People don't want to admit it, but P3P was the best way to play (I refuse to pay $90+ for Reload) >Does away with computer-controlled party >Adds social links >Streamlines area navigation
Persona is pretty low hanging fruit. Even no name 90s era titles beat it out in terms of mechanics and pacing. Grandia II beats the shit out of something like Persona 3 before breakfast.
Persona fans are the JRPG equivalent of Bethesda fans, people with dramatically low standards that care almost exclusively about the self-inserting aspects of the games.
I liked the themes of spiritual rebirth and overcoming depression and loss that the game explored. I think that and the dating aspects are what stuck with the people the most. The actual RPG mechanics are fun, especially when you get a 1more chain going, but nothing exceptinal.
JRPG's aren't even good. It's just mediocre gameplay to backup a somewhat kino story in 90% of cases. Why go and play a 100 hour JRPG when you can play 10 100% gameplay fun NES games in that time and be 100 times more fulfilled?

You're the one screeching about arguments when someone makes fun of you. Sounds like you want to play baby debate club, and I'm simply informing you there's a better website for that. 🙂
They were fine in the NES days when hardware genuinely limited creating a game of that scope. They just never evolved and garbage like menu-based combat became a staple of the genre, rather than a crude crutch that should have been discarded as soon as technological advancements allowed.

shmup haters don't enter shmup threads, shooter haters don't enter shooter threads, yet curiously jrpg haters can't stop entering jrpg threads. very strange isn't it, almost like they're trying to excuse being filtered by kino.
Persona 3 is actually pretty shit.
It was my first Persona, too. The exploration is terrible, it's just cheap randomly generated dungeons. Even Dark Cloud did it better, and I find Dark Cloud to be pretty eh
Worse than the games that came after, worse than the clunky PS1 garbage that came before
Truly the baby zoomer's first weeb trash and the beginning of the end of JRPGs
>boring repetitive dungeons full of palette swaps >doesn't let you control your party >game over when the mc dies but not the rest of the party >social links with really boring people >fusion system is as fun as playing Excel
They got better.
>worst version of P3
Just cause you want to frick the femc doesnt make it good.
this is the best version of P3
contrarian homosexuals like
like FEShit solely for the vomit inducing low budget chibi 3D models
Not retro.

Redpill me on Grandia II I only ever played the first one briefly at a friend's house.

So the ones that play the first three are based?
I think my nuts are low hanging fruit and I used them to fill your mom with sperm

Jarpigs were never good.

Maybe so, but OP is one of the few ones that doesn't boil down to selecting attack over and over again to win.
Go back to spamming "not RPG" on /vrpg/, warpiggie scum

psx persona 2 duology better
Yes, we will probably never have jrpg with endless boring dungeon again. These days its all more interesting.
Persona 4 Golden is better.

I played Persona on the PSX, it was trash. Never looked at the series again.
Outdated at this point. Reload does everything it does but better.
