To me the only thing JPOG has on EVO1 is the dynamic dinosaurs behavior. The ones in Evolution were straight up garbage. It just wasn't fun to watch them because they behaved like animatronics with their weird stop and go action. It was so bad that it removed gameplay possibilities. Buidling Safariparks was one of my favourite things to do in JPOG. The more complex guest were cool as well, but I mostly care about the dinosaurs. What Evo1 did well was usability. The pathing and foilage tools were great and going back to JPOG was very difficult for me despite the better dinosaurs.
honestly was it so hard for them to basically just make JPOG again but without the moronic restrictions on the fossil hunt and number of buildings, and also updated graphics, more dinos, and more customization options?
Yeah it's a bit silly how they didn't just try to emulate the best parts of JPOG on the first go around but with 2 now it seems like they are doing that and even adding more onto that JPOG-esque foundation, so all is well, I'm pretty optimistic about JWE2.
I think they completely underestimated how many JPOG fans were invested from the get go. Vanilla launch JWE felt like a rushed tie-in game, and I'm sure that's all Frontier were expecting it to be at the time until they realized they had a hungry fanbase to capitalize off of.
>honestly was it so hard for them to basically just make JPOG
Universal. Not only did they rush them but they gave Frontier some WEIRD restrictions. Remember that giant Trex pre patch? They didnt want the trex to be tarnished so it was even bigger than the Spino and indominus
They're just making 2 a lot more like JPOG, adding some great dino AI features on top of what they already have and adding more park/visitor management features.
The problem with Evolution, and the reason why it will never be as good as JPOG, is because the maps are way too small. You get an entire island to yourself in JPOG. Doesn't seem like Evolution 2 is changing this.
I just dont understand why they dont add that in the base game. If you can mod it in then it's clearly not a technical issue.

I guess they think optimizing the amount of space you use for your enclosures is somehow engaging

This is the problem with modern game design, man. Give us MORE options, not less!

I believe it is the last gen consoles. They wan't to make a great looking game, but also want to guarantee good performance even when with a max sized park. To achieve that they reduce the buildable space.
Yes, that's actually part of it.
Chaos Theory mode has sandboxes dedicated to scenarios from all the movies. What's been confirmed so far are JP, TLW San Diego and JW maps.
Personally can't wait to see what they do with JPIII.
>4 gamemodes >land, flying and water reptiles >multiple biomes >mixed eras >dinosaurs competing for territories >dynamic behavior >exhibit decoration >guest personalities
Evolution 2 will end this debate for forever.
>looks like planet zoo but based around prehistoric animals
That is my problem with it. I'm sure this game is like a dream for creative people but for me there is just too much shit to really have fun with the game. I own Planet Zoo and have about 60 hours and I still haven't managed to build a complete park that I am happy with. Playing that game feels like using a game engine editor. The Prehistoric Park game looks a bit better in that department because they were smart enough to include a way to create forest very fast unlike Planet Zoo.
I think the problem is people have forgotten that while grids are inherently restrictive, they're also a very easy way to create clean, nice looking designs very quickly and without much effort. I haven't played planet coaster but I'd imagine I wouldn't like it as much as RCT because I'm just so used to building on grids.
>Playing that game feels like using a game engine editor.
That's a great way of describing my experience with the prehistoric kingdom beta. I don't want to have to place down every single fricking tree, every pebble and blade of fricking grass on the map. That will probably appeal to some people but I would personally much rather JWE/JPOG's brush system
Why hasn't a rich billionaire tried to fund a park on extinct animals? At least from the ice age? I'm pretty sure there's bodies of sabertooth tigers and other large birds to get samples from, even from mamoths.
Billionaires don't actually have that kind of money. It's tied into their assets, stock, properties, and it's all leveraged against a various other debts.
As someone who loved both games, they are different.
Operation genesis is more about a park management game, while evolution is more of a dinosaur breeding game.
Really, all evolution needs is more park management tools and mechanics (something basic as giving you different types of tourists) and it completely kills operation genesis.
JWE Complete Edition with Mods edges it out
JPOG has the better AI, park customization, and music score but that might change with JWE2.
JWE2 with mods will eventually outshine both and that's exciting
>How so? The modding scene is very healthy.
They warned BestInSlot multiple times that if he showed modded content, they would stop giving him access to the game. He eventually called their bluff and made a video about it, but smaller channels don't get that luxury.
JPOG is better, but if JWE delivers on their non-scripted fights and hunting, they will win. The stupid turn-based fights with locked animations killed the first game.
The maps for JWE2 still look puny from what we've seen so far. In the most recent video, they showed their Isla Nublar with a JW build on it, and its extremely scaled down.
I imagine the water dinosaurs aren't going to be very interesting. There's probably only going to be like three of them, and they wont do much interactions with each other.
I have never even played JPOG but from what I can see from videos it blows JWE out of the water. JWE is just so fricking shallow and I have almost not faith that frontier is going to fix it in JWE2. All of the problems with JWE stem from the fact that they are trying to cater to shitty consoles which just cant run anything with a reasonable amount of basic content apparently.
JPOG keeps the crown, but JWE2 might steal it.
I hope so
JPOG is great but it's not impossible to top
I would love a game that finally does it

How so? They’re bringing back the old trilogy?
see;
They're just making 2 a lot more like JPOG, adding some great dino AI features on top of what they already have and adding more park/visitor management features.

Probably reclaiming the islands.

thoughts? looks like planet zoo but based around prehistoric animals
I played some of the alpha or beta or whatever it was, it feels extremely amateurish
>looks like planet zoo but based around prehistoric animals

>They're still using the inaccurate safari car models
>spend 4-10 million dollars making a dino

thats moronic
Yeah it would be pretty dumb.
Jurassic Park for the Sega Genesis
JPOG is the best dinosaur game to date, nothing comes close.
JWE Complete Edition with Mods edges it out
JPOG has the better AI, park customization, and music score but that might change with JWE2.
JWE2 with mods will eventually outshine both and that's exciting
can you pilot the helicopter and shoot t rexes in JWE 2? that's all I'm hoping for.
Of course you can, you could do it in JWE, ranger helicopters will still be a thing in 2.
I heard you couldn't use the retire bullets though, and it didn't have those FPS type missions you had in JPOG
Oh yeah nah you're right, from what I remember there's zero lethal means of dealing with rampaging dinos.
That's true. The beginning of the claire campaign felt a bit like those JPOG mission, just a bit shittier.
How so? The modding scene is very healthy.

Wtf! Do you have a link to that video?
Reminder that Jurassic World devs actively oppose the modding scene, so yeah no frick those guys
JPOG is better, but if JWE delivers on their non-scripted fights and hunting, they will win. The stupid turn-based fights with locked animations killed the first game.
I'm looking at gameplay of the fights right now, and they look the exact same as the first game. What's different?
The maps for JWE2 still look puny from what we've seen so far. In the most recent video, they showed their Isla Nublar with a JW build on it, and its extremely scaled down.
I'm tired of World's aesthetic
Same. It's just so bland and sterile.
This is Isla Nublar, so probably one of the bigger maps. Its tiny.
>They can make a model for the San Diego amphitheater
>Still won't do one the T-Rex Kingdom enclosure
Not even a fan of the JW series but come on.
Just mod it in bro
Are you high? There is a screenshot of the San Diego amphitheater in the thread
Are you? That's not what I said.
So it seems. Sorry about that.
All good bro.
