, go break into this <location> and get me <thing>. Don't make any noise either (but it doesn't matter if you do)
Don’t care. This shit isn’t cyberpunk so I’m never ever playing.
Dumdum deserved better.
That's because in that part of the game Johnny Silverhand is not present. That mission was part of the original game. After they got the wholesome chungus in the game they scrapped everything and remade the game just to make him part of the main plot.
I wasted a new playthrough to do all the right choices and the fricking don't fear the reaper ending still doesn't trigger.
So if I want to actually get that shit I have to get a shitty fricking save editor.
Frick this.
Been angry over it for a day now.
