Sort of. Before the 'Krash everything was stored on the Net. Everything, including locations for servers. There's servers connected to and part of the Net literally everywhere, and they can't really tell what is part of the old net or the new net. Just once server surviving means that the AI's have a place to hide. It certainly doesn't help that some of these servers are in fricking space for some fricking reason.

Cyberspace is technically everywhere and still very much around, what happened was that on March 5th, 2023, Magnificent Curtis (the head of NetWatch) and his council activated the IGTA Dissolution Prime, which basically killed the means by which Cyberdecks and NET-capable computers used to reach cyberspace. Cyberspace is still extremely real, it's just inaccessible unless you can recreate the means. It certainly gives you the most interesting stuff after the quest.

The game gives you plenty of chances to kill them.
Yes, if Mama Brigitte and the rest don't die when meeting Alt, upon waking up you have a chance to walk away. But they're insulting you the entire time and frankly if I were V, I would be paranoid the entire time that they would try to hack and assassinate you a la Evelyn Parker for the rest of your life. Killing the VB seriously seems like the only logical choice no matter how you play it.

Nobody is healthy after spending two years lying in bed homie. Not that it matters much in a world where some random homosexual can get a cyberarm and easily be stronger then you.
You're not. Just atrophied from waking up after a 2 year coma and then going for a flight to Night City within an hour of waking up. The fact that you can walk around after that is a miracle by modern medical standards, and you're doing it without cybernetic implants. In the here and now just 6 weeks of being in a coma is enough to render you wheelchair bound for a couple weeks after coming out of it.

River is ashamed of what he's become and doesn't want to meet V again. Tbqh I've been there.
The NUSA cure ending is actually pretty great when you have high Johnny approval and make dialog choices with Vik/Misty that you are interested in starting fresh. But the Aldecado stuff makes zero sense. They would assault Mikoshi for you because you were family, but not talk to you after coming out of a coma? CDPRs desperate attempt to make the simp ending canon since they are probably bringing the yellow snake back in the sequel.

cdpr trying so hard to force the Mr.Nobody choice to be worse than it is. All characters got the moron treatment, including V for not bringing a gun with him to NC while visiting Vik so those thugs could mug you.
If cdpr didnt write everyone to be a moron it would make this the absolute best ending with almost no downsides. Imagine: >finally got out of the shithole that is NC and live in a much better place >easy comfy job that pays well >still have your gf and friends that are probably thinking of ways to fix your new no chrome problem
The ending shows that yorinobu successfully cripples arasaka from the inside even without your help, so even johnny got what he wanted.
Consequences of other endings felt plausible and earned, but for this one it feels like forced misery.
Should have honestly wrote it that arasaka exited NC violently and came after your friends while you were in a coma.
Waking up to see most of your friends dead because you weren't there to help while arasaka offing everyone tied to V would have worked for what they were going for without being moronic.
I love that they gave you no reason to like any of them. You're being used the whole time and they barely try and hide it. After basically admitting that you're a fall guy after the Mall gig, where you presumably took out 50 meatheads bigger than any of them, and survived getting your head fried by their superior netrunning, they still wanted johnny so bad they let you deeper into their lair and thought they could still frick with you. Morons got what was coming to them
If enemy Netrunners weren't morons in game, they'd have never let you off the floor when you fry the netwatch guy, they should kept spamming short circuit through cameras until your head was mush.
tl;dr: They're Saren from Mass Effect except the reapers in this case aren't even sure to come back and they're only planning to save themselves and no one else.
Basically they want to get on the AI's good side, because eventually the Blackwall will fail and what's beyond it will come to infect the new Net. They want to have it in with the AI's and attempt to be protected and/or join them.
They think the blackwall will inevitably collapse and the AI's will fight Humanity and win. They're hoping to cosy up with the AI's first by helping break them out so they'll be spared. They want to get to Alt since while she's an AI she was originally human so she might be more cooperative, and Johnny's engram is a good bait to get her to show up.
the issue is that you can still do it without any of that
it should be tied to the implants you have

Fair enough. Guess they didnt flesh things out more.

