just finished this, went online after beating it and saw that was some big controversy over this game because of what happened to Joel? That's pretty much the dumbest reason to not like this game.

yea it's pretty dumb reason tbh. it's good game overall.
Video gamers are extremely petty and think of protagonists like superheroes, expecting them to last forever and hardly change
I respect your passion for your vision Neil but it’s been years please stop shilling your game here literally nobody gives a frick
I've been playing this game 2-3 hours at a time, once or twice a week. I love it honestly. Im not finished yet. The combat is so fluid. But I would not compare it to other TPS, because it's aiming and shooting isn't trying to be like the other tps games. It's a great game, and the gameplay is leagues better than the first which I finished a few months ago. Visually stunning too. I tried god of war and it was just so boring. I'll go back to it later. I mostly play my xbox.
>because it's aiming and shooting isn't trying to be like the other tps games
just fyi if you didn't know there's gyro aiming but you have to turn it on from the settings. didn't realize it was a thing until very late of the game lol
I didn't know. But i just meant like comparing it to gears of war. They're not trying to be the same so they're not comparable.
yea figured, just the talk about aiming reminded me of that
I'll turn it on and see how it feels. I didnt like it too much when messing around with dreams. Maybe I need more experience. But all the hate ITT is just idk. I like the game, its combat encounters are pretty cool and tense.
Correct take, excellent game, story, gameplay
for some reason this game gave me strong Metal Gear Solid vibes, it wasn't just the sneaking either.
It's all the TECHNOLOGY. I've never seen so much environment interaction since MGS2
Neil buddy you gotta stop posting here.. I'm not playing your troony simulator
Why still the shilling, nobody liked it. The last of us brand is death move on.
>best selling, highly rated game
>nobody liked it
yeah sure
>I'm not playing your troony simulator
You don't play a troony in the game, not sure what you're talking about.
Yeah but Ellie looks slightly masculine, and he's intimidated by anybody more manly than him
You're a moron
It didn’t sell they shipped many copies. No one is going to care dor ladt of us 3
>on sale 24/7 a year after release
It's over
lol played this for free on a 7 day PSNow trial.
>best selling, highly rated game
Show the numbers then Neil, stop showing first week sales biased by the first game
>cuckmanm will never make another game
Hahahahahahahahaha
I don't know how you make a game primarily featuring 3 young women in good shape with 2 of them being lesbians, but somehow manage to make none of them even relatively attractive.
>Lesbians are not all hot like it porn
>There are lots of ugly women
>It's realistic, for a post apocalyptic setting.
so what if she looks masculine? she's a weird dyke, people like that exist.
so ignore story and character development, just base the story in a way where you have to play with Joel...that's so shallow
>There was no reason to torture Joel.
sure there was, he killed Abby's dad? wouldn't you want to torture someone that killed someone you love?
>There was no reason to make Abby look like a troony.
She was a Firefly, she lives in a world based on survival, why should she have to look dainty? She's not a troony anyway. There are women that looks like men, see picrel.
>There was no reason to make the seraphites your enemy (playing as Abby) because a transgender girl.
I agree that felt forced woke and a bit stupid, but it doesn't ruin the game.
>There was no reason to include that Abby scene.
which one? the sex one?
you're spot on
Her dad pointed a knife at a man who asked him to stand down. Her dad was going to dissect an unconscious child's brains.
Her father got a clean death. One bullet. She beat Joel to death with a golf club after blowing off his knee. How is it justified?
Do you live in the same emotion driven world the rest of us do? or one where you think logic and reason actually dictate peoples actions.
We were arguing about if there was reason. There was reason. End of story.
Tlou 2 is literally the worst game of all time, have a nice day snoy shills. You will never be women btw.
nobody wants to play as the most annoying character in that entire first piece of shit game, it was a fricking escort mission except you had to escort an extremely annoying little insufferable teenager clearly having that time of the month written by socially incompetent
fricking weirdos.
joel is in the game but they straight up refuse to let you play as him even though they forced you to play as ellie in the worst levels in the first one
you can frick right off with both of these garbage games
>People hate it because it is a shit game with a shit plot, shit writing and shit characters.
>Even more hate it, because it is woke as frick.
>The director of the game is an obnoxious prick and a whining israelite, which pisses everyone off
>Leftoids are furious, because any game with a lesbian protagonist has to be good. They think this, because they are completely degenerated freaks.
>The game bombed, which makes said leftoid freaks even more furious.
That is the sum of it.
There was no reason to torture Joel.
There was no reason to make Abby look like a troony.
There was no reason to make the seraphites your enemy (playing as Abby) because a transgender girl.
There was no reason to include that Abby scene.
Taking off the inclusion thing, great game.
