this for literally any game. always just start with the one that graps your attention. if you like it enough you can then go play the other games in the series.

Shit advice. I saw FFXV had cars. I was like, oh shit, GTA Final Fantasy? Let's gooo!

Imagine my disappointment. It left a bad taste in my mouth. At least the graphics are nice for a game that came out in 2016.

Usually you press start at the title screen, sit through a 40 minute opening cutscene, and then enter your name. Hope this helps

play 10 first. its the one that most new fans start with. If you think you can handle i,. go Chronological.

They are all different games, so you can play whichever you want in any order.

Do you like menu combat? If so, take your pick of any of them up to 13.
If you are iffy on menu combat, just wait for 16 to come out.

Every FF game is massively different from the others. Except 1 and 3, which follow the same concepts (3 is basically an improved version of 1). In this way, you can start wherever you want. But you'll likely be disappointed the more games you play. Because if you really like the first game you play, each one after that likely won't do what you liked.

If you like old style RPGs, get the Pixel Remaster and play all 1-6. If you can't handle older RPGs, then play something like 10 or 7 Remake. My personal favorite is 5. But that's because it's totally different than all the other games in the series. More like a Dragon Quest or Chrono game than Final Fantasy.

10 is good for a casual but avoid the hd releases
7 is phenomenal if you can get past the inconsistent graphics

For FF7 PC, you can download a simple mod that makes the field models look like the in battle models. Not that it fixes everything. The bigger issue is the terrible translation and walking on pre rendered backgrounds. And the usual bad gameplay mechanics found in most FF games. But when it comes to visuals and the translation, you can use a mod to fix those.

    7 or 10

    Other good ones are 6, 8, 5, 4

9 is good but not of a different vibe. Same with 12 and 13.
1 is very dated but good core.
2 is weird and you'll live it out here it
    3 is just kinda bland
15 you play only if you're invested in the series

Play 5, then Tactics, then lament that other games don't have good job systems.

3 and 10-2 have a good job system. It's just most people get filtered by 3 and 10-2 is cringe in every other way besides jobs.

        >10-2
Easy better than people give it credit for. Anon is right that the story... Well as a story it's not intently cringe, but the way they choose to design all the costumes and the actual written dialog is pretty cringe. Job system is really well done though

Start at nexus mods and add coomer mods.
(Actually playing the game is optional._

10 is a solid way to start, it eases you into the basic Final Fantasy gameplay. Then do 6 or 7.

XIV, XV or XVI. They're literally made for people who don't play FF

      >They're literally made for people who don't play FF
To be fair, so was XII and XIII. And you can even argue VII, VIII and X before that. The series has always been about flipping over the table from what the previous games did.