I really wish they did more exotic implants in 2.0 like non-flesh arms but they did nothing new for arms besides the maxtac blades that barely change anything. Hell different gorilla arms STILL don't display the proper knuckle color and that's been a day 1 problem. Being as its the only implant that causes a cosmetic change your think it would have a little attention and care put into it like reactions and it being customizable.
how are these Black folk so good at this tech stuff that they needed glowies to come unfrick the situation
they live in dilapidated falling apart building and have wet markets there
Finished all the endings in the game now. The Aldecados ending is probably the most charming. Especially if you romanced Judy. Probably the best ending for a Nomad run.
The Don't Fear the Reaper ending is easily the best for a dedicated Street Kid V. They become a legend in NC and go on to potentially die in space pulling off a heist that has never been done before. Street Kid V never wanted to live a quiet life and would rather day in a blaze of glory.
Corpo V is a difficult one. I'd say the DLC ending where you lose all your Cyberware is probably the best ending. This is mostly cause Corpo V would trust FIA/Arasaka over any other ending.
The ending where you give Johnny your body kinda sucks. Just doesn't feel right with me at all. He already had his chance and wasted his life. V shouldn't do the same. Although it's a bit sad you don't get to see V in cyberspace. Him giving the kid the guitar was kinda cool at least.
In all in spent 200 hours in the game and I am happy to say I've done everything I can in it and and pleased to see all the endings.
>My brother told me the devil ending is by far the worst one, did some research and don't know why anyone would pick it
Me either. The whole game is basically telling you corpos are evil. Why would anyone side with them?
I still dont get why people hate this game tbh. Like I can accept it had bugs and shit when it first came out but it has one of the strongest stories in any video game. Also one of the most original. Punk rocker boy turns terrorist, gets his soul sucked into an engram and then put into a lowly merc during a heist? Shit is pure gold
>lowly merc
V can kill a shit ton of high tech soldiers when completely powered up
V is a monster and it is always weird how its sort of played of as a nobody
The DLC does that as well where V can express a concern of the NUSA wanting to target them and people laugh them off saying how they're a nobody on their radar.
Its something that has always bothered me about the narrative.
Merc is skilled enough to break into the top security of Arasaka penthouse hotel steal from it break through countless security and a Mech and then is just sort of forgotten. Any follow-up from Arasaka is on Takemura and not V.
To be fair if the heist had went fine, T-Bug is the one who does most of the work. V and Jackie stroll in and take the case but she's disabling all the security and doing most of the work while V and Jackie are chilling in a hotel room.
I still think by association and the fact someone even got that far would freak them out
especially considering that they were exiting out of Yorinobu's room right around when Saburo was killed
Seems like an easy way for Yorinobu to blame the death of Saburo on V and then put a giant reward on them and the fact that they are also witnesses to Saburos death
Just seems odd that a corpo wanting to control everything even after death would not follow up on loose ends like that wouldnt be turning every rock over to get rid of V
I mean they do sort of disregard them and Takemura but i still think its kind of strange

>Seems like an easy way for Yorinobu to blame the death of Saburo on V and then put a giant reward on them and the fact that they are also witnesses to Saburos death
That just made me realize that despite Takamura being a wanted man, you never once have to worry about mercs trying to get you for a bounty or Arasaka kill squads hunting you down, which is weird considering you're accused of killing the most powerful guy in the world and just wandering around freely in Night City doing gigs. You can even be in a fricking braindance nailing a guy to a cross, or briefly on TV with a famous musician.
I unironically loved the voodoo boys. They gace off that exotic Black person aura thats missing from modern video games. They also have funny accents.
Placide was also a great character at what you did, especially since he succeeded in making you hate his guts.
I like them as well, in a love to hate kind of way.

