the problem is not JUST you having to mash A, but the awkward pace at which you have to mash A. just let me kick back and put it on an auto timer before it goes to the next line of dialogue or some shit
>in this story, a woman wants to find her husband >to do so she tricks everyone into opening hell where she fuses with a jellyfish >afterwards she's left weak and vulnerable with no memory >her kids ditch her, her organization is taken from her, and her husband shows up to say "lol no" and walks away to do berry shit
The moral of the story is there's a single and needy Lusamine that requires love.
having more story doesn't make that story good. having a billion cutscenes you have to mash through is not what makes good storytelling. you're confusing quantity for quality. in fact, when your storytelling is poor quality, having more of it is a detractor.
SM story was probably the best one, at least once you leave the 2nd island and Lusamine takes action. It’s one of those games where “It gets good eventually!”
SV is the worst game in the series and it cuts even more features than SM did while also having way worse performance. how does a 3DS game have better render distance for models in the overworld than a switch game?
SM will always be the worst in the series because it's not even a JRPG, it's just a movie.
It's a pain to even replay it simply because 50% of the playtime you'll spend it skipping dialogue.
i'll take the game having some cutscenes if it means all pokemon are still in the game, optional exp share is in the game, all moves are in the game, battle facilities and post game maps are still in the game, optional battle animations are still in the game, set mode is still in the game and hidden ability hunting methods that aren't shitty raids, all of which are missing in SV >50% of the playtime you'll spend it skipping dialogue
if you genuinely think this, then it sounds like you are purposefully skipping every wild pokemon and every npc trainer that isn't required to beat the game
It's not intended excuse it? You were just making a completely schizo statement to the side of it for reasons we can't phantom.
Next your going to be shocked RBY has less frame drops then SV.

there is nothing schizo about expecting a switch game to have better performance than a 3DS game
It had potential, but having to stop for the most insignificant shit killed everything that they got right with this game. I liked the trials. Fighting with a disadvantage was fun. The story I remember was interesting for a pokemon game but the worst was when Lusamine merged with Nihilego and then challenged you to a pokemon battle.
Also, frick Hau
Anon, you're talking to a group of people who never played another game in their life. The real problem should be about how your character literally being a piece of cardboard who is just use as a plot device for things to move forward.
The games were shit.
I love lengthy JRPGs, but the Alola games were fricking awful in terms lf writing. Here’s an example of that shit writing: >SM >literal seconds after starting the game >Ohmori’s bland waifu is running away from evil team and escapes >for the next half of the game, the game acts like the evil team isn’t evil >instead of playing around with that plot twist, they ruined it in the first (of A LOT) cutscene
Those games are failures and the lowest point of the series. The fact that discordtrannies have to shitpost every single day to defend them, is proof enough.
yes, pokemon used to be quite unique for a jrpg because the story was minimal and less important to the overall experience of the game
it allowed the player to have a more unique personal experience of exploring the region
>Story
For the last time, you ADHD-brained morons, Pokemon has had story and can continue to have story without a intro sequence that takes one fricking hour to press a through.
Seriously, imagine how much more you'd enjoy games if you took your meds and actually study storytelling in video games
>one fricking hour
it took me 2 hours the first time and I restarted the game once because I discovered that the girl mc had ugly clothes unlike xy so I needed to change to a dude
Yes? That's why i played Pokémon, because It always focused on the actual game instead of wasting my time with a cringe anime storyline that goes on forever
The problem is that in order to enjoy the good parts of the story, you have to get through countless instances of >fades to black >fades into Hau walking up to you >"DUDE MALASADAS LMAO" and more shit you don't care about for at least two minutes >fades to black as Hau walks away >fades back in >you can now resume the game
And you're similarly expected to sit through this on all repeat playthroughs because there isn't a skip button for all of these narrative interruptions to the game flow, when normally the absence of a skip button is reserved for games where there's a diverging narrative based on the player's choices. But Pokemon isn't that, it's a linear narrative that has the same beats every time.
the joke's on you, lardass. i loved sm and usum
correct
>it doesnt matter how a story is told, nor the quality of the writing; stories are just summaries of events and thats good enough
the problem is not JUST you having to mash A, but the awkward pace at which you have to mash A. just let me kick back and put it on an auto timer before it goes to the next line of dialogue or some shit

please just make a real constructive argument about this children's video game series or at least have a nice day

