This goes for the Super Famicom as well, incredible how many great games weren't localized and released in the West.

Hundred seems like a stretch for Famicom

        >Hundred seems like a stretch for Famicom

It really doesn't. I have a list of handpicked Famicom-only titles that look to be at least decent, and the list involves 130 titles (beaten about half of those, took out when I thought the game was shit) + that list often only lists one game in a series when there are sequels so the actual number of games is actually bigger + that's just my personal handpicked list and I keep making discoverings and putting in additions all the time

That's of course unless you only like Mario, Zelda and the list goes on. In which case, sure, that only leaves SMB2 and even then you're not going to like it.

There's also a ton of trash that never came over but feel free to share.

    >For the Frog the Bell Tolls
What fricking moron made this cover?

That’s a direct translation of the original Japanese title. If you wanted to make it more “accurate” you could drop the first “the” but that sounds moronic to a native English speaker.

It would sound more natural without the if you also made frogs plural.

        For frogs the bell tolls.

I prefer for the frogs doth the bell toll myself

Smash Bros localizes the title as "The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls"

Which is the only one that makes sense, considering it comes off as unintelligible and gay if translated without the context of its reference: For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Super Famicom Wars is a blast and it's already translated. It plays so good it has to be top10 SNES games

You motherfrickers need to play Bushi Seiryuuden. I spent the past two weeks 100%ing this baby. Loved it so much.

As for OP, that game was so charming. Basically a short anime as a gb game. Glad it didn't get localized by burgers in the 90s because it would have been butchered with 90s Burger King club-tier humor.

      Hihi, I like Bushi :$

Barely ever see this one get mentioned but it's a clunky 3D fighting game roguelite rpg and it would have been neat to see it turn into a series.

    Hence why these are handpicked

Upper list are things I have beaten, bottom list I've already tested half of them; there are probably a couple of kusoge in there but not many

Out of those for the sake of these threads I'd recommend Makai Island and Meikyuu Jiin Dababa. The first one is an action adventure by Capcom, the second one a top down FDS action game by Konami with grid based gameplay somewhat reminiscent of Startropics came out before Startropics though, and the graphics are of amazing quality for the time it was released in

Surprised to not see Dracula-kun or Splatterhouse on there as those are two of the biggest games that we didn't get. I'd also recommend checking out Wits for multiplayer. Definitely lots of fun looking games in there, not sure if I'd call a lot of them quality though. Also probably depends on how much a person enjoys third gen JRPGs but cool list.

That one's an early console roguelike, isn't it? How does it compare to Dragon Crystal on Game Gear and Fatal Labyrinth on Genesis/Mega Drive?

This game is really unknown and pretty fricking good. Plays like an arcade beat-‘‘em up with great music and graphics, took ages of fiddling for it to run on the emulator iirc. Also bulk slash but that’s more known