There are many socially challenged people on this website and online in general (not surprisingly) who either self-insert as Joel or interpreted his character as a symbol of white masculinity. Therefore, his brutal murder was taken by these people as a personal attack on either their self-insert or their racial & sexual identity. It doesn't help that one of the writers was israeli and that a israeli character (aka 'best girl') was featured prominently in the story. TLDR: heeelp! da jooos are attacking straight cis white men!
>most generic revenge story ever
>shock value you have to be under the age of 15 to find appealing
>muh feels pretentiousness
>dickridden by countersignallers who only like the game because homophobes don't and sweaty "well, ackschully" neckbeards
It has the most pathetic and sorry fanbase of any game ever; it is carried by trannies who are too moronic to realise they got marketed to hard.
good thing it was not about that at all and only stupid people with an angle with their opposition of critique of the game use it to amateurishly try to discredit it.
My problem with this game is that it's wildly inconsistent with the story quality, has awful pacing, undermines the characters in favour of themes, and destroys the ambiguous complexity of the ending of the first game.
Also, the game just proves Neil Druckmann relies on the same old pony tricks for all his narratives with the first TLOU being the one exception.
Left Behind, Uncharted 4, TLOU2:
- sidelining characters we want to see in favour of new ones who aren't half as interesting as the older ones
- using flashbacks to establish relationships/introduce characters instead of showing the characters and their relationships in the present tense
- interrupting the story to intersperse flashbacks because each flashback is some kind of memory trigger
Not to mention the absolute cringe they did with Ellie's character, the dumbening of Joel, and Lev being a character whose entire story and personality revolves around their gender identity.
so what about the story do you like? anything? What kind of plot would you have given a TLOU 2?
I think the end of the first game had to be addressed if you're making a part 2 with the same characters because of how crucial and morally divisive of a decision that was.
What if they made the 2nd game based on entirely different characters in a different part of the country that had nothing to do with Joel and Ellie would that be a problem for you?
The first game ended perfectly.
I don't mind Joel dying, I don't even mind Ellie trying to get revenge, but involving the Fireflies and having his death be tied to the ending of the first game just feels cheap and unimaginative and easy. There are other ways and reasons.
And yeah, honestly, I would've preferred no Joel and Ellie. They could've made cameo appearances for all I care. New characters, new stories -- the world is so big and interesting, why do we have to go back with the fricking Fireflies again?
Even a story just set between the WLF and Seraphites could've been interesting.
The first game did a novel take on the "escort mission" and father/child narrative, why not have another game in the franchise be a novel take on the "two houses" theme? Where sworn enemies find love/respect/camaraderie for one another in the midst of their factions' war or whatever.
I think this would have worked well, most of the appeal of Ellie in the first game was that she was a cute kid with immunity to be protected by a guy that sees her as a replacement for his own dead daughter. That worked well, but grown up Ellie and her issues are not that compelling. Cameos would have been enough.
smells israeli in here
It really is. It exposed all the low iq tards on this board and elsewhere.
Seethe
I found Abby to be extremely attractive. She's like the ultimate tomboy
Flashback Abby, maybe.
Yeah, she's a bit too buff for my taste. Still got hard though
she was robbed
It’s too gay and riddled with lgbt nonsense. Joel dying was fine and people tying his death to an emasculation agenda was unfounded, but the game would have been better if Abby was a male, Mel were his love interest, and the PROTECT TRANS KIDS arc was scrapped & reworked. Add in a bit more focus on Seraphine lore which was one of the more interesting segments of the game, and voila.
Instead they literally made it really gay, when it could have been really amazing.
>the PROTECT TRANS KIDS arc
That whole thing felt forced.
>Instead they literally made it really gay, when it could have been really amazing.
they know how far to push it though, lesbians will still sell, but they don't dare go the male on male route.
I liked the game, I'm really into snuff/webm gore and stuff. TLoU franchise really caters to me in that regard. Can't stand the story of gameplay but the violence is top-tier.
the Rattlers or whatever you call them seemed far more interesting than the bullshit going on in Seattle. That big guy that delivers the punch, would have liked to see more of him, seemed like a good sadist, felt right.
Finished it recently. Went in with an open mind and I genuinely liked it. Biggest flaw tough was dissonance between the game really trying to make it edgy and dramatic while having one of the funniest gameplay. They can't make me feel bad about killing so many people when killing them is cool as frick.
bingo
The ending for the first game was good enough. Not everything needs sequels and TLOU 2 is a shining example. Drunkman should be blacklisted from the industry and Naughty Dog should beg for Bruce and Amy to come back.
It feels like it was written by a 13 year old and the pacing is fricking awful. The only people who feel compelled to defend tlou2 are consistently the most dense and insufferable people on Earth. It's the only game I help people pirate.