>you never once have to worry about mercs trying to get you for a bounty or Arasaka kill squads hunting you down, which is weird considering you're accused of killing the most powerful guy in the world and just wandering around freely in Night City doing gig
I kind of cope / handwave that between: >he's already expected to be dead when Dex trashed him, and Dex got fricked anyways >they already killed Jackie, and any interest that they can in interrogating him to get to the bottom of the matter, they already did by engramming him >mercs get work done through fixers, and V's already working to be on the good side of all the fixers throughout Night City >Adam Smasher has a personal vendetta against you and wants you alive until then, for whatever reason >random groupings of goons are very schizophrenic and will randomly attack if you even walk/drive by them nonchalantly, and can easily cope with it being "oh maybe I am wanted in their eyes"
He's a nobody. There's hundreds of mercs just like him before the heist. After the heist though it should scale how much people respect you with your street cred because a level 60 v is basically a demigod easily smashing smasher and killing entire maxtac teams.
They did frick up the marketing a lot. I still remember >Trailer showing Jackie dying and Dex killing V comes out >CDPR tells everyone "This is only one of the ways it can end." >It isn't and the only difference is that in the trailer T-Bug also betrayed you and in the game she was loyal to the end
I just think it's a dogshit roleplaying game, none of your choices matter to the story outside of what ending you CHOOSE (which is to say you don't even roleplay into an ending, you literally pick)
lifepaths are worthless and only give dialogue options
skills are worthless and only give dialogue options or let you take a shortcut (to a goal that you can reach without those skills anyways)
good action adventure game though
This is my main issue with the game. I kind of feel similar about it to how I feel about VTMB, only with that game it's more >I wish they actually got to finish it and it didn't play like shit
I like the setting of Bloodlines and Cyberpunk more then I like the game itself.
Ironically, I felt I had more control over Geralt in terms of roleplaying then I ever did V. When most of my choices feel like >Drink beer during this scene >Don't
I feel like I have frick all control over the character, even though CDPR claimed you'd be able to define V more then Geralt.
ironically enough it was also CDPR who made the most consequence-heavy RPG in history, as in witcher 2 you get an entirely different act 2 depending on one choice by the player. And I loved it when I played that game, but the issue is that it made no sense from a profit perspective, most players weren't really willing to replay the game to see all the different consequences their actions could have. And that's the main problem with designing RPGs nowadays, it requires time and commitment to designing different paths and consequences gated behind player choice, all the while the devs could use that time to create more quests that every player can experience in one playthrough for more mass appeal.
Hell, I remember reading a bunch of threads after phantom liberty came out and a lot of people hadn't bothered to do the other ending path from the one they chose, even though the final mission was different...
To my understanding, I think it boils down between these camps of thought: >CDPR LIED ABOUT [thing] >ugh I can't roleplay as who I want, I have to roleplay as V >wtf, this game isn't meant for me / this game ran like shit on my 2500K + 970, therefore it's BAD.
and while the first two are both valid concerns, people seem to get strung up by this so hard they can't look past it and see that it's a decent game regardless.
Sure, I think it's very much shit in the roleplaying department.
The starting background only matters for some flavor text dialogue and seldom skill checks that don't really amount to anything.
Being able to do absolutely everything in the base game where you can do all the endings right at the last mission at Embers is a bit silly.
Phantom Liberty instead partially trying to change this with the "point of no return" be mid-mission almost through the DLC is shitty.
I very much hate how schizo dialogue/relationships with characters like Johnny can feel when progressing even slightly out of order.
I even feel like you're coddled with your build and being able to get out of any jams. Before you at least can get trapped into what attributes you put your points to due to the cap being at 50, but now being able to max everything AND reset the additional perks makes building at the late game feel like it doesn't matter what I pick.
There's probably a bunch of other gripes I have specifically in terms of the "roleplaying" department, and definitely a lot with the rest of the game.
But I still enjoyed the 100 hours I've sunk into my one playthrough plus DLC.
>people seem to get strung up by this so hard they can't look past it and see that it's a decent game regardless.
wow it's almost like when a developer says they're going to deliver a product, they should deliver that product
you are exactly the type of person enabling shit developers to spew out half-finished products
I can also shit on it for being half-baked and shit on people like you for guzzling CDPR's cum with a smile
try having standards, you'll be better for it
Eh not really. I enjoyed CP2077 for what it eventually ended being. If it was like BG3 where it has lots of reactivity and roleplaying options, it would have been great but it would have been a completely different game either.

>I enjoyed CP2077 for what it eventually ended being.
precisely what I said, a dumbfrick that'll let developers pump out unfinished games and then happily lap it up when they """eventually""" (three years later) come somewhat close to what they promised

The thing is, none of the things they added in the later patches were things that they promised. Rather they were reactions to complaints after post-launch like a police chase system, vehicle combat, better perk system and skills, and transmog. They didn't touch up the RPGs mechanics which they originally pitched up. Instead they doubled down on the action adventure aspect of the game as seen in Phantom Liberty where it ditches the open world for more set pieces and linear storytelling.
Which means they pandered to people who already enjoyed the game that ended up being released back in 2020.

I despise all the homosexuals who started shilling Cyberpunk and acting like 2.0 fixed every issue with the game just to "own" Starfield. You don't need to prop up a bad game to shit on a even worse game.
You're 100% unironically moralgayging by trying to impose your sense of morals onto something that was said 7 years before a product released, and in doing so you're """trying to make the world a better place""".

