Animal Crossing.
Higurashi?
Pretty sure I heard it in SimTower or Yoot Tower. And I think that one of the Rhythm Heaven ones uses it as a "you failed" sound.
Animal Crossing and P4G both capture the vibes of certain notable leisurely times you see in anime quite well.
Fragile Dreams

If you didn't play with Cicada shells as a boy, then you aren't a real man.
Steins;Gate
I boot it up in the summer just for the loud fricking cicada sounds
You might think it's exaggerated, but in Japan it's even louder. I miss it.
Living in Kansas during the summer.

Summer memories
All the Cicadas are gone in my area, it makes me kind of sad. I remember over other year there'd be a swarm that would make that comfy sound and they'd leave dry little husk everywhere. Then I think every 3-4 years there'd be a MASSIVE swarm of them. The sound was almost deafening for at least a week. I hope they're alright 🙁
the dingo ate your cicadas
MANDINGO?

>everyone always talks about how nice some cicadas sounds
>meanwhile the Spanish cicada is literally pic related
Frick cicadas, may every gecko and bird dine on them until extinction
they look the same here in the states except they're green.
Is the noise they make basically just "HEY IM HERE WANNA FRICK" or something.
I used to whistle the Higurashi cicada sound when I was busy like while sweeping floors, and sometimes other employees would catch me and look at me weird
