Ive seen some gameplay and looks fun and according to the youtuber i follow, its one of the best of the series.

Explore, find weird stuff, experiment. The best thing about the Fallout games are the weird areas like Vaults full of Horror lore and weird prewar stuff.

I mean, out of Fallouts 4 is pretty good. A lot of lore, vaults, gunplay is great, companions are good too.

I think FO4 is good and saying it's not an RPG is accurate.
Almost no one ever said it was a bad game at release or has since. The gunplay is really damn good compared to previous games, power armor feels amazing, and the world is fun to explore.
But it did piss me and and a bunch of other fans of previous games by making it more difficult to role play as whatever character I wanted. It did so with:
Voiced protagonist
Protagonist has forced backstory of being a married pre-war veteran/lawyer
Way fewer varied dialogue choices
Making main quest be about finding muh son, with no option to say you just don't care about finding him or assume he's dead
It was way more on rails than past games in that regard. I always tell people Fallout 3 is a top tier action game and looter-shooter, but a very mid or low tier RPG.

I would say so. But if I have learned any lessons from /vrpg/ since it was created, it's that you can always find at least one person who will say "Not an RPG" about any game ever made.

I wouldn't go that far. It's just the same style of RPG as something like Kingdom Come: Deliverance. You get handed a pre-made character and have limited choices, but you do get choices.

Charisma 6 let's you use all your inventory between all settlements, and intelligence 8 let's you put jetpacks on your power armor. So you're going to want those more than any other perks.

"Use fusion batteries like grenades" means have no equipped grenade (game doesn't tell you), use up the battery you currently are using regardless of charge, and DROP it where you are standing.. live. This is the LEAST intelligent thing I could have done.
