You're using the worst way to play fighting games unless you play a grappler with 360s. Or maybe you are just gonna use it to play arcade games, if so have fun.
> makes “business investment” in qanba and rebuying sf6 on ps5 > all of this for 500$ just to get rid of LAHG > still losing to online “pattern player scrubs” and ends up in platinum
Kino. Would’ve been more kino if the game placed him in gold
Shits so fricking hilarious, dude b***hed about the buttons and stick on a fricking fightpad that has REPLACABLE AND CUSTOMIZABLE STICKS AND BUTTONS >AND GETS A WHOLE NEW FIGHTPAD FOR >NEW STIKS AND BUTTONS >AND HE LOSES STILL >AND NOW HES COMPLAINING THAT HIS >INPUTS ARENT BEING READ
Pretty much anyone who plays SF6 online can call him out on bullshit. Everyone knows SF6 online is good and has no input delay unless you’re 1 bar wifi moron. So basically some of his inputs are dropped because of mashing and not getting into buffer window properly
I was watching him playing Honda with platinums and there was some good Ryu without literally any bullshit (name was Umasi i believe) that was playing smart, getting sick comebacks while DSP was literally spamming same od combo whole match. Even his chat was laughing while he was yelling THIS IS BS! ONE HIT AND HALF HP GONE! FRICK YOU, YOU SUCK! Shit was so embarassing.. i just hope umasi never find that vid on YT
>Spends 300 shekels on a new stick just because he wants to switch to playstation due to mortal kombat >He will not play Mortal Kombat barely at all after the 'grace period', so it was essentially another scam on the paypigs >Gets placed in Platinum rank when he was Master rank on his Xbox account >Permanent seething every single day since

I just started playing fighting games and I don't have a stick. I've been using my directional keys for movement and WASD QE for most of the important buttons. Is a fight stick really that much better? I'm still struggling to make half and quarter circles in the heat of the fight but I still think it's just a skill issue.
people will try to gaslight you into thinking stick is garbage nowadays but all input styles are good and using what you find most comfortable and fun is important
pad players have won tournaments, stick players have won tournaments, hitbox/leverless players have won tournaments
What do you play anon? If you use a keyboard and like the button movement a hitbox is a good upgrade. No reason to go for stick other the fun factor since you already learn how to play with the keyboard.
>directional keys
you should try remapping your movement keys to resemble a hitbox's ergonomic layout. mirror it if you want your left hand to do movement
for example if you have a numbpad, try 7 = left, 8 = down, 9 = right, right arrow = up
As long as your keyboard has nkro you're fine. But buttons on a stick or hitbox are faster because shorter travel to actuation and lighter. The stick part of the stick isn't such a huge advantag over a keyboard. It's better than a shitty dpad because it's more precise but it's slower than buttons presses for sure because of longer travel distances. In short, you can get good with aynthing. But nkro and no ghosting is a must on a keyboard.
Half the anons that replied probably haven’t touched a stick. They are fun. Simple as. If you’re a turbo autist competitive player go for the hitbox but otherwise sticks remain the most fun way to experience fighting games. If it’s not your first one this one is definitely one of the best.
>directional keys

Depends.
Can you do woodwork or have some sturdy plastic box to use as an enclosure?
Then it's just getting quality buttons like Sanwa and a Brook PCB+wires so about $60-$70.
When DIYing pretty much anything, the total price depends a lot on whether you have the machinery/tools to make it and know how to use it.
For an arcade stick, the hardest and most expensive part is the enclosure, if you're actually making a decent one and not just a pizza box. The the buttons and PCB are like $50 or so.
most expensive part of making a custom stick/hitbox is usually the case and the pcb
yea you can make a custom out of a plastic storage container but it's gonna feel like shit, a good enclosure goes a long way
pcbs can vary in price, brook is always reliable but playstation licensing is a b***h so if you want PS5 support you will have to pay an extra pretty penny. i've seen some other pcbs like the pico but i'm not sure about them
For real? Accidental up inputs on this thing? I've never used an arcade stick made in the last 20 years with that problem.
there aren't any. accidental up inputs are just common if you're not used to stick
Lots of time spent having fun playing fighting games. I barely got to spend much time playing fighting games in arcades since the pickings were slim where I live and the moment had already begun to pass in the 2000s, but I just have more fun playing arcade games in general with controllers like this.
I've heard a lot of people say the Obsidian is a good stick. If I hadn't already bought a couple of Hori's sticks by the time Qanba started making a name for themselves I likely would have bought an Obsidian instead.
Any fightpad players here? My first 6-button one comes tomorrow and I expect the wider buttons with smaller gaps between them will make OD moves a breeze. Plus I'll have more room for macros than I know what to do with
Thoughts on chinkshit hitboxes?
I tried some keyboard and liked it better than pad but dedicated buttons would feel better I bet. >just print one
no printer and the minimum PCB order is 5x which already makes it more expensive.
the main things you want with a cheatbox are >good quality buttons >big enough for ergonomic hand positioning
the people i know who got snackboxes have had problems with hand pain which i've never had to deal with on a full sized box
I wanted a small form factor though, does it matter if I play on my desk instead of on lap? >snackbox
those are ridiculously expensive, absolute robbery

