Because medieval fantasy is based on medieval europe. Guess which religion was prominent there and then.

Christianity has a lot of ancient Greek thought tethered to it. There's also a lot of medieval israelite mysticism thrown around in megaten games. Islam just has pre Islamic Arabic mythology, plus more Greek influence that Christian stuff already has covered.

Forgot that there's also quite a bit of Persian/Zoroastrian stuff in several Japanese games including megaten, that stuff is pretty noticeable. Megaten itself though has a lot of stuff though, European, Asian, Middle eastern, African

this sounds like bullshit, anon. Are you one of those people that believes the claim that Tolkien's fantasy characters were based on races and ethnicities? That was bullshit too

Islamic beings, especially Jinnis, are always despicted as super humans/demons but cooler in jrpgs.

What are you even talking about?

Atlus mostly uses Hebrew mythology, not Christian, as is the case with YHVH and Mem Aleph being the biggest villains. Jesus doesn't even appear, nor do crosses, and israelites also call their book the bible.

Crosses does appear at times, but you are right that they are more hebrew mythology inspired.

This isn't stupid, why would you need a high fantasy version when that was already the default form of JRPG. The other spinoffs made more sense, like strat rpg and cyberpunk and shit

    Atlus is a trends chaser.

    >partly because of an urban fantasy setting

and also partly because of the esoteric real world religious mysticism and occultism shit, which Last Bible attempts to tap into at parts. even though most of the games take place in a fantasy setting, they still lean hard on playing around with a very distinct ancient-medieval mythological flavor not found in many other RPGs

also one of them outright involves medieval Jerusalem, that feels something only this franchise would do. i don't think it's any different from something like Persona that leans extremely hard in the urban fantasy part while leaning away most of the occult sci-fi parts of the original franchise (barring androids existing in P3, which is pretty fricking nutty)
