It's not going to work. Nintendo know that Palworld is too popular to shut down without colossal backlash. It's why they couldn't do anything about Genshin ripping off BotW either.

They don't need to do anything, Palworld is already dying lmao

It's an EA survival crafting. People play get bored and pop back in for the big updates. Also it sold 2.8 billion on a 2000¥ budget. I'm sure they made ROI and then some.

It does work, because nobody wants to be left out of Nintendo collabs. The overwhelming majority of Japanese vtubers are holding a Switch. They will kiss corporate ass to avoid getting backlash from a company that is notoriously petty.

      [...]
Does Japans actual media look at streamers and or vtubers as real celebrities? Just curious because the American media does not.

In Japan, vtubers are on the same tier as idols, but with fictional avatars. That's why they always have "intro streams" and have suspiciously deep lore and excessive character development despite being fictional characters.
In the west, they are just e-girls with anime avatars. That is why you get shit like tuning in to Mori's avatar being a dead puppet in the corner while she's off screen after telling everyone she's taking a dump, or 35 4th wall breaks every stream, or having to sit through a vtuber explain why it's okay for them to work with a bunch of guys.
Japan puts them forth as idols, hiding their flaws and putting up a lot of showmanship. The rest of the world puts them forth as celebrity e-girls who you should simp for. Japanese vtubers take dancing and singing lessons to give a big performance on their birthdays, while western vtubers have "mental health day" schedules that look like Ganker E3 bingo cards.
Fuwamoco is an exception because they clearly put in so much effort to maintain the facade, it's frickin' adorable.

      >They really believe Nintendo would shut down the game that acts as free advertisement and garners future pokemon fans for them.

It only helps that the "fans" of this game do nothing but talk about fricking pokemon in the game that isn't pokemon. They do it for free.

I think its funny how everyone who sees palworld immediately think "they are stealing shit" and make it into a big deal by either supporting it or trying to avoid it, but then fricking Nintendo of all companies does nothing about it. At this point this is more of a drama that people want instead of something that is actuaelly happening.

    >Toyko Sports reports that, according to a talent agency source, talent have been advised not to mention the game in case there are issues.
    >“We have told our talent not to mention Palworld on social media or in public,” the source said. “This was done out of consideration for the Pokémon side as an agency. This decision was made in consideration of future potential collaborations.”

The actual reason Kotaku got blacklisted from them was because they filed a FOIA request for a union dispute NoA had, it wasn't piracy or leaks or anything. Nintendo has always been petty if you don't do what it wants, even negative criticism has to be given in the "right" way or they will blacklist you.

          Anonymous

Yeah because Kotaku would turn down prime Nintendo clickbait like that. Also you're acting as if Nintendo is a blacklist happy company when currently it's just Kotaku and I think PCgamer.

          >even negative criticism has to be given in the "right" way or they will blacklist you.
If that were the case literally every video game journalist would be blacklisted by Nintendo at this point since they aren't exactly nice with most of their games. Only the big titles like mainline Mario and Zelda get praise consistently.

            Anonymous

Anyone who actually rips into Nintendo games like any other and more importantly, blames Nintendo/questions why it was made that way, gets blacklisted. You would never see a criticism of Nintendo to the same degree you would say, Ubisoft or Konami or Sega because everyone knows if you dig deeper to criticize them, you're done in the industry.

              >Anyone who actually rips into Nintendo games like any other and more importantly, blames Nintendo/questions why it was made that way, gets blacklisted
Which would be literally every video game journalist at this point because they've all ripped into Nintendo for one reason or another.
              >You would never see a criticism of Nintendo to the same degree you would say, Ubisoft or Konami or Sega
You mean the companies that rarely see criticism?
When was the last anyone actually said anything about these companies? Sega alone has a lot under their belt especially with Atlus but look at the defence force for the changes made to P3R and the lack of reaction to localizers preemptively altering Yakuza. To say that receive criticism is ludicrous and a flat out rejection of reality

                >Konami
They don't have "recent" criticisms because they don't do anything visible anymore, but it's well known that they're neglecting beloved series. Also, the monetization structure for their arcade machines is totally fricked and DDR is being undercut everywhere by a guy who they sued out of business years ago but you would only hear about this if you were into rhythm games.
                >Sega

Vtubers fricking love Palworld and give absolutely zero fricks about the Pokemon BS. The only way to astroturf it it would be to convince their agencies to ban them from it, and I don't see that happening which how rabid they are for it. Nobodys buying Palworld after seeing a golfer talk about it on local news because nobody who'd ever play Palworld is watching golfers on the local news.