and it’s pretty high quality, prolly the same as hitbox. It’s just taking too long to get used to it..
Stick is utterly useless if you have no problems playing on pad.
However, the PS5 d-pad is so bad at registering diagonal inputs, even I am consid switching to stick.
Playing the Tekken 8 CNT and having nonstop failed qcf and half circle motions pissed me off to no end, especially because I can turn on the PS4, load up T7 and have absolutely zero problems with the PS4 pad.
it's really fun. Everyone saying you'll just lose with it are actual shitters. I personally got it because playing sf3 with dualshock was turning my thumbs into chalk and the fighstick is INFINITELY more ergonomic. You'll be able to play on that thing until the day you die. And I'm not sure why this isn't usually mentioned, by fightsticks are just fricking fun to use. They're awesome. Just spank, twiddle it, twirl, bop it do whatever you want it's an amazing thing to operate. Don't limit yourself to just fightans, OP, you play (almost) anything on a fightstick.
I've been playing R-Type Final 2 on mine and frequently go back to Cuphead with it as well. FC2? Metal Slug? Forget abaht it! When I first got my Quanba I even had a run of Dark Souls 1 with it. It was hell! The R3 button in the top-right row of squares was the only way I could move the camera! But I frickin did it! Now STFU and play Soul Calibur 2 on Dolphin with it or something. Give yourself the things childhood you could've only dreamed of. Go, go! and remember - A, B, K on the top row, G all across the bottom.
sticks are fun as hell. doing motions with your whole hand just feels cooler than pressing two buttons. playing tekken on stick almost feels like playing a musical instrument. i haven't tried any shmups yet though.
does virtual on work with a standard arcade stick?
>does virtual on work with a standard arcade stick?
unfortunately, like ds1, that game is way too based in its twin stick control scheme for it to be anything above a cute afternoon gimmick. You can try regardless!
Also I forgot to recommend arcade racers like Trackmania on stick. Don't knock it till you try it.
I was watching Lirik playing ranked on a pad with modern controls. Shit looks mad fun, gonna try myself today since im tired of dropping combos on hitbox cuz of being nervous n shit
arcade sticks aren't really any superior to any other types of controller, they've always been for people who already play on arcade machines and don't want to waste their time on learning how to use gamepads.
I just bought a fightbox, the one that has the typical hitbox layout but with a stick as well. It has Sanwa OBSF buttons. I never realized they would be this sensitive. I'm constantly doing inputs accidentally. Is this normal? Do I just need to get used to it?
Honestly bro I ditched the stick for an 8bitdo pro pad. It would be literally perfect if it just had buttons instead of triggers for RT and LT. I even play grapplers
being beaten by someone on keyboard
i cant map keys when i use my keyboard in my console
you will still lose to pad and cheatbox players, but now you'll have fun button feel
love mine but ill leave it at that so i dont sound like some kind of shill since liking something is already in the shill danger zone here
you are utterly mindbroken. this entire board is about products so every thread is shilling.
Being bodied by modern player on a ps4 pad
t. bought hitbox and can’t get 2 star gold in ranked
You're using the worst way to play fighting games unless you play a grappler with 360s. Or maybe you are just gonna use it to play arcade games, if so have fun.
You can use the ball part as a buttplug.
It's pretty sturdy. I've heard it's kind of a b***h to customize though.
Reminder DSP bought this one and got mad that he can't rank up anymore.

have the video?

DSP has so much soul its unreal and I hope he has more success in the future.
This the correct 'DSP going postal' video

He does have all his consoles on wifi which he probably has all fricked up.
but his matches are normally 40ms, isn't that good?
Seems nice. Got a HORI RAP Kai years ago and can't go back to pad.
youll slowly realize you still suck and put it on a shelf to collect dust when you lose to little timmy using his PS5 pad
I got this one coming in the mail.
easily the best looking HORI stick, if I had a reason to get rid of my RAP4 I'd pick this up
Not so fast
Shit is comically large though. At this point just set up the cab.

Granblue Versus. and TFH since I already owned it from my /mlp/ days but mostly Granblue

I have the most fun as a pad player tho

What do you know, same here. It's my favorite arcade stick.
i've got this with sanwa parts i fricking love it

Lots of accidental jumps. Hope you don't play Dhalsim because you will get killed for it.
For real? Accidental up inputs on this thing? I've never used an arcade stick made in the last 20 years with that problem.
skill issue, literally. clean up your inputs
see above, don't worry anon
Any fightpad players here? My first 6-button one comes tomorrow and I expect the wider buttons with smaller gaps between them will make OD moves a breeze. Plus I'll have more room for macros than I know what to do with
I have this shit because im a poorgay and it still works.
all you need
the main things you want with a cheatbox are
>good quality buttons

what do you consider "ergonomic" for hand positioning?
Get on my level. I won't even take a photo of mine, with how busted it is. Still works like a charm after cleaning and lubing a bearing.

no improvement in your game at all because no matter how much $$ you spend on useless toys you need to gitgood first

fighting games are for cuckolds anyway. only a man that spends 16 hours a day practicing combos would let his wife... well you know
fightangays don't even get cucked they just get catfished by hood homies
i wish i could use stick but my left hand is kinda fricked and it's difficult for me to use my thumb and pinky so just playing wasd is easier
I use a stick because I get blisters playing with a pad. And it feels fun.

victrix sticks are fricking insanely overprices but damn the shells do look pretty nice

Honestly bro I ditched the stick for an 8bitdo pro pad. It would be literally perfect if it just had buttons instead of triggers for RT and LT. I even play grapplers
