Going to be honest, I've always thought whales were kind of mentally challenged because they are essentially flaunting either questionable life choices or debt. I realize the uber rich are fine throwing money around (more power to you), but for literally everyone else, whaling on a gacha is a weird flex. Nothing to be proud of, really. Supporting a game is cool and all, but those millions of USD/whatever are never going to be reinvested back into the game... and it'll all EOS eventually.
Unpopular opinion: Genshin is the only gacha that feels expensive to me, that probably needs whales to make the kind of content it provides, but LDS? Absolutely not. It took ~$200 million to produce the FF7 Remake and LDS has already made $100+ million? Feels crazy.

Most people who are annoyed about him for reasons beyond him being a guy (which for modern gbfg is an immediate reason to hate a character) dislike how much content he has gotten and, more specifically, how his content has been very stagnant since he completed his arc in 2019, with 90% of his post-000 content being about him missing Lucifer or talking about coffee (to the point of having some pretty milquetoast fate episodes for his last two units). He's also the first unit to get 2 grands (limited unit who is available for one banner a month) as of last motn, and it was either his first grand or another character released around that time that "retconned" him killing people when he was throwing islands by stating the islands he chose were uninhabited. He's also part of the major fujo pairing LuciSan and gets a shitton of merch (1 of 2 characters to get a nendo, the other being Lyria the main girl)

Yea, if there's one thing I can agree with the whales about, it's that papergames really needs to be a bit more generous in their rewards in general. I know that it's a gacha so everything is about making you spend, but the pace is kinda exhausting. Honestly, I sort of wish they'd stuck with how they were doing it at the very start, with an event banner followed by a single, short banner for each of the three guys. At least there was some time to breathe, that way.

Not that OM ever had good writing but things went back to standard normal pretty quickly and everything kinda just felt like it should have been part of the og game. Running the same identical events across both versions probably didn’t help
It's one of those situations where you'd enjoy it more if you had no attachment to the original game, there's no carryover whatsoever. It would have been better off as just replacing the pretty crap dance battle of the original with the rhythm game and adding the story but I think there was some major spaghetti code that didn't allow it. Personally I got a bit slagged off with how they had handled Asmodeus' birthday last year and stopped playing, but the first anni is coming up so I might give it another go.

Now that LaDS made so much in its first month, I keep hoping that another company gets inspired to make their own version of an action otome but I have serious doubts it'll ever happen. I don't think any company wants to take that risk especially for an otome game

I'm not optimistic about another action otome considering the complaints about the game being too hard or complicated.
The good:
- great story and very good potential for more interesting story developments (I'm biased and I love space-themed stuff)
- actually good music
- beautiful 3D models
The bad:
- gacha currency is very scarce and probably the worst I've dealt with (spending nothing, you only get ~15 pulls a month, pity is 70, and a guarantee is 140) Limited banners happen too quickly to get everything you want, even if you're only aiming for one guy
- limited 5-stars are not compelling. You'd think they'd add to the combat, but they don't. Only the "myth" 5-stars are interesting and right now those are permanent banner anyways.
- events are super boring and uninspired
Overall:
The first 8 story chapters will suck you in and then leave you feeling empty. LaDS will have to change to keep people interested in the long run.

They've promoted the game heavily with tons of IRL events and advertising. I may just be naive or too optimistic but the fact that they responded fairly quickly and positively to the last few demands makes me feel like they aren’t against improving things. Of course, I know it’s just because the whining was coming from Chinese leviathans this time but I’m still hoping that future updates and events are stronger and that they have a bit more for f2p, too. At least it’s still early enough in the game’s life for changes to still happen
If Nikki is any guide (I don't actually know how much team overlap there is), the israeliness won't go away but I do expect more content to do and stories to read.

The MTL is unberable indeed. From what I grasped was that Lucifer is actually kind hearted and got sick of his schizo degenerate brothers mass murdering in the name of God. I swear to god man, Project Sekai is the theoretical vocaloid dream game. It's free from the shackles of only being able to include Crypton vocaloids, allowing them to showcase the full breadth of the genre and include many classics that were otherwise missing, such as Kemu Voxx or KagePro.
This just goes completely ignored by everyone, because they decided to put their boring ass OCs front and center. It made non-casual vocaloid fans brush off the game and developed a fanbase that don't even seem to care about the genre, only the characters, for god knows what reason.

And it sucks if you don't have the artifact because you can't unlock all of them. I don't have Raphael's artifact and I can't peg his ass sadly. Level 9 cards you can undress them the more you more you do it, leave marks and each time a different moan/line is said. Like Raphael starts with "I'll kill you you are dead" then asks for more the more you bully him. It's fun at least for me! But I get what you mean. The stories should have been voiced + have at least 2 cg too. The cards interactions and stories have improved though! This is their first time meeting, the crew are investigating a kingdom surrounded in a black fog that's missing the earth spirit that was protecting it. The spirit disappeared because it pacted with Eurel (new erune guy) to revive him so Eurel can get revenge for being falsely excused and executed. It looks like they're setting up a new group with Petra (who has her wind spirit), Eurel (earth spirit), and Elmott (who doesn't have a spirit but has the pendant from Bosco that's suggested to be connected to the spirits). Elmott's yukata fates will probably follow up this event

According to them last month WHB made $70k and $40k on Android and iOS respectively. But, you also have to keep in mind that they are getting revenue from the erolabs version.
