Go ahead and tell me some better JRPGs, or ones in the same league. I'll definitely wait. You can go ahead and name SRPGs, ARPGs, or dungeon crawlers as well that measure up. or you can backpedal and deflect like the worthless gay that you are.
Xenoblade 2 isn't better than 1. It was a regression.
Cold Steel isn't better than Sky. It was a regression.
Meanwhile Octopath 2 was a huge improvement over 1.
>Xenoblade 2 isn't better than
Too much fanservice for your puritan heart? >Cold Steel isn't better than Sky
Too much chadness for your sissy life? >can't even refute Neo Twewy
>Octopath Traveler
I almost died from boredom while beating first game. Maybe I'll install it on my Deck just to play in subways while commute to work.
Just unlocked the final dungeon in Sea of Stars and having a fucking blast. I feel like I've tried damn near every notable 16 bit throwback 'jrpg' but this has been the first one that really stuck the landing for me. Definitely not perfect but no JRPG is really
Sea of Stars feels a bit amateurish compared to SNES RPGs but it's definitely competent enough compared to Chained Cuckolds and everything else indie fags shit out.
- flow of combat in mob encounters. In boss fights I don't really mind how few default skills everyone has because you're swapping between everybody and using combos to build up the ultimate gauge, but normal mobs dont let you do any of this since they're too short
- as nice as everything else looks they should have gotten a different artist for the portraits
- The pacing is rock solid except for all of the Messenger stage retreads/the whole of Mesa Island
Again, not perfect but its punctuated by great moments that feel like they have their own identity beyond SNES callbacks. The music and boss battles have all been great too. I'm actually going around the map now instead of starting the final dungeon since I don't wanna end the game just yet
Is sea of stars actually good? I'm 3 hours in visiting the place with things that look like gorons(?). So far I just feel everything is boring, the combat is too easy, you can't escape so you're forced to grind, the foot travel feels slow and just a plain chore meant to waste my time, the characters and story so far is boring, not once have I needed to use a healing/mp item, I want to increase the difficulty but I don't know when I'll be able to, I read you do that using relics but I don't think I've gotten to a relic that increases difficulty yet.
>Recommending Ocotoshit traveler
How can a company make such a shitty game. It's not like JRPGs are complicated, yet the Octo devs fuck it up every time. What's that about?
Is late game Sea of Stars a lot more like Chrono Trigger than early game Sea of Stars or something? Because I am not finding the game a lot like Chrono Trigger at all.
Why is it so commonly claimed to be like Chrono Trigger?
Octopath Traveler 2 is the best jrpg I've played since Xenoblade 1.
Crystal Project was pretty great too.
Get better taste. Play more games.
Cringe take

Trails of Cold Steel series, Xenoblade 2, NEO TWEWY. They are better than whatever crap you like.
Xenoblade 2 isn't better than 1. It was a regression.

That's an insult to Octopath 2 putting it in the same category as these cuck and chud games
fpbp
What makes those two cucked and chud games but not octopath?
the chud and cuck characters in Octopath are villains you kill
>He says this while octopath 2 had a literal white people bad storyline
lol
I see one JRPG there.
Good eye, sea of stars is the only good jrpg there.
Sea of Stars is a WRPG that was developed in Canada by Canadians.
My brother in Christ JRPG refers to a style of games. Sea of Stars and Chained Echoes are western made jrpgs.
>My brother in Christ JRPG refers to a style of games
No
Back to twitter with you
They are JRPG-influenced only. They have western art styles and writing.
Define "Japanese" as a genre classification.
only octopath is an actual jrpg, the rest are garbage indie shit not worth any attention
>Chained Echoes
Not a JRPG. Also shit.
>Sea of Stars
Not a JRPG. Also shit.

Can't wait to receive my Steam Deck to play them.
Should I get them on Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck?
I got them on Deck. I only get Nintendo exclusive games on Switch.

Ok but did you beat galdera without a tutorial?
>Octopath
>Good
>Brave default
>Good
Not only bad at naming but bad games
The one from the far right is not from japan, you fucking duffus.
what are some jrpg with no retarded writing and power of friendship bullshit? I want callous and pragmatic people
You're looking in the wrong genre unironically
Play SaGa games
Definitely none in the OP.