It's pretty funny how accurate the Voodoo boys are to actual Haitians. >In a prime location >Have modern infrastructure >Turn it all to shit and the people are barely surviving >Place looks like shit >People are violent and barbric
Was I describing Haitians or the Voodoo boys?
They're the best in the sense that they primarily focus on netrunning since they have too few numbers to engage in open gang fights like 6th Street or the Valentinos. The only other gang that comes close is the tyger claws being backed up by arasaka.
The voodoo boys are also heavily discreet unlike other gangs which is a requirement to netrunners to avoid blowing their cover and getting shot in their dens.
Not american but they feel more like african Black folk like the witch doctor from diablo 3 which I can tolerate compared to USA Black folk. They are savages and they know it.

Misty invites you to join her in the forest, which is arguably the best choice in this urban hellscape of a future
look at how going in a forest turned out for Ted K. there's no running away
I love that PL gives you a new horde of Haitians to murder
>Farquaad is into getting blacked and posting twink wojaks.
Hm...
Morons got what was coming to them
Funniest bit is that Placide is 100% right to want to kill you as soon as you come back but Brigitte is so obsessed with Alt she let's you in anyway.
If enemy Netrunners weren't morons in game, they'd have never let you off the floor when you fry the netwatch guy, they should kept spamming short circuit through cameras until your head was mush.
jack in now jack out jacks up now jacks down jack up jack up tell me what you gonna do now
What even is the goal of these guys, maybe I wasn't paying attention but I missed it.
Get to AI Alt Cunningham through the blackwall via using the Johnny engram as bait.
tl;dr: They're Saren from Mass Effect except the reapers in this case aren't even sure to come back and they're only planning to save themselves and no one else.
They want to get to Alt since while she's an AI she was originally human so she might be more cooperative, and Johnny's engram is a good bait to get her to show up.
best moment in this shit game
it was kinda hot when he tries to choke you
>60kg girl with noodle arms can wrestle out of the grip of 2m tall roided up gorilla and then punch him away
umm ok game, sure
>implying Myers isnt insanely chromed up with cutting edge shit that doesn't bolster her physical size with secret FIA tech
that's female V in the image
V with no gorilla arms no less
Ok, but if in your playthrough you did fem V and did a Body build and bought gorilla arms, what would be the issue?
the issue is that you can still do it without any of that
it should be tied to the implants you have
Fair enough.
In w-where?
how are these Black folk so good at this tech stuff that they needed glowies to come unfrick the situation
they live in dilapidated falling apart building and have wet markets there
Finished all the endings in the game now.
My brother told me the devil ending is by far the worst one, did some research and don't know why anyone would pick it
>My brother told me the devil ending is by far the worst one, did some research and don't know why anyone would pick it
Me either. The whole game is basically telling you corpos are evil. Why would anyone side with them?
The best thing that came out of PL is that it gave me more Voodoo Boys to slaughter
frick them for trying to make it seem like it was a sad thing when that netrunner voodoo boy died. I was trying to kill him that whole converstation.
I like them as well, in a love to hate kind of way.
Thats what im saying
Think of being a witness to the death of the president by the vice president while stealing super secret US technology and not having people trying to find your ass
its strange, especially considering you are making yourself more known as the game goes on
>you never once have to worry about mercs trying to get you for a bounty or Arasaka kill squads hunting you down, which is weird considering you're accused of killing the most powerful guy in the world and just wandering around freely in Night City doing gig
I kind of cope / handwave that between:
>he's already expected to be dead when Dex trashed him, and Dex got fricked anyways
>they already killed Jackie, and any interest that they can in interrogating him to get to the bottom of the matter, they already did by engramming him
>mercs get work done through fixers, and V's already working to be on the good side of all the fixers throughout Night City
>Adam Smasher has a personal vendetta against you and wants you alive until then, for whatever reason
>random groupings of goons are very schizophrenic and will randomly attack if you even walk/drive by them nonchalantly, and can easily cope with it being "oh maybe I am wanted in their eyes"
He's a nobody. There's hundreds of mercs just like him before the heist. After the heist though it should scale how much people respect you with your street cred because a level 60 v is basically a demigod easily smashing smasher and killing entire maxtac teams.
They did frick up the marketing a lot. I still remember
>Trailer showing Jackie dying and Dex killing V comes out
>CDPR tells everyone "This is only one of the ways it can end."
