>Xenofresh corporation (I think it's either Ryujin or Xenofresh, I picked Ryujin and fighting Xenofresh a lot but earlier on I was given an opportunity to betray Ryujin and join Xenofresh)

>Sanctum Universum (these last three are either or I'm guessing, I joined House Va'ruun and again I'm guessing that Enlightened and Sanctum Universum have their own questlines going on)
this may be all the joinable factions but honestly I'm only 40 hours in, there might have been some things I missed

Honestly I'm loving it, I'm still kind of in the honey moon phase with it and it has some flaws. But I'm sucked the frick in and can't stop playing. I would say my issues so far:
1: the game isn't quite as polished as some leakers have made it out to be. Not to say that it isn't polished relative to other bethesda games or open world games in general, because it is, but I still have run into some pretty frustrating glitches over time. I think it's fair to compare it to the level of technical polish in BG3 act 1, it's for the most part running flawlessly, but there are issues here and there
2: loading every time you enter an interior cell
3: Neon and Akila don't have the same size as Atlantis and Cydonia, they're more comparable to a Skyrim city
4: some of the planets truly are barren and boring as frick. But I have been VERY surprised by the places I've found handmade content in some seemingly pointless/barren planets
As for positives: shooting is the best its ever been hands down, guns are fricking great, it mogs the living shit out of FO4 shooting and is comparable to a normal, modern FPS, not even kidding. The skill system is fricking killer, I was worried by lack of depth but there are literally 80 fricking skills and I feel this is the most freedom I've had in building a character in a BGS game since Morrowind.
Overall I feel it's 10/10 right now but like I said after the honeymoon glow wears off I would say probably 8.75-9/10

Comparable to Skyrim and FO. In some cases you can avoid combat encounters if you pass the dialogue check minigame, if you don’t want to use guns there are a couple different skills about charming people/making them flee, or else charming/mind controlling robots, aliens, etc to fight for you
Speaking of the dialogue check minigame, it isn’t perfect… sometimes you’re forced to pick dialogue options that you would rather not pick for roleplaying purposes, just so you could pass the check. It’s not bad, but it kind of messes with immersion when I’m trying to be a nice guy hero and I have to intimidate some poor homeless drug addict in Neon to get info

it adds bonus damage to people with cybernetic implants/ability to control what they do. lvl 4 lets you disable whatever cybernetic limbs they have. So if their arm is robotic they drop their gun, if they have a robotic leg they limp

And it doesn't even make sense for what the skill icon is.

As for the Religious "factions", I'd assume that it's just having the trait and getting quests that relate to them.
It's a BGS game and they said there's a way to remove background traits. If you regret your religious trait you can probably convert

It never really occured to me, to an extent I can see this, it's more in line with the kind of immersive second-life features we've seen in BGS games. For instance eating/drinking water gives you temporary bonuses, but there aren't any drawbacks to not doing that
It's BGS gameplay loop blown up to a massive scale. I haven't touched crafting or settlements. As for miscellanious details... it feels like they really touched up the radiant AI in this game. All the NPCs have schedules and unique dialogue in town. In one quest I had to tail somebody and watch if they did something suspicious. At one point the guy turned around and asked if I was following him. At first I thought this was scripted to happen just for this quest, but I wanted to try it out on another NPC. So I followed some old lady around town for awhile and she started pleading with me to stop following her. So yeah you can stalk people and the NPCs will know if you do it. Very nice
