Sorry buddy you're on microsoft's turf.
Steam is basically the only reason sony controllers have a fraction of support and its still iffy.

Game devs are even more moronic. Switch and playstation buttons are in the UI files but are hard set to xbox layout because its the PC release but at least modding the right prompts on are easier when that happens instead of having to unpack, draw over it, then repack.

It's a nice controller. But none of that works on PC. Probably the best aspect of it on PC is the extra functionality the touchpad gives you if you dive into Steam controller customization.

      >Because haptic feedback is audio-based and requires the controller's audio device to be exposed to the connected PC, it is not supported over Bluetooth. Some games will fall back to regular rumble instead of having no rumble when the controller is connected via Bluetooth.
      Damn, this shit is garbage

Only the Sony ones support it, and not all of them. It is a bad controller. I prefer the 8bitdo Ultimate. Purple looks nice though even if the controller is abject trash.

its mainly the sony pc ports that have full support for the controller. the rest is more like "partial" support.

for example cyberpunk 2077 does recognize its a dualsense controller and use the triggers but you dont get the proper rumble or features like ps5. you need to mod the game.

Returnal, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered and Spider-man 2 are the only games that utilize haptic feedback well. In 99% of games, and I only play on PS5 mind you, haptic feedback feels absolute garbage. Developers barely know how to utilize this properly and it more often than not it actively works against the player. Oh, dont even make me mention the goddamn noise it makes when a developer thinks having a trigger go WRRRRRRRRRRRRRBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR is a good idea as if a fricking coin is flipping in that trigger and you hear it through your headphones. What an absolute joke of a feature. Devs can suck my dick. And now the leaked xbox series x/s controller will have it too? God help me

    >adaptive triggers
what exactly is this? i've got an xbone controller
i played my first modern sony game ever last week, ratchet and clank rift apart on pc, and it knew when i was only pulling the trigger half way. the bomb glove has some sort of aiming feature or something

also i had to turn the rumble all the way off because that game vibrates the controller non fricking stop. maybe that's better with hd rumble
anywho op, play the new ratchet and clank. get it off fitgirl because it is not worth $60 for how short it is. the gameplay's great tho

the trigger dynamically adjusts to whats happening. for example if you use the mod to enable proper adaptive triggers then every single weapon in the game fires differently. its better to watch a video to see the rumble pointed at the camera instead of reading about it.

it is the future of controller tech. it's the furthest thing from a gimmick. EVERY gun in ratchet and clank feels completely different. Death Stranding you feel the motorbike

it makes games feel more immersive. thats the whole point behind rumble. it wont make you go "wow i need this" like the starfox 64 ads wanted you to believe. but its nice to have. driving games can use them to great effect that kb+m cant emulate.

I don't know about it being the future of controllers. PS5 games that make use of it have to be designed with it in mind and for devs releasing multi-plat it's probably not worth the effort. I don't think it takes off unless MS adopts the tech in a new Xbox controller for the PC playerbase. Devs just aren't going to develop for the feature unless a lot of people are using controllers with this tech in it.

Isnt the Dualsense one of the most popular controllers on Steam? I think there's no reason to think more devs wont make use of it. But yeah, Nintendo and MS should take notes.

None apart from Sonys ported games and CoDs i guess. Overwhelming majority of games dont even natively support Dualsense since everythings on Xinput so even steam input is just emulating directinput used by Dualsense as Xinput lol. Its actually moronic that Sony still doesnt have universal solution for their peripherals on PC especially now when they port their games.

I have this same controller but I didn't even know about these "adaptive triggers" thing. Does it work by default, for example on Steam, in games that support it?

The game has to explicitly support it like Death Stranding or require mods like Cyberpunk.

Every single Playstation Studios game. Spiderman Miles Morales, Ratchet and Clank, God of Kino.

Unironically one of the only points where I'll praise Sony is that they created the greatest controller of all time, and actually apply haptics and adaptive triggers properly. I HATE Sony, but love that controller.

oh almost forgot, death stranding DC has crazy haptics too. as far as i can tell, mostly games that have been released on PS5 and PC fully take advantage of Dualsense tech
