To this day I still don't know how you're supposed to get past all the angler fish. The way I did it was ditching my ship, flying forward a bit at the start of the room, then hands off my keyboard and mouse for like 3 minutes until I reach the eggs.
On controller given the analog input you can just fly as usual, without the movement direction indicators lighting up at all (though you can go up to around 1 light).
On keyboard you just go 100% on a button press and alert the entire system to your presence.
