>Japanese boomers have nostalgia for online battles in GEN 2 on GAMEBOY
It's not fair... We didn't get that until Gen 4. When they were working on HGSS they probably put more effort into it because they had memories actually playing the original. Also, I was so dumb I thought that the wireless link cable that came with Fire Red and Leaf Green would let you play online somehow until I finally tried it the day it came out and realized it doesn't even reach across the room.
technically it was only in crystal which wasnt compatible with the original gb
japanese here. no one has nostalgia for that thing and it was very unpopular and no one really bought it and it was laggy and slow
lies
Does the Japanese fandom have arguments about whether RG or Blue is the superior way to play green 1?
japanese here, can confirm. rg is 魂. blue is 不魂
>不魂
日本語勉强的의 中國~~*人*~~을 detected하다.
Back to /b/ via lifeleak video. This part is for honourable east asians only Zhang

Do angloos realy?
don't call me a 中國~~*人*~~ what the frick
不魂 reads like 工廠語 and you know it
Did anyone ever emulate/simulate this shit? I'd be interested to see what it looked like
Wouldn't be surprised if there's videos (in Japanese) on YouTube.
there's a team working on it, it's in an alpha-testing phase atm. you can find it if you google the mobile adapter. crystal content seems to be the main focus, but there's stuff on mario kart gba too.
the event was triggerable via an event activated by the mobile service, but you had to have 16 badges to redeem the GS ball
>mario kart gba
A GBA game also used the Mobiel Adapter GB?
Most games that supported it were GBA games.
nobody bought this, it was a huge flop
wtf why?
because it was too expensive and had little to use it for
>why didn't people buy an expensive peripheral that only worked with one game
next you're gonna ask why Steel Battalion flopped
>one game
It supported like 20 games you moron.
>make a Mech sim game with a FRICK-HUEG dedicated controller
>don't port it to PC, making the mentioned controller an optional purchase
?¿?
I still remember a time when people log their laptops online by connecting their phones. Anyway, I wouldnt have enjoyed this then. At least gen 4 had the benefit of being built-in and relying on the new-ish concept of wi-fi
i remembered when i was playing the Vietnamese hack of this game way back then there was this pokemon center in goldenrod that was larger than usual and whenever i talk to the NPCs there the game would just freeze. then i learned recently-ish that they're supposed to give you the GS ball after completing all the 16 badges. kinda bummer this didn't carried off to the english version and they just didn't make an alternative way to get a celebi there.
The GS Ball had nothing to do with badges, it was a downloadable event flag similar to the ones we'd get for wifi events later.
The GS ball after getting badges was for the 3DS virtual console version of the game.
