For this hypothetical game.
Who do you want to be in it?
What famous battle should be done?
Should we have alternate history?
Should we divide playable characters into factions ?

>enter Teutoburgerwald as Varus's legion
>main objective: survive
>can't
>pirate kidnapping half-stealth level similar to the Dian Wei sacrifice castle
>level is repurposed later on for the revenge
Yes I hear Julius Caesar got kidnapped by Pirates how big of a name was he after he killed them all? Also was he involved in that battle is Spartacus get happened around the same time? I know the other two members of the triumphant where in a pissing match because of it,
nu-Musou sucks. Plus Koei rather shit out some anime IP spin off after Legends of Troy failed.
Rome musou games exist they're just called Asterix and Obelix.
OP have I'm going to add names that people besides me suggest as playable characters besides Julius Caesar who's obviously going to be in the game as much as Cao and Obe Nobunaga in Dynasty and Samurai Warriors.
Dude add Hadrian and Trajan. Best times ever to be a Roman. Or for more dramatic times, Flavius Aetius/Stilicho/Majorian. Or for that Byzantine Sovl Justinian/Bellisarius or go back to the Conquest of Iberia by the Scipio family. There is a lot of material to work with. Shit for a weird doozy make it work around the fallen Rome under Ricimer fighting off othee barbarians.
Bellisarivs Plebbicvs Vandalicvs Gothicvs during the reconquest of Africa, Italy and Cisalpine Gaul.
Or Avrelian crushing the Palmyrean and Gallic Empires.
Or Scipio Aemillianus salting of Carthage.
Or Hadrian going postal on Ivdea, and fricking twinks because it's Hadrian.
Basically you could grab a lot of periods along the Empire's history to make great games.

Who playable characters?
How would you portray the Caesar assassination though?
You could play as Brutus and instigate the murder then fight a hopeless battle against Augustus.
Caesar is in a rome with thousands of senators pouring in with Objective: Survive. He can't
>enter the senate
>somehow there are hundreds of ennemies when you're in a weakened state
>the more you fight, the slower and weaker you become
>you fight your own son, end up on the brink of death
>it was all a dream, you were already dead
>"et tu brutus?"
>hp hits 0
It would need to have a cutscene after the assassination to have Mark Antony say his speech.
frick you, you piece of shit
I didn't need to know I wanted this and I'll never get it
Haven't you heard of. Mortal Kombat OC who became so popular she got in the main game? Maybe if this idea becomes popular enough to actually do it .
Yeah but who would make a Roman musou. And who wouldn't make it into a shitlib revisionist pile of garbage?
I'd rather have a Musou game where you play as notable historical figures and gods from a bunch of different world civilizations