>It isn't and the only difference is that in the trailer T-Bug also betrayed you and in the game she was loyal to the end
I kind of feel similar about it to how I feel about VTMB, only with that game it's more
>I wish they actually got to finish it and it didn't play like shit
I like the setting of Bloodlines and Cyberpunk more then I like the game itself.
The game is the same as Witcher 3. Could you roleplay in Witcher 3? Nope. It has a linear story path
okay? I haven't played Witcher and don't really care about it
CDPR promised a roleplaying game and delivered a linear story
Ironically, I felt I had more control over Geralt in terms of roleplaying then I ever did V. When most of my choices feel like
>Drink beer during this scene
>Don't
I did multiple playthroughs and i bet a lot of people did too
To my understanding, I think it boils down between these camps of thought:
>CDPR LIED ABOUT [thing]
>ugh I can't roleplay as who I want, I have to roleplay as V
>wtf, this game isn't meant for me / this game ran like shit on my 2500K + 970, therefore it's BAD.
and while the first two are both valid concerns, people seem to get strung up by this so hard they can't look past it and see that it's a decent game regardless.
But I still enjoyed the 100 hours I've sunk into my one playthrough plus DLC.
>people seem to get strung up by this so hard they can't look past it and see that it's a decent game regardless.
wow it's almost like when a developer says they're going to deliver a product, they should deliver that product
you are exactly the type of person enabling shit developers to spew out half-finished products
you can laugh at the marketing and enjoy the game for what is or seethe
I had fun shitting on the shilling and the dumb fricks who fell for it,but I also enjoyed the game cuz it's good
And case in point, you're strung up by it so hard by being a moralgay about it.
>wanting devs to release the game they said they would is moralgayging
are you moronic? serious question
You're 100% unironically moralgayging by trying to impose your sense of morals onto something that was said 7 years before a product released, and in doing so you're """trying to make the world a better place""".
Peak moralgay.
it's not a sense of morals you moronic c**t
it's wanting the game I was promised
are you esl or something?
Hi
Edgerunners narrative of some kid getting wrapped up in a crew and doing merc shit would work better for a vidya narrative then the games story.
Was V finally happy?
I unironically loved the voodoo boys. They gace off that exotic Black person aura thats missing from modern video games. They also have funny accents.
Placide was also a great character at what you did, especially since he succeeded in making you hate his guts.
Frick haitians.
It's pretty funny how accurate the Voodoo boys are to actual Haitians.
>In a prime location
>Have modern infrastructure
>Turn it all to shit and the people are barely surviving
>Place looks like shit
>People are violent and barbric
Was I describing Haitians or the Voodoo boys?
'cept vdbs are somehow the best runners instead of mealstorm or kytties and what's with the moxes being just 1 bar
That should make them the stealthiest, netrunning gear costs eddies but silence is free
>exotic Black person aura
you say that like it's a good thing
go to south florida for a month and you'll change your tune
Not american but they feel more like african Black folk like the witch doctor from diablo 3 which I can tolerate compared to USA Black folk. They are savages and they know it.
>they feel more like african Black folk like the witch doctor from diablo 3
they're definitely haitian, they use creole every now and then like other ethnicities use their respective languages
to be entirely honest though haitians are more pleasant to be around than mexicans
t. from florida
I can smell your shitty netrunning skills from here voodoo Black person
They look cool yeah
Their battle theme is pretty good too. Glad they're more present in PL so you get to hear it more often.
"Rot in hell kuso-ama "
Any mods to improve rain/weather/immersion?
No matter what you say. I still frickin love this part.
Where are the Lobos, Shaitan, and Thompson?
I left them alive, and then this wienersucker starts sending me threatening text messages. Kinda feel like reloading a save and fricking murdering all of them now.
Do it, even the vdb's in dogtown hate brigitte and her gang.
>Judy claims to be in pittsburg despite pittsburg being a nuclear hellhole with acid rains
>Engram isn't even the real johnny
>Actual johnny is living somewhere with the real Alt probably in the desert
>Actual Johnny looks like david bowie
>Actual Johnny went cyber psycho right before smasher blew him in two
>False engram johnny thinks his buddy was named Robert John Lindor. Robert John Lindor is Johnny Silverhand's real name.
>Johnny was soulkilled by spider murphy
>Johnny's body was put into cold storage in a nuke case and transferred to the desert by the aldeacados in the 2050's
>Spider murphy also soul killed herself to surf beyond the blackwall
>Bartmoss is still alive in engram form
>Smasher is still alive. You never killed him, you just broke his suit
>Smasher is a high functioning cyberpsycho
>Yorinobu was the good guy
>David was hardly even a blip on the radar
