Maybe, but at the least the RNG gear treadmills and autistic minmaxing are utter cancer that are probably one of the main causes for why WoW is in the state it is in, so I'm grateful XIV doesn't have it.
I think one of the main reasons is just that WoW isn’t fun to play at all. RNG loot has always been part of the game but it only became an issue when they steered the game towards sweaty activities like raiding, speedrunning dungeons and challenge modes.

Story can be pretty good at times, but the ending fight with ultima while good the character of ultima seems meh. combat seems pretty good but if your not using the pseudo exceed mechanic they have mini bosses can take time. Overall the story and gameplay scratches enough itches for me to enjoy. lastly framerates during gameplay are a clean 60 but dip when out of combat exploring and during cutscenes
I can agree with most of this.
For me a minor nitpick I had that annoyed me was how the spoils screen popped up after a lot of battles. It's just kinda jarring and can take you out of the game.

Every reviewer has shit on the game so far because they played it on baby mode. Unsatisfied by the delivery for a variety of side-questing is fine, but when you diss the rewards in the same breath how can you not tell these gays aren't facing a proper challenge in a game.
Most of the reviewers have praised the combat though. Their complaints were that it gets repetitive and sometimes a little too much with all the numbers and fireworks taking up the screen. I'm personally annoyed that I can't turn that shit off. Or the fricking red quest marker.

I mean hasn't it always been that way? I never understood the complaint of difficulty as it pertains to JRPGs when the vast majority are solved simply by grinding. The only real difficulty in most FF games are the optional superbosses. The stories of each game are usually pretty easy.

The gear is a detriment to SoP because it's all RNG loot instead of a normal system. XVI really should've had at least a small selection of jobs to choose from if it wasn't gonna feature party members.

I thought SOP was pretty mind numbing gear wise. Though after beating the game i abandoned it, and when i wanted to play the DLCs i couldnt play it with my old progress and had to start again.

Ive played FF1, FF7, and FFXV. All of these games have been mind numbingly easy.
They pretty much all are. Maybe 2 and 5 are the hardest mainline ones.

NG+ isn't hard mode even though it's being sold as one.
I think there are some hard shit called chronolith trials and ultimania mode or something that are the actual hard shit.
But FF in general has never been hard except for MAYBE some parts of XIII and tactics (not mainline).
