>just collect trash and fix guns and kill shit until you get bored bro
This thing is a collection of 300+ addons yet none them give your playthrough any purpose or meaningful questlines to keep you entertained as you explore the Zone. Tarkov fans getting into STALKER was a mistake

I blame Fallout for normalizing literal trash collection as "survival".
are you spergs purposely not enabling story mode or what? of course it will be boring
the story mode is some cringe fanfic shit. and the npc tasks are all shit generic stuff
call of the zone had fun and interesting randomly generated tasks, I don't know why it hasn't been ported to other freeplay mods
>rigorous tasks such as storming labs and what not that also justify your need for better gear are bad
Correct.
And this shit was a plague even before Analmeme, before CoC.
There is no "story" to speak of.
Handful of generic fetch quests does not a story make.
>enable story mode
>final mission of the first storyline consists of you and an invincible Strelok squad storming and mowing down everything inside the CNPP
Gamma is a terrible mistake. You are better off modding Anomaly to meet your needs.
Which is fricking awesome. Monolith and Military have their own storylines too.
No it isn't, fighting through a hundred Monolith in a tiny ass fricking hallway, while keeping your nimrod squad alive, while the game crashes every other time you reload a save isn't fun in the slightest.
There was so many monolith that I literally had to switch over to their looted weapons and armor that they were carrying just to get through them since my current equipment was falling apart or I was running out of ammo.
>invincible Strelok squad
I'm pretty sure they're not invincible.
The story mode is literally a CoC addon with a few extra chapters that suck even more dick. You can also tell it was ported over and never touched because of how fricking broken the original quest is. Your guns will literally break and run out of ammo before you reach the Monolith shard at the end. And your garbage teammates won't help you in anyway since the AI in anomaly is beyond fricked.
I'm content taking on jobs, spending a day or two out in the zone, then returning to the bar for drinks and sausages with the boys.
That's my feel on most freeplay shit. Fun to frick around for a while and potentially pretty polished gameplay, but they never keep my interest as long as a modded playthrough of the original games
Enable story mode. Better yet, try aiming towards Invictus.
THAT'S THE FRICKING POINT OF FREEPLAY moron
IT'S GIVES YOU FREEDOM TO EXPLORE THE ZONE AND ROLEPLAY AS A RANDOM STALKER, NOT TO BE STRELOK'S REINCARNATION
My thoughts exactly
Honestly this type of aimless open world gameplay simply does not fit STALKER. Half the time you're just running across empty maps you've already cleared. In SoC every little corner of every map had something worth exploring and then you would move on, that's what made it fun and addictive.
I suggest playing Call of the Zone. It's like Call of Pripyat+
>In SoC every little corner of every map had something worth exploring
lies, utter lies, lol
>hey what ubisoft made stalker?
>GENIUS!
I like some of the ideas but it artifically stretches out the hobophase and gets boring.
>tfw it's hard to go back to STALKER after playing dayz namalsk
as clunky and shit as dayz is, STALKER just feels dated at this point
Go back to /sg/ pls i want to enjoy my tacticool stalker in peace
It's not even fun tacticool. The AI is dogshit, literal loot pinatas. Go play a real MP tacticool game
>The AI is dogshit
Name another game with an ai better than anomaly's a-life
There's nothing wrong with tacticool shit as long as mutants, anomalies and other weird zone shit get the same amount of care.
theres nothing wrong with stalker without a main story as a concept, it just needs interesting quests and objectives
specially in order to prevent the game from instantly ending the moment you get a decent rifle, progression wise
It's pretty hard to get freeplay progression right without seriously restricting what you can get from traders or what other stalkers spawn with.
The original games could do it well because you couldn't really go in 10 different directions with various traders of certain factions. So it ended up locked behind milestones in the story that would unlock new shit from the main trader, or stashes and spawns were controlled per map.
The only reason SoC did it well is because you cant just loot a random weapon and repair it to good condition. If you remove that, its entire progression is gone.
CoP made the good weapons much rarer before you go to Pripyat, in exchange
That and traders getting new shit were mostly from completing the labs etc., so you had to go to new, tougher areas before you could buy better gear. I can't think of any stashes that were especially good early on to frick with balance.
i dont agree with the labs part, because the yantar labs dont have non-human enemies so you can get away with just the shitty guns just fine
the only real progression in SoC is how you can deal with human shooting enemies, aka how innacurate your rifle is.
something i forgot to say
CoP does have some really hidden stashes where you can get stuff like the Vintar BC almost immediatelly after the game begins kek

>finding the basic merc suit up in the roof storage of Rookie Village
>going to the east of the cheekis lets you get a bandit suit that has chainmail lining
>playing mods for later games has removed any mentions of these particular stashes
feelsbadman
remember when that merc suit was a stalker suit in earlier versions? fricking busted.
I usually ended up giving the chainmail bandit suit to nimble for the quest, even if the artifact probably isn't worth it
I also remember that one shotgun that had a piece of Gravi built into its barrel giving it better range. I wish the game had more emphasis on this system for applying upgrades. Like grinding up artifacts and applying them to weapons for a further buff rather than just the majority being vendor trash.
Some mods add artifact fusing and shit, can be pretty cool to make stronger artifacts out of the weak ones you have lying around.
>sunrise suit is considered the cannon uniform that strelok runs with
>all the merc outfits channeling that early 70s - 90s sas and counter terrorism aesthetic
bueno
*canon
Yeah that modpack is shit. I fricking hate how I worked to kill enemies, spent all my ammo, just to loot the enemies and all their weapons are conveniently broken and they had no ammo even tho they were just shooting at me.
So i uninstalled and modded Anomaly to make the game actually realistic.
>all their weapons are conveniently broken and they had no ammo even tho they were just shooting at me.
i hate this shit so much
>meaningful questlines
>WHY ISN"T THERE ANY LGBT OR BLM STUFF IN THIS??? I NEED MY POLITICAL PROPAGANDA NOW!!!
pathetic
ok nobody cares about your opinion
does it have vatBlack person mods for realistic bumming around with the bros?
dont really get gay rape, seems like it'd be grim all around
it’s a real pain in the ass
it really makes you FEEL like you're in a ukranian shithole.
That's my biggest problem with this modpack. Isn't there a mod that has all the cool shit that GAMMA has and combine with the main trilogy?
Make your own purpose and meaning, homosexual.
>have a look at it to see what its about
>80 fricking gigs and requires discord access to download
Since when the frick did Stalker get this bloated with garbage? I remember Stalker Soup being seen as most content heavy pack and that barely went past 20. What are they stuffing into this shit 8k garbage textures and duplicates of the same misc item? MISERY and its copycats have been a disaster on the modding scene.
it's not really 80gb, more like 30ish
the guy that put together this modpack is a skyrim modder that got kicked out of nexus for being a drama queen, hence all the gay shit surrounding it. the installer even has a "donate" button. lol
>when did this completely optional modpack that is advertised as adding a ton of things and making a bunch of changes get so big???
When people made it, duh. I'm playing Anomaly with only a couple mods like tooltips and it runs great and is comparatively lightweight. Don't add a ton of stuff if you don't want a ton of stuff, it's not hard. And Stalker has ALWAYS had popular mods that add 1000 guns or whatever, I never used those back then either. Currently doing Bandit faction quests btw, kinda cool for a change of flavor
I was enjoying my first playthrough(after adjusting settings) having not played a stalker game since CoP's original release, but got a serious error for some reason after dozens of hours that sets my settings to default and makes me crash on entry to Agroprom. A shame, I really don't feel like sitting for hours/days in their gay little discord to get tech support to MAYBE fix it.
