If you want to know what they did. They waited until someone released a MTL patch and changed it a bit to make it look like they did some work. When in reality he was hoping Enterbrain would do a C&D. They kept the project dripped fed for over 8 years with no updates except 1 post at the end of the year and pretend they were working on it.
such a schizo take but i kind of believe it. there were so many moments in the translation that felt incorrect in the same way a machine translation was, like it didn't properly understand the context. and all in all the translation was so shit and basic that it had no personality to it, which is the natural job of a translator (and most translators go a bit overboard with); yet it read so bluntly and to the point all the time. i don't remember how that compares to the original day 1 patch, though.
