Jokes on you but China has more developed railroads than USA does for example, EUROPE on the other hand wins in logistics and you can most likely just hop on a train and travel through Europe as a whole and use local taxi services or uber to travel to the more smaller places outside of train stations reach.

This might be "just a truckstop" but you are forced to drive through two of those red lights if youre driving on I-70. State fricked up some bond agreements and ended up bridging two parts of the interstate with a couple feet of state road. For a long time they've been trying to fix this by connecting the two halves where it shouldve been connected to begin with a bit south of that photo but the city keeps vetoing it because of course they would.
The city vetoes it because it's where the vast majority of the people who live there are employed and it brings in out of state bucks. If they connected the highway proper then it would turn into just another dying rustbelt town, why the frick would the people who live there want that?

the friendly deer was pretty much the main draw, but it was a really nice place to walk around in and explore. there are a lot of old monuments, like a five-story pagoda at Kofuku-ji, and the Buddha at Tokai-ji. lots of street food too, but the deer definitely steal the spotlight.
I budgeted a bit too well so had some leftover cash in my allotment on our last day in the region, so ended up buying a Godzilla sukajan, which was fantastic.
we stayed in Nara mainly because it was cheaper than staying in Osaka and Kyoto while being like 30 minutes away from them via train. I'd recommend getting the JR pass, which gives you unlimited free transport on JR lines, including certain shinkansen, for something like $300. it saved us a fortune and made getting around so easy.

the friendly deer was pretty much the main draw, but it was a really nice place to walk around in and explore. there are a lot of old monuments, like a five-story pagoda at Kofuku-ji, and the Buddha at Tokai-ji. lots of street food too, but the deer definitely steal the spotlight.
I budgeted a bit too well so had some leftover cash in my allotment on our last day in the region, so ended up buying a Godzilla sukajan, which was fantastic.
we stayed in Nara mainly because it was cheaper than staying in Osaka and Kyoto while being like 30 minutes away from them via train. I'd recommend getting the JR pass, which gives you unlimited free transport on JR lines, including certain shinkansen, for something like $300. it saved us a fortune and made getting around so easy.

GIGO literally just opened a new arcade in downtown Sapporo, right in the new shopping mall. Haven't been there yet because I like the tiny arcade instead, but that literally makes 1 small arcade and 2 big ones in a super small area, all competing with one another. It is. I didn't expect to like this place as much as I did, I mean, I'm no urban guy, I prefer going out in nature. But a comfy warm afternoon and sunset makes you love the place, nice views, you're close to the ocean, people are chill, the monorail is an attraction by itself, and there's the cool Gundam.
It's a shame that the moving Gundam in Yokohama will be no more by the end of next month, but as long as that one in Odaiba sticks around I'll definitely need to check it out if I find myself there.

I'm sure they have similar issues to us wherein large companies buy up housing to inflate prices. Not to mention, it's cheaper to live somewhere rural, but you're saving to be alone. In a city, you're spending a premium, but likely making proportionately higher income than a commonwealth rural community. Plus there's just more to do and more reasons to go outside.
