Baldur's Gate 3 is structured more like a JRPG (character focused) than a WRPG (exploration focused) so it makes sense.
That and it has a popular IP taped onto it so of course it would be a hit.
The reason it works better for BG3 is by virtue of having actual characters, instead of cookie cutter trope filled archetypes that pretend to be characters.
>game awards are chosen basically exclusively by a panel of critics, with only about 10% of the final vote coming down to what the community voters choose >every single game critic pushes this game hard because it's muh wholesome LGBT horny game as opposed to disgusting male gaze horny games made for incels
Grim. The fact that people care about these awards whatsoever or think they're anything but "what do the critics think" awards, that really says something about the average person's intelligence.
>boy I can't wait for this dialogue and attack animation to play for the 10,000th time this playthrough, and then for gameplay to stop for 2 minutes while the enemy does the same thing
Depends on my mood. Sometimes I really want a fairly non-linear adventure where I can pick from a large pool of characters and run around a dark and gritty medieval world having my own little adventures, lots of customization, and where things party members might betray you if you don't talk to them enough or something. And sometimes I just want a story focused game with light RPG elements.
lol

The east innovates, the west refines.
JRPGs quite literally spawned from western dungeon crawlers and then have been the same for 20+ years.
I'm just happy Jaheira is getting some mainstream recognition after all these years.
Homosexual game.

how did normies lach onto turn based combat like this? I thought normies hated anything that wasn't shooting guns
People like when things are done well and are actually fun. Jap turnbased is jarring in comparison.
What does the cat have to do with that?
it is a JPEG you flop
It's a cat you Black person
I probably have a preference for JRPGs these days but I’ve always liked both if I’m being honest
don’t use dubs though
>don’t use dubs though
I prefer 5s.
Sorry. Maybe next time, eh?
Behold, the power of hope.
I never get 5s
You're entitled to your opinion.
its not even fair at this point considering wrpgs aren't even wrpgs just propaganda to promote homosexualry
JRPGs aren't RPGs
Go back to spamming /vrpg/, warpiggie schizo
Popular thing bad but unironically

>words words words
Yeah it's warpigger
Did you just come from 2005?
I think Western Role Playing Games do a better job at giving freedom to it's players. You can choose plenty of things about the characters and story.
But I understand why someone would fall in love with the magical stories and Japanese art direction. It's just too streamlined for my taste.
after years of playing both im starting to think theyre both shit
CRPG > both
CRPGs are basically western rpgs
Japs can make crpgs, too. They're just rare