SM story was probably the best one, at least once you leave the 2nd island and Lusamine takes action. It’s one of those games where “It gets good eventually!”
>“It gets good eventually!”
That's literally SV, stupid.
SV never gets good.
SV improves when you unlock the last story, which is very late.
SV was good from the very start thoughever
SV is the worst game in the series and it cuts even more features than SM did while also having way worse performance. how does a 3DS game have better render distance for models in the overworld than a switch game?
SM will always be the worst in the series because it's not even a JRPG, it's just a movie.

>Oh no, they actually fricking tried with the plot for once how dare they this is worse than no clipping through the floor
They didn't fricking try what are you fricking talking about?????
"for once"
BW?
You can also try to do something and fail mserably. It happens all the time
They didn't try there either shut up.
(you)
And the plot ended up being the same shit as always, it's just now cutscenes make 50% of your playtime.
i'll take the game having some cutscenes if it means all pokemon are still in the game, optional exp share is in the game, all moves are in the game, battle facilities and post game maps are still in the game, optional battle animations are still in the game, set mode is still in the game and hidden ability hunting methods that aren't shitty raids, all of which are missing in SV

if you genuinely think this, then it sounds like you are purposefully skipping every wild pokemon and every npc trainer that isn't required to beat the game
>the worst game in the series
But enough about SWSHIT
Sword and shield are at least functional and have characters instead of orc fan art.
Still incredibly bad but SV does it worse.
>better render distance
Black person it's a fixed camera that's pointed at the ground 90% of the time, it doesn't *need* a render distance.
that doesn't excuse scatvomit having terrible render distance
Ah yes, my favorite game feature, muh render distance. Gotta see all this land. Gotta see all the pogeymon.
It's not intended excuse it? You were just making a completely schizo statement to the side of it for reasons we can't phantom.
Next your going to be shocked RBY has less frame drops then SV.
there is nothing schizo about expecting a switch game to have better performance than a 3DS game
>it worked within its limitations to provide the best possible experience
>this means it is bad
>how does a 3DS game have better render distance for models in the overworld than a switch game?
idunno, you bought it anyways.
SM's story isn't about your journey though its about you being a Mary sues body guard and dealing with her family issues.
While she gets complimented for not even doing the bare minimum to left her own weight by everyone else.
God SV and BW are so much better in every way BW feeling like a journey
SV having the people actually feel like people
>SV
>good
how much is TPC paying you to defend that garbage?
Anon, you're talking to a group of people who never played another game in their life. The real problem should be about how your character literally being a piece of cardboard who is just use as a plot device for things to move forward.
So you've never played another jrpg before huh.
>>>the story of sun and moon good
Your a coomer aren't you anon.
i'm calling you out for defending a game that is even worse than SM is
that doesn't mean i think SM is automatically good
The games were shit.

Lillie is the best written pokemon character.
Sad
it's simply a bad story
Oh man I really liked getting raw dawged by "N" (laziest name for that homosexual) in ferris wheel so amaaaaaaaazing 10/10 story.
bump
>[x] game has good story
>game is in the Pokemon franchise
yes, pokemon used to be quite unique for a jrpg because the story was minimal and less important to the overall experience of the game
it allowed the player to have a more unique personal experience of exploring the region
Too bad the experience has always been shit
>Turns out, I never liked Pokemon but stayed for 20 years anyway how could this happen to me?
Yeah just like in Paldea
>Story

There's nothing wrong with the story. It's the lack of gameplay and mechanics compared to every game prior that gimps it.
>cant skip cutscenes
>story is 90% tedious blah blah blah blah blah
gen7 was a fricking mistake
